- I'm in heaven at Pensacola Beach Florida and may never want to leave this place! So far, this is the best beach ever with the beautiful white sands, green and blue water, and they have 2 dog parks on the beach which is a huge plus in my book for my dog. During my van life travel vlog, we start from Pensacola Florida, and headed towards Panama City Beach Florida for another National Geographic Scenic Highway and Byway road! She's a beauty even with the evidence of hurricane damage from 2020. The Pensacola Bay Bridge was out since a barge hit it during the storm so you have to go around to Garcon Bridge in order to get to Pensacola Beach on the Santa Rosa Island. Just beautiful.

Hi, I'm Amber and in May 2017 I started full time RV living. I started this nomadic journey after selling my house and all my belongings to pursue this crazy dream of traveling full time in an RV and creating incredible memories.
After 1 year of traveling, I sold my 26 foot Winnebago Class C RV for a more nimble Class B van on a Promaster 2500 chassis. Now in my 4th year of RVing in my camper van, I'm still loving this RV lifestyle and being a digital nomad. I almost always boondock in nature and really enjoy that off grid living.

Lily needs a little umbrella for the beach....seriously, i have seen this and thought it made sense. The sun is VERY INTENSE

I was stationed in Pensacola for 4 years when I was in the Navy. You reminded me of all the things I miss. If you ever go back that way you might want to see the National Naval Aviation Museum on NAS Pensacola. Keep having fun!

Took my kids to Pensacola Beach in the late 90s and my son loved it so much he joined the navy and was stationed there.
Thank you for providing such good details about the areas you visit. On future trips to Florida this will be very helpful to us. Lily makes me laugh as well-she acts like a very young pup and I can't believe that she is actually a senior canine.

Welcome to Florida, Amber! Lily is becoming the star of this show! LOL! I love watching her doing her zoomies on the beautiful white sand beach! And the shot of her curled up in your bag was priceless! I think you and Lily have found your happy place! Believe it or not, even though I'm born and raised in Florida, I have not had the opportunity to explore the Panhandle area of the state other than passing through on my way out west. I would love to explore all of the beautiful state parks that Florida has to offer in a van like yours. I'm still working full time, but keep going back and forth on whether to save up to buy a cabin in the mountains of North Georgia to stay part of the year, or to rent part of the year up there or invest in the Van life. I live in one of those cute light blue/medium blue houses that you referred to in the video, although I'm in the City limits of Tampa, not on the beach. I feel the same way. I love my blue-colored house. There's something so calming about the different shades of blue! Loving your vlogs! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Florida!

The beaches look stunning, lovely white sand such blue water. That green pole was a 5G tower. That dome house looks like The Jetsons should be living in it, its cute. You can not out run a hurricane, its best to stay put where you are safe.

Only us from living in Wa can appreciate the AM warm sun. The AM sunrise are awesome. We are in Cold New York delivering and yesterday was bad wind n downpours on our wsy here for several hours while driving, and I hate rain.

Florida is great, but we are not just beaches but i love the all year growing season for my garden.. conoeing down the rivers, and the night life, always something open 24/7.

I have enjoyed your recent travels. We were stuck at South Padre Island during the cold spell. We bailed from our camper van and spent 5 days in a hotel. Your travels mirror ours. Only we started in Florida in December and worked our way to Texas. When you started today, I thought oh no she's in for a surprise that highway is closed. I love Florida beaches.

Great video ! Brings back a lot of memories. Pensacola is where we went for vacation when we were kids.To give you a hint of how long ago that was, the spaceship looking house you saw leaving Pensacola was there in the 1960's.One other thing, the barge that took out the bridge was torn away from the dock in a hurricane, so I would say a hurricane took out the bridge. Enjoy

First time we drove the peninsula was 1966. Very few tourists, then in the 90’s Mother-in-law lived in Ft Walton Beach and still not really crowded, but was starting to build up. Still Beautiful beaches though.
You found the UFO house! Yes, we had barges all over the place after Hurricane Sally. That bridge was brand new and the construction company working on the other part of the bridge didn't tie down their barges properly. It's caused huge headaches and major traffic issues.

Thanks for another great Oceanside video. The water is my happy place too and I get excited and feel at peace every time I’m at the ocean. When I was still working I used to go almost daily after work to walk at the beach, it was a great stress reliever. Unfortunately once I retired I moved away from the ocean and it’s now more than an hour drive, and with traffic easily double that. Only 2 more days and I’m camping for a week at the beach and can’t wait. I bought the book you use for the scenic byways and plan on perusing it while I’m camping to see drives in my area. Love seeing Lily on the sand. I had a very tiny 2 lb chihuahua with me at a dog beach in my area. I always keep my dogs on a leash in public. She was happily running around barking, playing and enjoying the beach when suddenly like a bat out of hell a huge dog came charging at her. The owner was yelling and chasing their dog, but the dog didn’t slow down. I heard the commotion in time to yank my dogs harness and leash simultaneously to the big dog leaping at mine. It was terrifying and my dog would’ve been killed I’m certain had the big dog landed on or grabbed her. The owner was apologetic and said her dog was not aggressive and that the dog must’ve mistaken my dog for a squeaky toy😏. Now I won’t allow any big dogs near my small chihuahuas, no matter how friendly the owner says they are. A small dog like the one Lily was close to is about the biggest I’ll let my dogs near, better safe than sorry. Thanks again for the daily videos. I think your channel will explode 🤯. It’s one of my favorites for sure, based on the comments many others feel the same. Happy and safe travels always🐶👍🏼🚐♥️

I'm 6 hours from the Gulf beaches and I LOVE that whole area; PCB, Destin, Pensacola, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores....all those places are amazing and I try to get down there once a year. Your happiness is super contagious!

Yes, that was a tragic day in May of 1980. I remember driving to school that morning in Tampa when the news came over the radio, and it was pouring rain too!
@@eleanormassaro5195 I didn’t live in the area then, but it is such an important event in the area the story continues to be told. I don’t go over the bridge often, but sometimes I feel uneasy, I wonder if it is because of the sadness associated with the location. The new bridge is very beautiful!

@@AmberJBaldwin yes, some remaining bits turned into recreation areas. I know the new bridge is taller and stronger, but it is still unnerving to see large boats go under.
That was the same ship Pilot that was on the Texaco Capricorn that hit and sank the USCGC BLACKTHORN in Tampa Bay!
