It was so much fun to hike with you! Thanks for all the video content! I'm looking forward to reliving the trip with Brooke! 185 miles is just a taste of your through hike. Very proud of you and kids adventure! -Storytime
Thanks SOS. These videos are the best. And it’s always a good day when you see more calendar year triple crowners than bears. Lol 😂 Thanks again for the great content- you really have a talent for this. Peace and happy trails to you and Kid.
As a Yooper (from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where pasties are basically the national food) pasties need ketchup, or if you’re very old school (and wrong IMO) gravy.
@@annieaardvark7683 oh man, you had to bring up Jean Kay's, I'm going to be thinking about that for weeks now lol for my money, best pasties in the world.
I watched and reviewed your gear vlog that you posted early in this series. I noted you did not recommend the Pocket Rocket 2 so assume (maybe you discussed the failure in that blog and I forgot) it was the stove that failed? I use the PR 2 Deluxe so am curious if you know what about your PR 2 failed? Enjoyed your detail in this vlog. Bear sightings always add to the day but can make one a little uneasy at night. I drove through Missoula headed for Idaho in Sept last year (had backpacked in The Winds for 5 days; a special place for sure) and stayed at The Aspen in east Missoula (a great Mom and Pop motel for a fair price by the way). When I took off the next morning at about 9 it was so smoky from fires to the west you literally could not see the sun or it’s outline, just the glow of it through the smoke. Didn’t make for a fun day driving into that. I can only imagine what hiking in it would be like.
Yes! Two different pocket rocket 2's actually broke on me (both threaded where they attach to the fuel can and it caused leaking or it wouldn't release fuel at all). After the first broke, I assumed it was the fine dust in New Mexico that had caused the threading, so I was very diligent with keeping the second one clean, but had the same issue. Great tip about the Aspen! And yes the hiking through the smoke was a little rough on the lungs, luckily we got to wait out some of it in Augusta.
You seemed to hike slower with the guys behind you? Idk the footage seems like you're walking slower than usual. Maybe that's the stubborn thing you talk about lol
Haha I might have been walking a bit slower in that clip just cus I was holding the camera up. I think I actually walk a bit faster when they’re behind me because I don’t want to slow them down TOO much.

good to know!! I'll try that next time - overall enjoyed the concept but it was a little dry.
@@eliseott I've definitely always thought they needed gravy but I would 100% use ketchup also, ha

I’ve hiked with shotgun, solid dude
This particular Shotgun is a lady, but also a solid human.
