Russian, German, American surplus army gear, Japan saw,and Canada sleep sytem.........all getting along just fine! Pay attention world, Lars is showing you how it's done!
Love the quiet of a winter forest. I don't think many people really realize how still and silent it can be. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your area with us and your knowledge.
Honestly, the amount of knowledge I have acquired from watching your videos is so much. I’d like to say thank you. Так держать спасибо за видосы! твой канал рекомендую всем друзьям.
Been waiting for this video Lars....It is near 0c daytime and loads of heat in the sun and still at -16 to -20c at night here. Humidity today and yesterday was well over 80%, we are usually lots lower as well....at 14:45 that fire was awesome Lars....look forward to Part II, thanks Lars...Cheers Fred
Hallo Lars, toll was für eine Mühe du dir jedesmal machst um deinen Zuschauer alles zu zeigen. Appreciate it. Freue mich schon sehr auf den zweiten Teil! Gruß Torsten aus Deutschland
Very cool Lars! Excellent Siberian log fire! I need to try that fire method one day. On my way to watching Part 2 now, and can't wait to see how the -30C no shelter camp works!
Love it when you wrote that firewood that's around wrist-forearm thickness is "Fine tinder", hahah. Puts the rest of this gargantuan fire lay into perspective. Can't wait for part 2, sleeping close to that behemoth was surely warm!
One thing i have learned from my grandfather: If the sky is clear, the night will be very cold. So, no wonder, why its 30 centigrade below zero. And finally, the big logfire is burining! :D
Lars I love the fact that you regularly test out your kit in the real world! That’s what makes your channel one of the best! It got me inspired to get out in the snow with my midget and the pulk!
Hello Lars, we have more snow here now after the last storm than we have had all winter too. It's getting warm though so it won't last long. That does make a great fireplace!
I grew up in the North Norwegian countryside, in a mountain community. (In North Norway, there are 99% countryside) with the wilderness 200 meters from the front door. We where out hiking all the time, but our skills where not as awesome as yours. Your videos make me wanna go back to the wilderness. Thanks for reminding me.
I'm thrilled to see the big Siberian log fire in action! The Siberian log fire is my favotite nugget of knowledge I learned from yout channel.Thank you, Lars, and greetings from the Dutch-guy in Switzerland.
Awesome video as always Lars! Lovely seeing that behemoth getting uncovered. It'll be quite the fire. Hopefully you don't wake up in the middle of the night and realize you're half cooked!
That's how you do it! I completely agree about just using a ground pad if possible instead of stripping trees for fun. A few years back I bought my wife a really nice and thick Thermarest for camping......and I might just borrow it sometimes when I go out-of-vehicle camping ;) I'm really liking my Canadian bag system, but it's certainly something that you wouldn't want to carry on your back!
I know what I’m doing all day! Waiting and watching. Waiting and watching. Keep up the excellent work Lars! This type of video is exactly why I’m such a dedicated follower. Can’t wait for the “sub bell” to go off again!
I've watched a couple of your show, like them a lot. I took winter survival training in the US Army in Alaska in 1970, they showed us all the things we could do and then told us, we can't do that, the post commander doesn't want us going into the forest so it's just what you have right here and there was nothing right here. Had all been used by previous training companies. All I remember of it is that I spent a week in a sleeping bag. Something else may have happened, I don't know.
Enjoy your videos ,it's good to see more videos on the Canadian military surplus being used by someone like yourself and getting good reviews keep it up
Your frosty winter wonderland. Man, you sure have some good gear. That's Awesome! Take care out there Lars! and congratulations on how well the channel is doing!!
I've been waiting for this video ever since you made it, that seems so long ago. I really enjoy your channel because you just show us what you enjoy doing. I have to say I'd love to live where you are it looks stunning all year round. All the best to you and your family from the UK.
Back when I was in the Canadian army we also had this gold ticket you could call it Bivvy bag, the original Green one, That thing you could lay in the middle of a swamp and stay dry, Combined with the winter sleeping bags it was comfortable to -40 or a bit more, just the morning piss sucked climbing out of the bag :)
Great video, Lars! I now understand the concept of how to construct the Norwegian long fire a little better. It appears to be the ONLY fire for camping in such extremely cold weather. My hat is off to you!
Ok, I’ve been binge watching your videos, I have to ask; why are you camping without a tent? I understand winter camping, but why not make it pleasurable, bring a tent, even a small 1 room tent would be like a palace when your camping on survival skills. Right? God bless you and your family brother.
wow....soon you will have 250 000 subscribers...not bad for a Danish guy in Russia! :) Can tell you it's been cold here now in middle of Sweden , -12C and wind and i'm heading out for a little hike soon again, ("have to practice my new Siberian log fire skills"). For you this is almost summer temp i guess but it's near the coast , so it's pretty humid too.Can tell you i'm viewing your videos for the second time now and i don't get bored, always some new info to take in...keep it up and see you again soon :)
The monster has just started to breath wait till it really gets going the whole forest will be melted hahaha. Thanks for sharing Lars always excellent videos
Great fire! Thanks for putting this much up so we can see it sooner. It's interesting that your Silky Accel came with a straight blade. Mine came with a curved one. You could change the blade to a curved one. With the curved handle and the curved blade it is an extremly comfortable saw to use.
Awesome video Lars! I am curious, with snow that deep and a fire that large, I imagine it would get quite toasty with the heat reflecting off the snow yeah?
Russian, German, American surplus army gear, Japan saw,and Canada sleep sytem.........all getting along just fine!
Pay attention world, Lars is showing you how it's done!
You forgot the Canadian " sleeping system" peace keepers making you nut jobs behave like adults
I knew I was leaving someone out!! I bet camera tripod from China too!
CANADA TOO....?
Sorry, I missed that one! fixed it now!
Muskrat Agreed ------ I like the way you think, I'd rather share some Beers and tell tall tales. Around a came fire.
Love the quiet of a winter forest. I don't think many people really realize how still and silent it can be. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your area with us and your knowledge.
Greetings from the ISS. Nice fire you have going there, it looks warm and toasty.
This wins coolest comment I’ve ever seen.
Is this for real?
Honestly, the amount of knowledge I have acquired from watching your videos is so much. I’d like to say thank you. Так держать спасибо за видосы! твой канал рекомендую всем друзьям.

That`s not a camp fire. That`s a science experiment. lol.
Lars I love the fact that you regularly test out your kit in the real world! That’s what makes your channel one of the best! It got me inspired to get out in the snow with my midget and the pulk!

I'm surprised you didn't freeze, since you didn't build a cold trench! :-)
Awesome video, keep up the good work!
Awesome Lars!
Awesome
What a character!
I started to feel the heat from the fire coming through my tablet! You need some s’mores with that fire 🔥
Lars, Yep that is a might chilly. Best
Awesome video Lars! I am curious, with snow that deep and a fire that large, I imagine it would get quite toasty with the heat reflecting off the snow yeah?
I don't know if the snow actually reflects heat, but being down there is much better than on top of the snow :)
There is my shadow, it's awesome!!! LOL
