Some years ago I would say something similar to this, but I realised that in most countries teachers are very underpayed. It's really hard to respect ones job when you know that you deserve a lot more for what you are doing, and even more knowing that you invested a lot of money and time to get there, even if it is your dream, and the fact that there is organised education plans or even censure in some countries over certain subjects is also despicable.

I couldn’t agree more with this video, these adjectives are, at least, a few important ones that a good teacher has to have. From my point of view, a good teacher is the one who know very well what is he or she going to explain in the class, who prepare the classes and organize it. Also, is the one who have a vocation in his or her subject, the teacher that try to find different ways of explaining the same (as we call is creative and imaginative), the one that try to relate the topic with quotidian situations. From my point of view a good teacher has to be a good communicator (as Rick said) because it's crucial to know how to transmit and also a good teacher has to manage accurately when he/she can make jokes with his/her pupils and when he/she has to focus on work.
What is a school? In my opinion, school is our second home, because we spend more time here than anywhere else. Classmates, teachers, parents - we are all like one family. Here we learn to understand each other, to forgive, to support friends in a difficult moment, to help seniors. Probably, we can say that the school is our friend and mentor. I totally agree with all the qualities that the students had mentioned. For me, a good teacher is someone who is kind, fair and responsive; someone who cares about students and their feelings and conveys values to them.
As it is said, a good teacher has to be a good communicator, fair and close. But above all these features, what makes a good teacher is their passion. This profession is not like others, to be a teacher you must love teaching, you must be personally involved because you're educating the people of the future.
The way you're with your students is going to condition them throughout their lives.
In my opinion, I completely agree with all the descriptions that makes the students of the qualities of the good teachers. As far as I am concerned, a good teacher is a person who teaches values, who is creative and does dynamic classes and is respectful with each other trying to understand everyone.

Otherwise, if he/she is not enthusiastic about the topic that is being taught, students would think the subject is boring and they would disconnect and not learn at all. On the other hand, as most of the students say on the video, a good teacher has to be able to connect with children. A good teacher has to be funny and approachable but, at the same time, has to be able to stablish some limits and be firm enough (a teacher may never forget that he/she is the one that it is supposed to control the class environment). From my point of view, the adjectives mentioned on the video are totally necessary in any kind of teacher, because this profession is not about reading a book out loud or telling students what to do and how. Some years ago I would say something similar to this, but I realised that in most countries teachers are very underpayed. It's really hard to respect ones job when you know that you deserve a lot more for what you are doing, and even more knowing that you invested a lot of money and time to get there, even if it is your dream, and the fact that there is organised education plans or even censure in some countries over certain subjects is also despicable.
First of all, what I think is most important for being a good teacher is knowing how to balance the responsibility for your work with empathy for your students.
On the one hand, the dedication and motivation you put into your classes says a lot about your respect and admiration for the profession and, moreover, it motivates the students.
On the other hand, empathy for students can help them understand their concerns and help them not to be involved in their educational process.

From my point of view, a good teacher is the one who know very well what is he or she going to explain in the class, who prepare the classes and organize it. Also, is the one who have a vocation in his or her subject, the teacher that try to find different ways of explaining the same (as we call is creative and imaginative), the one that try to relate the topic with quotidian situations.
What is more, a good teacher is the one who is strict but in the correct moment, without being authoritarian, and who make their students to be critical thinkers. Also, they have to be respectful with everyone and empathetic, trying to find solutions if something happens.
Finally, I could say that a teacher is the one that guide our knowledge without influence in it and the one that look at us as a person.

I think this video is a good summary about the different characteristics that a teacher has to have. But I want to add an essential characteristic. A good teacher has to be able to know how to track each student. Every student is different and we have to identify how they can see the learning something interesting and attractive.
Personally, I think that what makes a good teacher is someone who are enthusiastic, that really love the work that she/ he does and transmits you the desire to learn. Also, It must be friendly with the students but enough to control the class .
To begin, I have to say that the descriptions that have been made by secondary students about what makes a good teacher it made me think deeply about my future profession as a teacher and all the teachers which I have had contact during my school life.
From my point of view, that's not enough that a teacher knows about the subject that teaches to be a good teacher. I really think that a good teacher goes much further. A good teacher is who pretends to open the mind of his students to discover and explain the world that surround them relating to the subject that is being taught and also with the facts that can affect to their ordinary life.
However, that's not all. There's a primordial aspect which includes in the relationship between teacher-student, and that's the communication. The best teachers know how to treat their students and the humour can be a key piece for that, but the teacher always has to be recognized by his authority, and they have to make to be respected.

This video shows many students talking about the qualities than a teacher should have. I agree with their opinion, but from my point of view, having a good communication and motivate the students are characteristics that a teacher must have.
First of all, I agree with most high school students who describe the characteristics that a good teacher should have. I personally believe that a good teacher must be a good communicator, clear, friendly, inspirational and he must show and convey that he enjoys teaching.

First girl says that a good teacher is “someone who’s got a sense of humor as well because if you’re willing to have a laugh with your students then like you’re going to earn their respect, so they’re more likely to listen to what you say”. Well, it’s true that a sense of humor always attracts public, but I desagrre with idea that “you will earn their respect”, because if you abuse it about this, it may cause the opposite effect.
I couldn't agree more with those points of views. In my opinion, personal involvement and were able to explain with authenticity and passion are the most important characteristics that a great teacher has. As I see it, teaching is about to have a fluent dialogue with the students and develop their passion for learning. Is also part of being a better teacher personalize their coaching and having feedback. We, as students, also have the responsibility of the good class operation.

Nowadays, begin a teacher is much more than teaching everything you know about the subject, but what really matters is having a balance between knowleagde and skills. We have all been students and we have fixed on the empathetic, entusiastic teacher, that is, all those skills where the focus is on the students. That is why as future teacher we must find this balace, to get to know our students and help them understand the topics to be taught
What all these students are talking about is not the academic capacities of the teachers, they are talking about their character and the way they treat the students. It's important to the students to feel that the teachers enjoy their job and care about their students, so they can enjoy too.
Being a good teacher is a about listening your students, knowing them and adjust every aspect of your teaching depending on what they need.
I do agree with the opinion of all the students. A good teacher is someone involved in the subject, inspirational, active, approachable, friendly, with good communication skills, etc.
But to me, the most important thing and according to what Ryan and Emma said, a good teacher has to be involved in the subject, super enthusiastic and also knowing how to relate the topics to the context of their students’ lives. Personally, I think that sometimes can be boring learning something if you don’t know how to apply that or in which real situation you will use that apprenticeship. However, if you can relate what you are studying with a real situation or with something interesting for you, that will motivate you to pay more attention in class.

From my point of view a good teacher has to be a good communicator (as Rick said) because it's crucial to know how to transmit and also a good teacher has to manage accurately when he/she can make jokes with his/her pupils and when he/she has to focus on work.
What is a school? In my opinion, school is our second home, because we spend more time here than anywhere else. Classmates, teachers, parents - we are all like one family. Here we learn to understand each other, to forgive, to support friends in a difficult moment, to help seniors. Probably, we can say that the school is our friend and mentor. We share love and joy, sadness and failures with the school. I really enjoy studying in my high school! School is an open door to knowledge!
In my opinion, the characteristics mentioned in the video are important to become a good teacher. I totally agree that teachers must be excited about what they are doing In order to achieve better communication. Another thing that is very important, as Harriete has said, is to be friendly but being able to control the class, only in this way, will earn the respect of the students. I agree with hardly all the adjectives that appear throughout the video, but in my opinion the most important thing that makes a good teacher is to be a good communicator. I mean, it’s very important how you communicate with people, therefore, it’s essential for a teacher to be a good communicator.
However, it’s also important for a teacher being enthusiastic with its work because if you want that students want to learn, it’s very important that a teacher also has that enthusiasm on teaching.
