- Vegetarianism and mental health are two topics that seem most relevant to the past 100 years, but one Scottish physician working in 18th century England was an early modern proponent of both. Join Mütter Museum staff member Charlie Dawson for a fascinating look at two books by Dr. George Cheyne from our Historical Medical Library collection!

Got diabetes? Try mercury! Gotta yawn? Don't eat meat!
Fantastic presentation. Love how these old medical book can have kernels of truth otherwise contained in complete nonsense
this is cool. Even Visitor Services presents information.
This is very cool.
This is the most interesting channel in the UA-cam world
Wonderful stuff.
Ah mercury. I wonder why early drs were so enamored with it.
I used to play with it as a kid sometimes when my mom would accidentally break a thermometer. It was truly fascinating stuff.
Because its so pretty
Nothing like mercury to cure your depression and anxiety! 🙃
Horseback riding, *if done right* is quite a heavy cardio though. However most people sit on a horse like a sack of potatoes and do nothing more than fuck up the horse. So I suggest if exercise is the goal do something where your "equipment" doesn't have a mind of it's own
Mercury is the answer.
More mercury! Salvation in salivation!😉
Interesting materials, boring presentation.
