I felt that people who don’t watch Corridor Crew must have been so confused by that video.
What a way to get them to subscribe to this channel 🤔🤔🤔
I actually watched corridor crew before finding this channel like a year ago.
@@leolizard3152 Same, took me along time to even realize there was a 'main' channel.
Black_Wink I realized that right now as you said it! I was wondering why I couldn’t find the video they were talking about on this channel.
i watch corridor crew and i was still so confused about that video, it was... bad? (dont flame me) idk i just didnt like it, it felt like reconstituted 10 year old memes made in what amounted to source film maker. like a bad machinima.

My dad watched your robot soldier video on Facebook and thought that the government was actually making them. Then he lectured me on how robots are taking all our jobs and we better work extra hard to get a job.
ah. sounds like a very dad type thing to do. see something that’s edited or staged on facebook, think it’s real, and lecture his kid(s) about why it’s bad and/or wrong.

0:12 - Sounds like Sam just left Kerbins atmosphere
Not just exited the atmosphere, but also raised the periapsis higher than 70km.
what i loved most about the janky nature of the video was that it's *THEIR* reality, in the world of video games, some things are just jank, you can't perfectly apply natural physics to a game, and i liked that about this, the clipping textures, the hand spazzing in the end, it's like the characters of actual games came to life toy story style
i hope there's more, like them reacting to game cutscenes, it'd be the perfect next step, like reacting to bollywood or something
The literal definition of "it's a feature, not a bug." Hahaha
Wow, a free app, you might already have an iPhone and just a one little thing more...
A 20 000 $ MOCAP SUIT
Really, I think it comes down to what is your time worth? If you're doing something small, one person type deal like Sam just did. Maybe hit up some repositories and get some prebuilt animations, people sitting in chairs, waving their arms. Easy stuff to attach to skeletons. You'd hand animate very little.
The real important bit, is like what same did, he had active cutaways for character background building, the suit just made that stuff the absolute easiest to pull off.
Someone without a suit, could use Vive/Index/Rift type mocap. Or, at the very bottom rung, even Kinect.
Just about ease of use and price. Don't take this as preaching to you, more just an explanation with your joke as a springboard. I am very interested in the future of Unreal shows and creation.

r/whoosh. Dude, take a joke, stop.
@Pug-o in a Suit-o Yeah, I'm aware, even acknowledged that. Calm down.
That's a real pain in the ass lmao, I'll check if there is alternative or cheap DIY suit
Mixamo is a great alternative.
i just want to take a moment and appriciate the fact sam did almost everything by himself
there is so much you can do in a real-time environment that would have been difficult to achieve in a traditional film set. I definitely am looking forward to seeing more content like this. Sam has done such a great job considering he picked up the tool only a few months ago.
Here's a good idea for a video: VFX artists react to fan made videos
Some Examples:
-VADER EPISODE ONE: SHARDS OF THE PAST
-Star Wars SC 38 Reimagined
-Battle of the Dreadnoughts
-The Great Martian War (1913-1917)
-Dawn Under Heaven
-Metal Gear Solid 6 Fan Trailer
Honestly, the stuff you guys do always blows me away. Always going 1 step beyond. Makes my day to see an upload on either Corridor or Corridor Crew channel
Yes! These guys are phenomenal
Animators reading the title:
Mhm mhm yes tell me more
lmao
Yeah sure dude xD
YOU KNOW A sponsore IS COMING WHEN CAMERA CUTS TO JAKE
I love how Corridor Crew is still going strong during quarantine!
He even added the reflections wren recorded on his helmet
Studio 4, even further immortalised in Corridor content.
YT tripping rn but wow I've never been this early
It is tripping. It says that I’m not subbed to someone then when I press the account it says I’m subbed to them...
The Unreal Camera app reminds me of this dude on Instagram who's experimenting with turning his VR headset into a virtual camera rig. He goes by Battlefront Captures and he's currently working on a Star Wars animated fan film I think. It might be worth checking out for a future VFX artists react.
It’s funny how he and Corridor released basically the same video almost at the same time.
@@DimaJeydar Illuminati confirmed. Half life 3 confirmed. Coronavirus was released on purpose confirmed. The universe just imploded.
I really love Jake and I get that he's sort of the business side of things, but I am kinda sad that he's become just the "sponsor guy" He puts a lot of heart into his sponsor segments and I usually watch them because I like Jake; but there's only so many times I care to hear about squarespace. I'm to the point now where when I see Jake's face I feel myself brace to get advertised at and I hate that feeling.
That makes us appreciate all the instances that Jake does serious things. Like legal info, carpentry, dad stuff, etc. xD
this is really cool.
would capturing everyone's faces when they are talking for real be possible?
My guess is that it would be possible. If I had access to this tech, I would probably have my actors say their lines while their faces are captured, but also have a mic off to the side which captures their lines. That way you have audio that perfectly syncs with the mocap.
The problem is that they will be always talking to the camera in front of them, not to the "virtual" person sitting beside them.
Would need a rig on their head to hold the phone, the same way like the actors in Avatar, for thanos or Alita
i can't wait for the remastered version when its High polygons but still just as janky
This is really cool and I had no idea that each of you weren't doing your own animations/capture sessions. Really neat production and can't wait to see more!
Super cool. Easily one of my favourite Corridor videos of the past few years just from how original and creative it was. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for this tech.
KSP music in the background at the start
I've long wanted to see a Corridor action piece starring Eric Jacobus... the bonus now is that he knows his way around xsens/unreal too. Would be cool to see what you guys could do together.
Been watching Corridor Crew for a few months now, saw your stuff back in the day years ago but never subscribed to anyone - anyways, just realized TODAY that corridor crew is the channel devoted to the crew and bts, while the uploaded finished videos are a separate CHANNEL!!! My brain just never split the two logos/names up when I'd randomly catch a finished vid! I feel the soft warm glow of enlightenment.
the "video game characters react" video is fantastic
the sense of humor in that video is everything I want from UA-cam, please do make more virtual productions
Title: WITHOUT Actors, Sets, or Cameras
Sam: Its not a production without a director, cameraman or actors
So cool, and the music's making me think I accidentally left KSP open in the background LOL.
Very often, I find myself waking up at 2am hearing KSP music in the background. Then I dream that I finally was able to get a perfect Mun transfer orbit.
I would love to see a making of of those crazy cut scenes you put in the video. Great work as always!
That was an excellent video, SO cool to see the process. That sure is a lot of work though. I love your in game rigs, they looks so much like you guys its cute!

As a programmer, and electronics repair tech, I despise apple because of their use of proprietary connections, software, and device support. Apple tech support charges hundreds to thousands for a repair I could do CORRECTLY, without scams, for 50 dollars and still make huge profit.
@@randominternetbro6562 that's pretty much the essence of apple, they charge you a lot for something you could get way cheaper
I'm learning unreal right now, and it is "unreal" how great the render quality is and how fast it is compare to other 3D programs
What’s the name of the app that Sam is using?
2007 Machinima: Am I a joke to you?
Extremly inspiring to see your workflow and the possibilities of creation with these tools. And to be able to follow you in what seems to be a new era of filmmaking - What a time to be alive!
I know I shouldn't worry about it, but is the sound out of sync?
If you were going to use the studio background like that, you might aswell just used a cubemap
Sam, you're such a smart, creative dude. I'm glad I found your channel all those years ago. Thanks for continuing to put out amazing content during this quarintine.
I would be totally down for more virtual productions videos produced, and behind the scenes to match. Awesome stuff!
6:10 yeah, the final product felt like you came up with it as you went along. I loved it!
We should get a video showing all the guys' home studios.
I wanna see Jake build more stuff / do whatever he wants to do besides just doing sponsor segments, and monologue about life for a bit. Always a treat. That being said I love these videos showing us how you do these techniques and it'd be super cool to keep seeing them.
It was such a refreshing video, with a creative visual concept. Felt like I was watching the classic Corridor Digital videos again. Please make more in this style :)
While I’m tired of the “react” series constantly reminding us how many people aren’t subscribed. I do very much appreciate how Jake does the ads. He tries to be funny and informative and the ticker up top is seriously great for if you just want to skip forward.

Wow man. This is really cool stuff. Can't wait to see more too. Sam how do you see this tech and Unreal 5 impacting the way you make content for Corridor and the industry wide?
I mean you can use the S10 5G for the face scanning since the tech is basically the same as the iPhone and also the latest pixel works really well with it too
It's almost like people think Android is a single fucking brand of phones.
The problem is software support. Yes you can have the same hardware, but since apple stuff is single ecosystem it's way easier to develop stuff that has specific hardware requirments, whereas android has huge variance of hardware.
@@qwertyuiop-rg4mj ikr hahaha. So many people say android phones are scammy, but that is because the phone they saw was some guy in a basement who stole phone parts and installed a sketchy android branch
@@ZalvaTionZ which is why apple sucks...
Making the 3D background was easy I just needed a modeled couch and A 3D MODEL OF THE ENTIRE STUDIO
Wouldn't be that hard. You could do it with an xbox connect sensor.
I pretty much knew each step you took! Kinda proud of myself, but still pretty impressed, Sam. V good work, it really tripped me out when I first saw it
This is insane! I loved the video and all the amazing effort that goes behind making it!
Keep it up!
They should've hired you guys to produce thad horrid blacklist finale
it corridor did it it would’ve looked live action
Yeah, that was god awful. Made it hard to watch constantly jumping between the live action footage and CGI footage. Here’s to hoping they actually go back and finish filming once production starts up again and then reinsert the missing footage for a bluray release or something.
1:23 naah the iphone isnt better for this kind of stuff, its just easier to develop for 5 relevant devices than for 100 ;) AR Core is better than AR Kit, but supporting it acorss alot of devices is a pain in the ass
edit: OK this facial thing is based on the animoji, not sure if AR-core has that too :D
Animoji is the worst lol. The internet is still filled with that trash.
People act like Android is one unified thing, but no, there are thousands of phones based on Android OS, the newest Samsung phones even have the face track tech that apple has, so as long as unreal releases the app for those phones then it will work fine
This is so cool guys ! excited what comes next on virtual production
This is really awesome. And getting this out of the way seems like it will make the next one a little easier
This is cursed, no offense tho. It feels like watching one of those weird 3D animation on youtube.
Lol that's exactly what it is tho
Do...do you not know what site you're on?
Yea. My thoughts were Source Filmmaker like.
That naked Mario is gonna give me nightmares! What the hell is that? 😂
It's Luigi and he's not naked

Mario? Mario? MARIO?! MMMAAARRRIIIOOO!?!?!?!?!?!?
Hey men I´ve benn following you from Argentina for the whole quarantine. Really want to know more about all this. Tried UE, now going for Blender. Trying to lean how to pull all this together and mix reality and animation. Thank you. Looking forward for more videos like this one.
I loved this video, hope you still do some more of these
sam: "you will need an iPhone for this, you can use it track as a Virtual camera. Also this 20000$ mocap suit."
me: "Vive trackers and base stations go brrrr"
VR setups and Kinect combined probably makes the most efficient mocap setup you can get, there are even VR animation programs like flip side that let you mocap and then animate without ever taking the headset off
I’m an animator, yet I always struggle with 3D animation software. Does anyone know a good place to just sit down and learn how to use the Unreal Engine?
(I would actually kill to go back to school in order to learn how to animate in 3D.)
Unreal currently doesn't have full support for animating in engine (it's making basic first steps in that direction). You need another 3d DCC software to do that in, and then import it into unreal. If you are talking about animating by hand.
Skillshare probably has something. Although idk if unreal is even good for anim. I would use blender if I were you. You can model, rig, and animate in blender, plus texture, and you can export everything in formats supported by every other software. I use blender to model things which I then import into Unity and use to make games.
It was a good first use of this type of thing. Parodying something you did was smart. I think there's a lot of potential for these videos during quarantine.
I would love to see parodies of the other stuff you do on corridor crew as well, like production behind the scenes, the nerf battles and challenges that already feel like IRL video games anyway, even wren making something crazy but taken to the extreme
Tried to watch this video yesterday, and it just told me it was private, glad I can finally watch it!

"Way better at this stuff" i.e. facial tracking. Probably bc Epic Games is using the depth/IR sensor of the Apple FaceID setup as well.
Also Epic Games hates Linux (Android uses the Linux kernel). I know Sam worded it a bit vague, but this is more bc of Epic Games being the retards that they are than Sam being an Apple fanboi.

It was magnificent. The shortcomings of the technology present in it this time really fit in with the aesthetic and so it worked so well.

But, that's not his point. The point here is that the sensors on the iPhone are much, MUCH better for doing some tracking and AR. People might laugh at animojis, but the tech behind those sensors is amazing and Apple makes it open.
