Dear Chelsie 🤗, you are still growing. I think your analysis was only looked at the short term. I would say: just relax - all is well. When we analyse too much, we loose our good (creative) mood. Less expectations help a lot 😉 Much love 💕 Matthias 👋
I think what might be happening, to creators in general, is that although we are told to niche down, and stay consistent with that niche, we are also being told to BE AUTHENTIC. If we are to be AUTHENTIC, then niching down by definition, doesn’t work. As authentic human beings, we are multi-faceted. We have many interests, talents, hobbies, experiences. If we are to be authentic, we should be able to share whatever we want and have our channel be whatever we want it to be. “Niching down” takes away from the very nature of what it means to be human.
omg I LOVE this! Totally agree! It is such a balance to be authentic but also do what we are told will be best for our channels growth. Thank you for this insight!
I don't know about being authentic. There are A.I channels getting millions of views. There's no actual human being in the videos. Even the narration is A.I generated. And there was a study done reporting that around 70% or more of gen z and gen alpha don't care if videos are A.I generated. Authenticity is out the door. It's just about viewership.
@@jollyjames30 I respectfully disagree. I think that we have gotten so far away from reality, that people are craving it. Take a look at the home page and notice there are less edited videos with less formulaic thumbnails. Many of the UA-cam strategists are actually beginning to note the desire for more reality in videos, and Gen x, are the viewers with the life experience to offer that content. ✨✨😀
@@beautifullifesageg.3951 No doubt that the human experience is also welcomed. Seeing real people in the videos won't go out of style. The one issue is the lack of attention span among viewers. UA-cam is even rolling out a new skip forward feature so viewers can get to the better or more interesting parts of a video. This is causing some panic among creators since it could affect sponsored videos. I guess it comes down to building a dedicated and loyal audience that will stick with you and watch your videos. To build such an audience, you have to build that connection which takes time and takes a dedicated effort to churn out quality content frequently which is not easy to do, especially after a couple of years which is what's causing burnout among a lot of them. But many creators are preferring to make a quick buck and will throw out videos no matter if it connects with their dedicated audience or not. After all, UA-cam is a business for the majority of creators and they're in it to make money.
I originally came here strictly for the content. So I don’t think the “strictly content-no connection” videos hurt you for first clicks on your videos. But then I found you were a great speaker and presenter which then formed the connection for me. I don’t need to hear about your personal story to be informed and entertained, but knowing your personal story does lend credibility to your expertise. I just want you to realize that you have a way of speaking that draws people in regardless. Just keep making the videos and speaking to what you know and be genuine. You can be genuine without getting personal. Then be patient and don’t over analyze it. It will come to you.❤
thank you Chelsie for the really honest, informative video. I don't do Podcasts yet. I have a Christian channel (Jesus-Is-For-You) and I used to post both wide format, and when I started to post Shorts my channel really took off, but after a while the YT algorithm impacted on my wide format videos, and as a result the channel took a real dive. So I then split the sorts on another new created, connected channel & the shorts took off, but alas my wide play channel is dying. I've tried scheduling videos but alas nothing seems to work. I've tried changing music, scripts, thumbnails, tags etc....the secret I was told by Think Media & Tube-Buddy was to make engaging, informative videos people will want to watch, and I totally agree. I have checked with many friends & supporters & I am doing this...but alas things are still very quite. I haven't moved over into Podcasts, but that would possible be where to go...as that is where the audience is right? BTW this is an honest query & not a plug for my channels. But if you have some advice, apart from podcasts I would love to hear it. I do analysis my analytics always on a regular basis. Thank you in advance Chelsie.
great questions!! I wish i knew the answers!! All I can say is keep going! And you may benefit from joining my youtube community on whatsapp - it is a group of small youtubers helping eachother grow on youtube and give feedback to improve videos - its free and it would probably be of great help to you :) the link is in my description for u to join
😊Keep going!! I know my channel is different because it's math tutorials, but... I've noticed youtube pushing a video out, and then the next one not so much. I've also heard soooo many youtubers talk about the inconsistencies from month to month, so i guess we are all on this roller-coaster together! Love the video! It's a good reminder to keep going!
I have the same experience where some things I post get thousands of views and some get only a few hundred. I'm still trying to figure out why, but generally the videos that do well either have quite good production value and are unique in some way, OR they seem to address a genuine challenge that people have. By far the videos that have not done well are ones where I don’t really think about value for the viewer.
totally agree!!! Personally I am working on both those things right now. Always looking for (kind) critiques on vids so I can improve also so if you have any feedback it is welcomed :)
I subscribed from that big video because I felt the authenticity in your voice. I connected with you and I knew your advice would help me in my UA-cam journey.
Just my personal view but i think with your experience in running a marketing agency and being a law grad, there are a lot of people who would want to get an insider look into these subjects. With law, you could cover your experiences, courses, etc and with your marketing agency, you could show people how to build/run their own. You have a lot of knowledge that would be very useful to so many. Especially students and entrepreneurs.
thank you SO much for this! I didnt think there would be much overlap in these niches so i kinda shifted away from these topics but this is great advice and something to consider!
It's the subject matter that UA-cam is recommending to potentially interested viewers. If you start pivoting towards the business, finance, or productivity niche, your videos will be recommended to those specific audiences over time. Engagement and viewing time are factors too. UA-cam wants to keep viewers on the site. So your videos need to target a certain niche, keep viewers engaged, and youtube will push your videos more to the right audience.
I like your content, and whatever the subject, if I watch it's to ear how YOU see it, because I think your personal point of view might be interesting😊 And also, as a viewer, more than once a week, I don't always watch what people post, it's too often🤔
I don’t think the channel is suffering. Your viral video just probably died down which happens and then it goes back down to a baseline of average views
One other interesting thing is that many people who subscribe do it on a whim. I'm guilty of the same. The finance youtuber Nischa said that only around 25% of her subscribers watch her newer videos. The rest are non-subscribers and new viewers.
Suffering from the same problem, I even contacted the support chat in my despair 😅 At least we are all in this together! All the best with your further journey! 🥰
