- Here is the Google Pixel 5 vs OnePlus 8T vs Galaxy S20 FE Camera review comparison! This is my most requested video for a camera test so think of this as my Google Pixel 5 Camera review compared to the OnePlus 8T Camera and the S20 FE Camera. My full Pixel 5 review is coming but I need some more time with the phone and the OnePlus 8T Review is also in the works. If you want a OnePlus 8T Unboxing or a Google Pixel 5 Unboxing let me know! Pixel 5 vs OnePlus 8T Who wins? Pixel 5 vs Galaxy S20 FE which one is the better value?

Google Pixel 5 vs OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE: Which camera won? Which one would you rather have?
You didn't mention the amazing HDR on the Galaxy S20FE.
This is an important thing which makes the difference between a flagship camera and a non flagship one.
The pixel and oneplus didn't expose shadows properly removing completely details.
The FE does have great dynamic range but it’s a hit or miss sometimes. Highlight clipping on a 2020 flagship-ish phone shouldn’t happen
True but sometimes it can miss, other times it's wayy to aggressive looking alot more fake and overprocessed
When it comes to colour rendition the one plus does a terrible job. Pixel still wins for photos but the FE does win with the videos. Just wish the made a pixel 5 XL. lol
@@markstelzl1245 yeah that'd be sick, videos id say is better on OnePlus, photos on pixel, Fe is a nice balance
Your comparisons are always balanced and comprehensive. No hype. No BS.
Appreciate that. I don’t have bias towards any camera. I just want them all to be good!
@@dannywinget 0:37, 0:52 Hindi Language... Better use Photosphere for Ultrawide on Pixel 5.
Great comparison!

The FE still showing its the best overall package for it's price
No clear winner. They each have their strengths. Google can no longer sit on their obsolete image sensor and claim king just with software. The other manufacturers have caught up.
Not absolute winner but still winner.
Imagine they used sony top notch quality sensor, they would destroy iphone
Let's be honest. Most people these days take a picture to post on social media or dating sites. Very rare these days to print out the pics. So, any of these phones are good enough for what most people will need. Thank you.
Thank you! Especially when Facebook and Instagram shit on the quality as soon as you upload anyway
Obviously, I'm a bit different from "the most people"
I don't post my photos on a social media.
Exactly if you are a photographer then most likely you will be using DSLR or Mirror less camera. I personally use my alpha series for actually taking pictures.
@@adrianstrozier Unfortunately, at least in Mexico, you can not take SLR or mirrorless cameras 📷 in several places, including some parks. So the high quality pics you may get with one of this phones is important. Greetings 🖖

@@sal2142I'm loving it!"
The performance, clean android, battery are top-notch. The only thing that could be improved or cannot be matched with IOS is the camera. It gets you through, but you won't be saying "wow" after making the pictures. Seriously, the phone's amazing for 600eur, cannot complain, the screen on time for me is 8-9 hours and I'm a heavy user.
Nejc Ribič I’m so tempted right now and thank you for the detailed reply! Really considering this phone. 😁
@@sal2142 the other option is Pixel 5. Hardware is a so-so, but if you only care about camera performance and (under 600eur budget), consider pixel.
I might get it in a week or so
Love Danny's camera comparison the most. Interesting and colorful subjects instead of just drab November sky and side-by-side instead of one follow the other
As soon as an stable Gcam comes out for S20 FE, mostly for selfies, I think it could be a solid candidate even in top tier.
It won't be a top tier but it will much improved.
@@lukemothug The rest could be dealt in a picture editing app

Gcam modder need to decrypt 4 thousand of code lines in new gcam 8..
The Pixel 5 has the best video stabilization, is on standard by default, you have to change it to active
Hey Danny, I love your camera comparisons. I always check them out before buying a phone. In this video, at 07:18, you mentioned that OnePlus has the biggest sensor. I think there might be some confusion here. As far as I know, S20 FE uses a 1/1.76" sensor with F/1.8 Aperture (Same as S20 and S20+) while OnePlus 8T uses IMX586 (1/2" F/1.7) Sensor. The OnePlus pic might be brighter just because it cranked up the ISO.
Anyways, keep up the good work.
Yup I made a mistake here. Realized it after the fact. Thanks for pointing that out.
@@dannywinget Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. BTW, Congratulations on crossing the 500K Subs Milestone. Hope you get to 1 Million ASAP.
Isn't the most important thing the pixel size in µm ? 0.1 aperture doesn't mean anything different, but you're right with the sensor size. IMX 586 is outdated btw marketing prevails on quality, their software optimization on an IMX 686 would have been far better. But it would kill their OP8 pro...
It would be nice if you wrote which Galaxy FE you used in this comparison video. There's a 4G Exynos 990 model and a 5G with Snapdragon 865. Every time i see a Samsung S or Note series camera comparison i have to guess the processor version!
4:05 great video! "OnePlus can fix this in an update, I hope" people have been saying this for years, but OnePlus never updates their camera software
Soo ,they update it or not...
@@user-fz6uj2ru3z They do it. The first guy is saying that ever year is basically the samse sensor. But after they launch a phone, one- two months after they release an update, that also has camera improvements
@@alexeeduard1338 but why it degrades with time, my friend's op 7 takes average pic after a year! Day light shots were still great but low light performance was pretty much average (grainy) We downloaded the Gcam and damn the results were great! They are all up there. I wouldn't mind any of these
I'll be honest and say that the pixel 5 and 8T are closer than I thought they would be. Guess that telephoto did help with the pixel 4. Great video 👌
Wow, I'm really surprised how well the S20FE did against the Pixel5....definitely re-thinking my future purchase...thanks !
now I'm also thinking to buy S20FE over the Pixel 5
I chose the s20 FE, will arrive in afew days. 👍 Not much difference between the cameras, in some situtations the Samsung is best, in some the Pixel. Even Oneplus looks decent in daylight
6:37 when Danny talks about using night mode for the pixel, I highly recommend it as a pixel 4xl user. People need to remember pixel uses mediocre to bad hardware. They catch up with their software. A major part of that software is night mode, therefore in anything that isn't perfect light, I'd recommend night mode. Even dusk situations. The pictures will always come out more detailed, less noise and the colours usually are just as good
My pixel 3 recommends night mode if there isn't enough light. It makes a big difference in photo quality. I'll be keeping my P3 for now.
You did a great job here sir! It was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much!
I love the way you create content. Looking for good places to take pictures, unlike other tech UA-camrs who only take pictures in obscure forests. Good job
Great video, you're doing the best camera tests. I'd prefer S20FE, Pixel Hardware is outdated for the price and Oneplus pics tend to the green side, in some pics color went to desaster. GCam (not only on Pixel) has a tendency to mix a little purple into pics, Samsung could decrease exposure a little.
Owning some Samsung S over the years myself (now still S10), I strongly suggest not to turn on the scene optimizer because colors get too much oversaturated. And this is my complain about your tests. The daytime scenes you're using are in bright daylight, sky blue without end. That's quite easy for cams with software pic optimizers. Try to use scene without these brutal color contrasts, cloudy whether, pics with a lot of the same colors but different brightness (e.g. pics within a forest), then you will see the difference. I really hate the optimizers nowadays turning natural green, water of lakes, sky into something noticeable artificial. Worst were some Huaweis of the P20Pro time.
Awesome Job Danby. Just what I was looking for. 😎👌🏽 I think I'll go with the Samsung galaxy FE that telephoto cam is great.
Please do 8T GCam vs stock.
yes, please 8T GCAM vs Pixel 5 GCAM
@@snifyy bro pixel stock camera is gcam
@@ashishparmar9536 I know. I wrote it for the people that don't know
Gcam is useless at this point. You can clearly see sometimes the 8t shots are better than the pixel. Then what would you need a gcam for
Oneplus camera hardware and better than the Google's by far, but the software and image processing is behind Google. Oneplus 8T with GCAM would be a monster
In my opinion, overall I think the S20 FE did a better night mode except for the front-facing camera. I noticed most of the night mode photos, the Pixel 5 and the 8T often overblown the light. Meanwhile, the S20 FE balanced out the light, and you see more details also.
Danny, a simple thank you, always enjoy your camera comparisons, probably my favorites on UA-cam.
Samsung S20 FE ❤️
Dude this is great content! Gotta be honest I was skeptical at first but your videos are really thorough and straightforward.
For the beginning video, OnePlus 8T is the best.
One of the better reviews I have seen. Most of them give an overall review. Great job on dedicating the review to solely the cameras between the three.
It's safe to say that we finally got to a point where pretty much all flagships have great camera quality and which one's the best comes to personal preference.
Love this video.
Lmao we're not quite there. Let's not forget the camera hardware on the Pixel is over 2+yrs old and it's using a lower chip. It's as though google wants the competition to come close, but hopefully next year there will be no competition lol.
@@zetmu01 We got to the point where Google has been caught up in terms of dynamic range and overall great photo quality. It's over the time where one device was the obvious winner with the competition lagging behind. That's why personal preference comes into play now. All of these flagship devices are capable of taking great shots and the differences between them are so minimal, you're not gonna be disappointed picking any of them. At video recording though, Apple still is the best. The latest iPhones take the absolute best videos and that's noticeable compared to ALL the ANdroid phones. Photos though, it depends on personal preference, as I said.
Pixels are the best, he didn't even enable the video stabilization on the Pixel
@@rwyo83 didn't even notice that lol. Indeed they're best, but they'll have to prove it beyond reasonable doubt next year. Can't wait for that!
@@zetmu01 actually, no. It Google's problem, that they decided to put low chip for this price. We (consumers) ARE at the stage, when pretty much any flagship have great camera quality. If i decide to buy Pixel, and it shoots just about the same as other flagships, should i been calming myself down and justifying it, that is has dated camera hardware? will it work? No. We got the phones that shoot about the same afterall, regardless of hardware. Telling yourself, that IF they change sensor, if they change lenses , if they change chip, they will rule the mobile photography again, it doesn't work mate. It will not make the pictures you shooting any better NOW. 🤷♂️ You have what you have. Phone with dated hardware, that is being able to compete just because software is so good. So it is unclear, why did you even put this comment on.
This is a great comparison. Thank you for all your hard work!
Love the versatility of the S20 FE 5g. I think the 8ts white balance is all over the place and is clearly the worst of the three. I was a touch disappoint ed with the Pixal. It has good selfies and portrait s but after the long wait the ultra wide wasn't up to the main cameras standard. I love having a main, ultra wide and telephoto cameras, there's a tool for every situation. The S20 FEs weakness is it's over soft selfie cam. Not only do I think the S20 FE wins in the camera section,, but is a more compelling smartphone package overall. Thanks for this interesting and well balanced video. Cheers
Funny thing is the majority of pixel 5 reviews have went out of their way to mention that the OnePlus 8T can go toe-to-toe with the camera on it
I think the oneplus 8T is the best deal, because of oxygen OS, its performance will also be much better than both the FE and pixel 5, due to better optimization, I don't use phone camera anyway 😂

cool shirt u have on when u did the selfie test!
The pixel 5 goes to prove that you don't need more than a 12.2 MP sensor. Cleaner, natural looking, and more color accurate pictures across the board. The Samsung is second but it is not that close.
Dude, no one's trying to look natural.. Everyone's posting pre or post filtering.
The Pixel5 seems to have more natural colors but image accuracy, as well as control over lighting conditions, say that the S20 FE is the winner. Having seen photos from the Note 20 Ultra, there is quite a gap between those and photos seen here but the Note also costs a lot more of course. It is, however, an argument against your 12.2MP is enough point.
Huh? The FE matched the pixel in most photos and actually did better in a few ... How is that not anything but close ? And the FE is also a 12mp camera so ...

Danny! Not sure if you know, in the settings for oneplus night mode you can set a tripod timer up to 30 seconds. It should auto detect when it's not moving at all
Dang didn’t see that. I wish they would enable this to automatic since I do “auto” testing basically. I will keep that in mind for my next comparisons thanks!
@@dannywinget I definitely agree it should be an auto function for sure. It's in the camera settings all the way at the bottom, completely out of the way. Side note, OnePlus' camera app on the 8 series is a bit odd in my opinion, not enough options, even for an auto shooter.
Love your comparison video,Danny and I think 8T is my favorite.

Nice comparison! Can I ask the places where you took the pictures? Especially at night? It looked super cool!

Nothing is wrong with one ui 2.0 to 2.5
Downlown Nova Launcher on FE! That is what I am doing. Nova launcher is better than stock Pixel launcher in my opinion (I was Pixel 4 owner). S20 FE with Nova launcher is so smooth and packed with features, this is the ultimate experience.

Honestly they all look great! I have an 8t and for what I do it's fine. I will say google 3xl still takes amazing pics, so I'd imagine the 5 is even better, but honestly the differences are so small. One Plus gets bagged on a lot about their camera, not sure why. My 7t with updates looks great, my 8t is just as good minus the telephoto, don't miss it much. Then the 9t upcoming in fall is supposed to be game changing. Can't wait, but we all should be content honestly with whatever phone cameras we are using.
you always makes the best camera comparision videos.great job .
I have to hand it to OnePlus, they made some serious improvements to their cameras. The cropped shots retain a lot of detail and although sometimes the color is off, it's up there with Pixel and Samsung.
Well they are in the flagship price range so they better do it
@@mehulrathod7185 all three are in the same price range
@@TheTamrielDrunkard OnePlus used to have worse cameras than the competition, and while people would complain about it, it was universally accepted as the price was much lower than the rest of the pack. Now that they have raised the prices, they are expected to deliver, hence "they better do it".
@@BarAlexC the three phones in this video are not flagship price ranges. Mid-tier price ranges, between budget and flagship. This is the only thing I was commenting on.
@@TheTamrielDrunkard Given that current flagships go easily past 1k, i somewhat agree with you.
However:
-Pixel 5 is the current flagship from google.
-until 2018, flagships used to be 600-800. just because samsung and apple pulled the prices so terribly high (followed by others, eventually), won't change that 600+ should still be flagship range (regardless of them going to 2k and beyond), imo.

As a bonus, I would have love a minute or less on macro photo. On the one hand I'm very doubtful about the 5Mpx Macro module but on the other hand I'm not sure others can do this (except with cropping, as you showed in this video). I'm still seaking for data on this module.
Anyway, you probably totally changed my opinion on the 8T because I watched much reviews from other (great/big) UA-camrs and the critisim against the 8T made me doubt.

Thanks ! !
Man thank fuck for a good 8T comparison. Most people are nitpicking very very small things and make a huge deal out of it and bashing the 8T camera for NO reason. I have an 8T and I genuinely feel it has a great camera especially after the updates. Agreed nightmode needs some MAJOR improvements mainly fixing the colour temperature everything is extra warm and just making the picture a little colder makes the shots look incredible because the detail is great and the noise but yeah they can build that into thr software

S20 FE is the best all-round in my opinion, it has the most versatile setup out of the bunch and it actually did the best controlling light sources in night shots while the pixel blows them up.
I think Pixel isn't the king of photography anymore. Google should upgrade their hardware ASAP.
Pixel is still king they will have better hardware next year because they know this will be their last year before other manufacturers will surpass them next year with their software computation While Hauwei is now out of the picture!

Pixel fanboys are still stuck in the days when the pixel used to have the best camera. Google is still using the same crappy main camera sensor, and you can see it struggling in the view finder when taking a night shot.
