Thanks for showing how to do the cross pieces! Nice project. I noticed that these boxes are on Amazon for up to $110.00 each. I think I have about 20.00 into this.
I used 1/2" ply for mine and cut grooves 1/8" deep and 3/4" apart on all four panels. Gives it a sorta shiplap look. I really like the hinge idea, but if you don't connect all 4 panels together (just have 2 sets of 2) they will easily stand up together on their own, and they'll stow away easier too.
Great idea Chris covering up the tree stand, you could have used magnets on the opposite corner that way they can be folded and stored flat till next Christmas. Merry Christmas to your Family from our Family
Yes. I set the tree down on the box. The hinges I used to hold the sides together allow it to shift a little in order to wrap around the stand. Just make sure you make it large enough to go around the tree stand

Exactly what I needed to see! Thanks for sharing!

Great idea!
You don't have to use magnets. The two hinged sides will stand up together on their own.
Thank you for the video. Also….thank you for adding in the bloopers. We all do it.
Good job thx for sharing
Love this! What were you spraying on the wood when finished?
Just a spray shellac
Really nice!
Great job.
Good video!
Nice job.
So are all 4 panels connected together? Or did you just make 2 pairs?
They are connected together but, if you do only pairs, then you could fold them up to store them easier.
@@BOCraftsman So Then do you have to set the tree stand down into the box? Are the 4 sides permanently connected?

@@BOCraftsman Thanks. It was tricky to envision. I might do 3 hinges and a latch.
