One thing I've learned from this channel is it's impossible to escape the burn of Papa Yam. Had a feeling the Fury was gonna be in this mix. Maybe it's just the area I live at but people stop me in traffic, when I get off the bike anywhere, and every time it's always something like "Man, that's a beautiful bike." or "Did you build that?" or "What is that it looks amazing?". It's not for everyone but for what I paid for it it's smiles for miles.

You are full of it. Too obsessed with looks over function. The BMW was a nice basic bike for urban riders. Had one for a loaner while my bike was in for repair/service. Nice riding bike which was reasonably priced for a BMW.
As a trucker that delivers bikes for a living, I have delivered a few of these to their beaming and proud new owners, chomping my tongue the whole time. Lol

Has a motorcycle company with a "mature" target demographic ever made a motorcycle aimed at the "young, urban demographic" that was a sales success? I can't think of one.
That's actually an interesting question I'd like to know. It's seems like I've mostly seen 600cc sports bikes, Zx-6 and R6. Hayabusa seems to be popular to. Though I'm sure none of them were aimed at urban demographics.

Asking YN about anything other than Ducatti/Yamaha/Honda sport motorcycles is dangerous. It's like going to Harley Davidson fanatic channel & asking about anything else.
That being said, I recommend checking per model for reliability, the rewiers are only ones who clarify it accurately. And Inmotion is best for beginners. And they're fantastic for getting around town & can go off road.

Serious question. I know Yammie will probably not reply. But if someone from the community could help if someone manages to read this. I am 6’8ft. 240lbs. I have ridden a bike on and off my entire life. However have never brought a bike for myself. Have rented them over the summers and used a Monster that belonged to a friend who lent it to me for over a year.
I am committing to purchase a bike in the near future. I am willing to use it as daily rider. My commute time is a little over 25 mins and everything I do is in a 10mile radius. I live in Mexico City. So traffic will be an issue. I want to have fun with it and plan to keep for a while. More than 3-4 years. What bike would you recommend? Thanks guys.
Honda CB500X, CB500F or CBR500R. Start out with an all-rounder. As your tastes develop, buy something more focused. At 6' 8" you may be one the few people for which ape hangers and mid-controls makes sense. Hasta la vista, baby!

I remeber the same aprilia moto 6.5 standing around fresh and new for about 3 years in a row at a local dealership. They droped the price about 15% each year, still no body wants to have it. 😅
My '05 Ducati Multistrada 1000 S is gorgeous! At least from the side and rear it is. They say that true beauty has flaws and it has definitely grown on me

Even though I will admit that the looks are polarizing, the BMW F650cs has a well deserved reputation as a solid and reliable motorcycle. It is fun to ride due to low weight, making it a very flickable machine......

The BMW F650 CS was actually my first I bought, because the way it looked. It looked so different from most bikes and I do like my strange bikes. Currently own a Yamaha TDM 900, What I think does not really exist in the US. Its strange, but I like it.
The F650 platform (some Aprillias have the same engine also) I super great for a beginner. I still miss the bike and will buy one some day again. Mine was black tho, so it didn't have a crazy color combo :)

Edit the honda fury is targeted at people who want a chopper but don't want to spend 5 times as much money as it's probably worth and a bike they can count on to get them where they need to go.
I'm not hating on choppers even kind of want one of big dogs probably the mastiff but let's face it they are costly and even if reliable they have almost no fuel range AND I WANT MUH FUEL GUAGE.

The scarver is the bike that got me interested in motorcycles as a kid, not because I thought it was so cool or anything like that, but it was because my dad got one when I was a kid. I saw my dad on his motorcycle and I always thought it looked stupid, but it made me tell my self, "I'm gonna get a bike one day." Here I am nearly 20 years later and my whole family is telling me to sell my bike because they think I'm gonna get myself killed. They all cite my dads motorcycle accident that he had on that very bike where he nearly died. For what it's worth that bike does have one redeeming factor and that is that it can do some dank wheelies.

I feel Honda jumped upon the popularity of the TV series "American Chopper" and decided to introduce a factory chopper of their own. During this time period everyone was watching the guys at OCC build custom bikes and the idea of picking up a factory bike with a warranty was appealing. To be honest, the first time I saw a Fury I thought it looked rather cool. This lasted for a couple minutes until I realized a good bit of what looked like chrome metal was actually plastic. Ughhh

My son rides a Honda VT1300CS Sabre. It's the 1300cc less aggressive looking version of the Fury. It's his first bike. It was cheap, and it'll meet his needs until he gets out of medical school. The paint quality is sub-par for a cruiser. It's almost like the paint color is molded into the plastic like my Kawasaki KLR650, which is expected on a dual-sport bike. Asian motorcycles are notorious from chrome plated plastics, and Hondas are no different, even on the Goldwing GL1800. It's one of the reasons I sold my Goldwing and bought a H.D. Ultra Limited with the Black Out option. Harley tour bikes have their plastics, but not chrome plated plastics. That's another reason why Harleys are so damn expensive.

I used to watch American Chopper before I realized it was fake, just like Pawn Stars and American Pickers. The thing that got me believing these bikes are inferior when it comes to safety is the extremely thin spoke designs on the front wheels of some of the bikes they built. We all know trying to handle a chopper on the road is like trying to handle a stripper at a strip joint. It won't happen, and you'll most likely get extremely hurt in doing so. I know quite extensively about structural engineering in my line of work. I am convinced the spokes on those wheels will snap off the rim if excessive side force is applied to the front wheel, such as cornering or sweeping turns. Those bikes are only meant to be driven in a straight line. Have you ever ridden a chopper? It's the most uncomfortable damn thing I ever rode. 50 miles before taking a break seems like an eternity.

You've missed out the king of ugly, but then I'm not sure if it was ever sold in the US. The 2005-07 BMW R1200ST.
As a sports-tourer it's apparently excellent; it's a boxer twin tourer so the sort of bike BMW has been making since the dawn of time. But the front headlight... Again, it apparently gives superb vision at night but good God it's fugly. Has a bit of a cult following these days in Europe.
