    Although I'm heavily invested with the EGO brand, I couldn't but notice that you may have left the mulch plug in with the bagger on (based on your demo I didn't see you remove it), thus the heavy clumping. If that is true then I'm very impressed on the Greenworks performance. With that said Greenworks has the same 60v but 25" mower as well. I'm hoping for EGO to match very soon as there is a lot of great competition (Toro, Ryobi, Greenworks, EGO).

    Great video and you made me laugh. I am old and have a local guy cut my crazy lawn with a riding mower. In April I just reseeded my entire back yard. No riding mower on that for a while, so I bought the 60v 22 in self propelled. Getting tomorrow. Thanks to your detailed instructions I am ready to go. Happy mowing.

      Either one is great. I ended up buying the greenworks. I got a string trimmer, blower charger and 5.0 ah battery and charger for $189.99 then bought the hedge clippers and mower a couple weeks later. Been using it all season. And I have Bermuda. Love it and won’t be going back to gas ever.

      @Tech Made Easy it's replacing the only mower I have ever purchased, a 31 year old Lawnboy M Series mower that has been an amazing workhorse. I purchased it new. Motor still runs stronger than anything I've seen. But the rest of it is falling apart, with parts no longer available. Plus, I'm tired of smelling like gasoline and 2 stroke oil when I'm finished mowing!. Having retired, and being cheap, I really debated making another big investment in lawn equipment. But then I realized junk, no name gas mowers are nearly $300 now. So I'm okay with this purchase as it includes two batteries and 2 blades (one standard, one high lift.) My neighbor has a 40v Ryobi that I can't even hear when I'm indoors. That convinced me to go battery instead of gasoline.

    Very, very similar to my Kobalt 80V Max. Mine is about 3 years old now so this has more features but batteries look the same, underside and blade look exactly the same. And my Kobalt ramps up the motor automatically like that when it needs it. I have always said I wished it had a "boost" button so I could ramp up the motor when I needed it. It looks like the "turbo" button does exactly that. Great job with the information and the video! Good stuff! Pet Brooklyn for us. 👍😊

      This is true, they sense a heavy load and adjust but the operator can see a heavy patch of grass and could ramp up the speed before getting to it, resulting in less stalling or bogging down

    • @jroark101
      @jroark101 3 роки тому +2

      SCraig 2018 I think the turbo speed is the same speed as the auto adjustment speed bc the turbo button doesn’t work when the speed is automatically adjusted

      I agree from what I've seen

    • @mmonti77
      @mmonti77 3 роки тому +2

      @@jroark101 yes, basically the mower has 2 speeds, high and low, the turbo button puts it in high. So the button will not function when the mower is already in high speed mode. My Kobalt 80V Max doesn't have a speed selector like a turbo button but it has a sensor and when under heavy load it puts the mower in high speed mode. I hate having to stop and wait in tall grass, even for a split second for it to sense that and ramp up. The turbo button,(motor speed selector) should allow the user to not hesitate when entering tall grass. Basically I have 4 batteries and I would run my mower in high speed all the time if I could. I am not concerned with running out and having to wait for a charge. When I had a gas mower it was always full throttle for the most grass cutting power.

    With the thick grass and your engine revving up that's like having a turbo button on. The turbo buttons just a button that keeps turbo on. But when your engine is revving up like that that's like turbo. So even with turbo on your motor will stall. It'll stall just like it did there

    I have this mower, trouble I have with it is., you cannot mow your grass using height 1 or 2 because the mower base and rear cross bar drag on the grass causing resistance. I have Sir Walter grass. Most demo's I have watched, they all seem to cut on height 4.

    I just bought the 60 volt pro with the duel counter rotating blades 25inch deck. Cuts as good as my old Toro personal pace. Only used it one time so far, but so much easier to maneuver around the yard and pull it backwards. Ran it for 35 min not so heavy grass and had half a charge. I really wanted the Ego, but the greenworks was a 150.00 cheaper, time will tell if I made the right decision.

      I bought the same one last week for 500 at Lowes. My first electric mower and it's performed really well so far. Only cut once on the middle setting and I have St. Augustine. My wife would have no trouble with using this. Since I already had the blower and trimmer, it made sense to get the lawn mower and the extra battery to stick with the same platform. I think the dual blades are typically found in the commercial line so it should be great for home use.

      Turbo allows you to ramp up the power before htting thick/tall spots, whereas the tool can only know to do it AFTER it has hit that spot.
      The lack of it is a complaint amongst some power users that want the most out of these machines.

    I just ordered the 21" self propelled that comes with 2 each 5 amp batteries and charger from Home Pot for $399 @ # 2531702, didn't get it yet. Can you run the self propelled without running the blade? Hold the start button down and move the drive lever and it should drive w/o the blade? That's important to me cause where I store my mower in my garage is a steep hill climb to my lawn.

    I bought one a self propelled 60 V model a few days ago only to find out that the 54V 5.0 battery battery that only lasted for 32 to 36 minuets cutting about 4-5" high grass (#5 wheel height) and using self propelled 90% of the time about 50% speed for about a total of two hours the grass was not real thick. It took 8 hours to recharge the batteries 4 times; I cut a little over 15,000 Sq feet. The battery might last one hour run time if you just ran it without cutting anything but air?
    Not many people have $200.00 to buy a second 5.0 Amp battery. The specs book lists a charge time of 2 hours and the recharge was within a few minuets +/- of the stated charge time, I did not see any of this information printed on the outside of the box.

    • @SCraig-Handsome
      @SCraig-Handsome 4 роки тому

      It works a bit different than gas engines, yes you can go through thick grass but it will bog down and you need to allow it to clear the grass or it will stall. In this case it looked like the grass was dry but very long and dense. It’s able to cut due to the fast blade speed but it doesn’t have the same power as an engine, it’s the battery that controls it

And I recently purchased a 60v with a metal deck. The 16” worked well . The 21” works even better. My only complaint with both is battery life. If I get an additional battery, that will solve that problem. But both have plenty of power . I often let my grass grow too tall. But the 60v never falters. Again, why did you criticize the one you bought?

      I returned mine as well. It just didn’t cut well. I needed to mow my front yard several times to get most of the grass, and that is only taking about 3/4” off. Otherwise I liked it but found the rear drive didn’t disconnect as fast as it should.

      It’s a 16mph increase, for a maintenance cut, 172mph, heavy load or Turbo mode should push it to 188

      Walmart is usually good about that, Maybe you had a bad unit? I've tested this a few times and it's one of Greenworks Best Mowers. Maybe try a Milwaukee, EGO?

      I hear you Anthony, the motor works way too hard from the tests I did and I believe that’s what’s killing the battery

      Make sure u buy the right battery. The 2.5 Ah won’t last long. I have three 60v 4.0 Ah that works like a charm. My entire yard with 2 batteries or less with blower n trimmer (little less than acre)

      Hi Derrick it depends on what battery you have in the Greenworks pro, the 5ah 60v gets me about 60mins.

      @@TechMadeEzy Maybe on your flat perfect yard. Add some crab grass, some hill, and use of self-propelled and my kid got 20 minutes off of the 5AH battery. I think I'm taking it all back to Lowe's. These aren't ready for prime time. Back to gas we go.

      I would give the LM2135Sp a shot by ego then, it's their latest,, I've used it and my yard isn't flat in more than a few areas. If not I understand, we all have different needs. Gas definitely has better suction and run time but the LM2135Sp lasts me on my 5000 SF lawn areas. Best of luck, let me know how you do 👍🏻
