Although theory and practice are two different worlds, I can now say to you reasonably, that I know how to make a Viking beard axe 💪😊👌
Very good Job! 👍🏻👍🏻
I really like that you welded the beard on rather than drew it out. ).
Awesome....im not ready for that yet but im inspired

gorgeous, would you know of a diagram at the stage where you are taking the steel to half-width-ish before folding it to make the eye?

Finally a good video where they forged by hand not with a power hammer
Nice skill weld forge.
What type of steel did you use for the axe? Looks like 1/2" x 1" (12mm x 25mm) stock?
Very nice! Question what size stock did u start with?
I learned alot today im young and i dont own a forge buy im spending money for one .also in wondering what is that pounder u put on the hot metal?
Feuer verschweißt, eine super gute Arbeit
How big was that starting stock? It looks really small on video
I'm really curious why the offsets for the eye were on opposite sides?
Um machado fantástico. Parabéns
Awesome!!

Amazing
What oil would you suggest for hardening?
Кузнец просто молодец. Хорошая работа.
Nice job
Excellent video brother. Where can I find steel of thickness used in this video?
Where did you find enough Vikings to make it?
im absolutely amazed at your talent what i would give for one of these thank you for sharing awesome
Beautiful craftsmanship what do you charge for an axehead???
Art!
Badass. how do I get started on stuff like this?
do you still have your power hammer ? Don't mark over the egde of the anvil cold steel. One day you will blunt them or do a hugde chip. Btw.Nice axe. One more thing.....i can see anvil in the back what brand it is ? How much it weight and why you are not forging on it ?
yes, I do still have the powerhammer, I will do more videos with it in the future. Don't worry about the edges, they are welded on with hard facing rods, they do wear with time but it is a really convenient way to mark material and I can always repair them. the anvil in the back is one I made myself and I only use it for finer stuff and more accurate work since it has the flatter face. thank you for commenting
Ok I understand :) Keep a good work !
Do you foresee any more of these for sale in the near future??
Absolutely awesome, take my money! 💵💵💰💰
What kinda quench oil do you use
U can use motor oil or canola oil or vegetable oil
Nice!
Nice. My wife jusf ordered a hammer from you for me. Cant wait :-)
Well done
Espectacular !!!
Great video, keep them coming!
what is your step down measurements? and fantastic job I've been looking for someone to do a bearded axe that doesn't use a power hammer and it doesn't get much better than that great job
my brother wants me to forge one for him and if you don't mind I'd like to use this video as a process method
Very good
O que você usou para unir essas duas pecas? Obrigado e boa noite!
cool axe
Is it necessary to harden the blade in oil? Or can that just be done in water too?
Ward Van Damme It can be done both ways, it just depends on the steel
I definitely wanna try forging my own axes. Any pointers how to get started? Never forged in my life.
Best if you start with blacksmithing basics and move to axes later on.
does anybody know where to find good decent sized anvils in the uk?
Wow beautiful job sir
Do you see any more of these for sale in the future sir??)
dirk d probably I will make more, but I don't know when, follow my fb page and my etsy store to stay up to date with what is available.
Thanks for watching
