Is the M2 gear you 3d printed on the spindle has to have specific tooth ratio to the encoder?. Also if you have the installation pdf file, received the pdf file, but can’t open it. Thanks again!.
Nice kit. I bought the Clough42 kit, but it's way more work to assemble, so it's still sitting on a shelf. Changing gears is not fun. This should be standard on all these lathes.
I agree. The Clough42 kit may be much better designed but so far this little kit was a fast build and came pre programmed if you use the gearing that comes with it. There is a way to customize the ratios as well.
Love it, have a small Logan 400 lathe, will definitely try to install the Electronic Leadscrew myself, do you remember the sellers name from AliExpress?.
It’s pretty cool. This is the wording to search on aliexpres -disregard the guitar wording, something in translation I guess: “Lathe Electronic Leadscrew/Electronic Guitar”
Thanks. It’s a fun kit to tinker with. I’m currently arranging all of the hardware into an enclosure. Regarding the seller; a quick search for electronic lead screw on aliexpress will bring them up.
@@drez20001 I'm thinking someone is wanting to make sure they get the same one so as to get the same quality of instructions and support. Probably way easier than guessing and getting it wrong. I am curious my own self. I'm about 10 pages in searching and haven't seen one yet is the only reason I point that out. ;)
Thank you for your comments. I looked closely at the Clough42 option and was pricing it out but am not the best at the programming side of things. This kit comes kind of ready to go and pre programmed if you stick to the gears, or the gearing ratios, that come in the kit. I was pretty sure I could design the mounts. Currently working on the enclosure for the components.
Thanks!.

That's a nice review! Could you send or mention the link to the kit?

What made you go this route and kit than any other? You didn't mention it. Excellent video as always. Thank you.

@drez20001 Makes sense. Thanks, good luck, will be watching.
So how do you account for different pitch lead screws on different machines? Is it just simply tweaking code? What language/interface is it?
By the way, ordered the F Kit set, will see how it goes.
My Leadscrew is 8 tpi, do I need to change anything?.
Cool. I have been distracted with other projects and hope to get back to the set up soon.
Thanks!.
