This truck is really clean & original. Please don't hack it up with all sort of mod's & re-powers. Buff out the paint, repair the rusted out spots as needed, tune-up the 318 and then enjoy some 1970 vintage Mopar the way it's supposed to be enjoyed. I've kept my fathers '69 D-200 that he bought in 1970 in original condition with the factory 383 and am really glad I have resisted hacking it up. It's way too cool the way it left the factory in '69!!

Yes there's quite a few NOS stuff for this that can be found on e-bay and other sale sites. Good luck on your dad's truck !

My wiring was a night mare and I didn't want to spend tons of money on a new harness, so I basically added a fuse block on Drivers side kick panel, the original fuse block phenolic cracks after 40 years so I just cut wires over as needed, plus the drip rail leaks onto the old fuse block pass thru, I built a shroud out of a plastic container to keep the water from dripping onto it. Im no purist for sure just use the truck everyday for work, shes painted implement green Rustoleum. Best thing to do is ground everything on the frame and firewall it will save you tons of issues when you get to lighting problems.

I have a 1970 D300 and I am about to embark on this similar journey. Where are you finding parts for this vehicle? I have everything original (some bent things here and there) but no need to buy replacement OEM mirrors or anything like that. I simply want to replace cables, hoses, filters etc. Great truck and work!

I haven't bought any OEM parts at all. I got a few things at Auto Zone, found my grille on ebay and that's about it. I haven't done much to it yet. Facebook has a couple of groups for the Dodge sweptline, many guys selling parts and have tons of knowledge when you have questions.

great job -and to think the previous owner could so easily have just replaced the switch -one wire at a time -or just take a photo with your phone

Same issues with my 69 my dad bypassed the Solenoid one day after losing my keys now I can’t start from my ignition only at the relay any tips?

Oh man. Sorry, I don't have any tips. You can kind of see what I did, but I don't know enough to really be any help. There are a couple sweptline groups on Facebook. Those guys can probably point you in the direction of a wiring diagram because i can't remember where I found the one I used when trying to wire my ignition switch. Good Luck.

I had the front bumper straightened, finally found a grille and just got that installed. Next I plan to order some floor pans and install those maybe this summer or in the fall.

Im building a 70 d200 as well i took the body off and am sticking it on a 1996 4x4 Cummins frame .... ... how tall do you want the truck is the question you need to ask yourself i can set the cab reasonably low on the frame but the bed will sit on the frame allot higher ... so you will have to raise the cab to fit with the bed ...... if i were you i would just stick a Cummins in it and make it work ... you can always stick a straight axle up front with some fabrication... maybe box the frame ?

I've thought about maybe dropping in a 4bt so I don't have to cut the firewall.
