I was fortunate enough, by the grace of GOD, to see Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in concert. My now husband and I went while we were dating so many years ago. We went to the nearest Country Store that sold boots and cowboy hats. We bought one of each and happily went to the concert. To our dismay, we were the ONLY ones there wearing cowboy attire! The women had a single red rose in their hands dressed in evening gowns and the men had on suits and tuxes. This concert wasn’t cowboy themed at all! It was a nice sorta ballroom feel and scenery! Hahahaha. I’ll never forget how effortless Kenny and Dolly sung every song! How could anyone be that great at their craft? They were!! These two are ranked number one in my book! I love you Dolly! Love you Kenny!! The greats!

It seems like everytime Kenny out a new record out we had it. He was my first concert ever back in 1980, when I was 9 years old at the old Omni in Atlanta, GA. With regards to this video Dolly did, that night at the concert Kenny started in on Islands in the Stream and nobody had ANY idea Dolly was there, until when her part started and a spot light turned on to her as she walked from the tunnel concourse to the stage (with security obviously) and the whole Omni went NUTS!! When Dolly got up on stage with Kenny it was SO MAGICAL! You knew history was made that night. I also had the RARE privilege and honor of briefly meeting Kenny on the set of the bar scene in his movie "Six Pack" in 1982 at the old Hemingway's Bar and Grill in Decatur, GA. They had just finished shooting and all the security radios were barring, "OK GET READY HE'S COMING OUT, HE'S COMING OUT!!" So my nieve 11 year old self jumped in front of him and said, "HEY KENNY ROGERS", to which he shock my hand and said, "Hey son, how ya doin?". I couldn't believe I had just met and spoke to THE Kenny Rogers! His music will live on for generations and will touch them as much as it has touched mine and my parents generation. RIP Kenny Rogers, you were THE Gambler and always will be!

I was ten years old when I went to my first concert. That concert was Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. I remember when my parents told me they bought tickets for us; it was like Christmas day. Then at the concert, both Kenny and Dolly walked down an aisle to get to the stage. Where we were sitting happened to be the one Kenny walked down. My dad quickly got me to him so I could see Kenny as he passed. It was all so surreal and amazing. I remember Kenny looked at me, smiled, and gave me a little wink. I remember once he passed I just gave my dad a huge hug and went back to my seat. Was probably one of the, if not the, best concert I have been to. Rest in peace Mr. Kenny Rogers.

I also had the RARE privilege and honor of briefly meeting Kenny on the set of the bar scene in his movie "Six Pack" in 1982 at the old Hemingway's Bar and Grill in Decatur, GA.
They had just finished shooting and all the security radios were barring, "OK GET READY HE'S COMING OUT, HE'S COMING OUT!!" So my nieve 11 year old self jumped in front of him and said, "HEY KENNY ROGERS", to which he shock my hand and said, "Hey son, how ya doin?". I couldn't believe I had just met and spoke to THE Kenny Rogers!
His music will live on for generations and will touch them as much as it has touched mine and my parents generation.
RIP Kenny Rogers, you were THE Gambler and always will be!

I remember listening to him as a young child with my parents and older siblings. Then I had the privilege of taking my mother to see him in concert at our performing arts center in Melbourne, FL while I was in high school.

I loved Kenny Rogers’ music as a child, and as a young adult, a college friend shared a (perhaps) lesser known song with me, called There Lies the Difference, that became the wedding song for me and my wife. Just one among so many of Kenny’s beautiful songs that touched so many people. Thank you for memories.

Kenny has SO. MANY. FRIENDS. Who do you call first? Not to mention his family is all probably too emotional to make the same call that many times. Look at all angles before criticizing. We have to stay compassionate towards people.
I was ten years old when I went to my first concert. That concert was Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. I remember when my parents told me they bought tickets for us; it was like Christmas day. Then at the concert, both Kenny and Dolly walked down an aisle to get to the stage. Where we were sitting happened to be the one Kenny walked down. My dad quickly got me to him so I could see Kenny as he passed. It was all so surreal and amazing. I remember Kenny looked at me, smiled, and gave me a little wink. I remember once he passed I just gave my dad a huge hug and went back to my seat. Was probably one of the, if not the, best concert I have been to. Rest in peace Mr. Kenny Rogers.
