    Always nice to have people put this sort of thing out there because you are going be critiqued no matter what. I use some variations of this one of the big differences being that instead of simply grasping their hands with mine I grasp the ring finger and middle sort of pinching them together. They can pull their hands off their head but they can’t pull their hands apart, at least not right away. It does take a bit more dexterity to do it but it gives you more opportunities to counter.

    One more thing about this worth mentioning is that it requires some degree of compliance. I usually only use this if I have not entirely decided about whether I am going to cuff. If I have already made the decision to cuff and they are compliant enough I like to have them face away, extend their arms back at waist level, palms out. I can then grasp their fingers and they are then in the perfect cuffing position. Always if possible the top of the wrists should be together. That allows you to put pressure on that wrist from behind if necessary.

    Thank you so much the jail I work at has no training besides actually being on the job I’m a month in and they haven’t even had a jail management class yet and I’m still not pepper sprayed certified or tasar certified so I have to take it upon myself to do the research on my “off time” my co-workers give me some advice but most of the time we are short staffed so they don’t really teach me anything or they try to teach me and then something pops up like most nights there’s only 4 ppl on shift 2 female and two male

    Kinda Weird Question, I'm 5"4 Armed Security Guard, I've had to detain people , etc etc, I've had to Handcuff or have a cover guy on hand for VERY Few Ocasions, because the subject was embarrassingsingly to tall, he was 6"10, they taught me in academy the very exact same way to unsecured pat someone as seen in the video,
    You've had more hands on experience than me, any tips for an Unsecured individual that I cant get cover for?
    I've held their hands together, behind them, waist level, I've also have my foot near theirs incase they take off, it hasnt always been successful, any advice?

    • @TierTalk
      @TierTalk  6 років тому

      If need be, you can have them spread their feet wider. That should lower the height of the individual.

      Don’t be afraid to go outside the box. Like Anthony said you can get them to widen their stance. You can also cuff from them being seated in a chair, sit them on a curb or if they are compliant enough go prone. So benches, chairs, curbs, retaining walls, make your environment work for you. I mentioned above having their hands at waist level and extending their arms back with palms out. That puts them low enough to work with and once you grab a couple fingers from both his hands simultaneously you can speed cuff from there PDQ.

    • @wendolyedwards3180
      @wendolyedwards3180 2 роки тому +1

      That’s why he added “head to the back” ….if your head is pressing to the subject’s back, not only is it giving you leverage but it removes the risk of you getting elbowed in the face.
