I have bought about twenty or so of these from BG over time and have had two faulty one's straight out of the box. One would not work at all, the other one works but hesitates during it's throw. Never bothered to claim on them, too much dicking around for so little money. Will still buy them in future.
Agreed. KMP / TGF / whatever HK calls them are quite good. They often seem to be less flexible and are wider, which for lowish pitch props is what you want. I've also got one of HK's "bone" props and they're similar. On close inspection it doesn't appear to be made of demineralised bone (just happens to be the same colour) but is more rigid.
I have used the white ones from HK which are pretty good plastic geared servos, but are seldom in stock. Nowadays, I use these from BangGood and they are great!
Thanks for this. I have a TP mg996 in a Crawler and it was perfect. So I picked up 2 new at a local rc show to complete a 40 size nitro Spacewalker and they were utter shite. They did not center and had a huge dead spot before it moved. Both on a receiver and a servo tester. I'm coming back to the show this year with a battery and tester and will call him out on what he is selling. He may not know but I will surely give him a polite heads up.
Hi Matt. I totally agree these mg90 servos are great value for money. BG has them at a good price around NZ$20.00 in my letter box. It costs me more than $20.00 to drive into town to buy servos of a lesser quality for five times the price!!!! Keep "ragging the nuts off"!!!!
I have bought 3 different lots of MG90S from different AliExpress and ebay sellers and all are different quality from bad to good. I have Tested over 50 servos in 3 years in many planes and had 1 fail. Variations include, 0.7 to 1.4kg torque at 10mm, sealed (green pot) or open trim pots (crap), aluminium or black hard metal gears(either ok), Plastic case mounting tabs at different heights, bronze bush or No bush at all ( but works fine), different circuit boards, good or poorly aligned gears catching (required adding mico washers under gears), all servos had acceptable centering (for planes) to my surprise. It's a lucky dip as even the same supplier can send different quality batches as they too are supplied whatever they get, and some servos did not exactly match the photos online.
Morning, yea it's been really hit and miss with the TP servos, eBay ones were junk, BG ones used to be very good, now they're junk too. Just ordered some more Racestars yesterday. Happy flying K! Mayy
Ditto. For important/expensive models I've yet to have a Corona fail. And for precision & centering the analogue CS939's absolutely destroy ( *authentic* ) Emax ES08MA II's.
Can you do a video showing them in operation, compared to a Corona or emax equivalent. With them side by side, maybe with a short length of rod fixed to the servo arms to highlight any difference in operational smoothness.
i had a few bad ones to.i opened the servo and look at the shaft off the second gear set.yours in the video is alot longer then i have in the bad ones.due tho that the gear is wobbling and the main output gear cant turn the potmeter and starts doing crasie stuff.changing that shaft is a problem to find its 2,2 mm diameter
I had to send back 8 or a dozen, last year. The majority of the lot would not center or return to any center what so ever. Having said that, I don't remember where they came from.... Im thinking it was not Banggood.
Morning, that sucks. I've heard others mention this and the latter comment on the source too. Not had an issue with any of mine for centering yet, we'll see though, odds are I'll get one eventually! Matt
These are nice when they work, but I bought 10. Good little servos, very loud, yet fast and torquey. BUT: 1 was dead out of the bag, and 2 have issues with deadband and centering (anyone has an idea to fix this?), so that's a 70% success rate... Buyers beware.
enough good people really rate these, yes i had some issues, but mine came from the bay of thieves, only got them from there as i needed them faster than the 3 week expected lead time from china in future i should order bulk like you do but i dont build a lot of models
I've bought a 6x pack of this Tower Pro on banggod. I'm quite a newbe at rc modells, and don't know a lot about. But as I opened one of the servos, I think, the first wheel that sits directly on the motor is made of plastic. Is it normal for a metal gear servo? hope for an answer, and wish good flights!!!))
I buy off eBay all the time those servers you have in front of you I've never had a problem and all I fly is wings I don't know what to tell you man I haven't had any bad experiences at all they held up well
Matt, what servos are going in the full size skyhunter? I assume it will get built sometime. Hope you do a build video, I've been having fits getting inav sorted out on that one.
Howdy Chris, I don't do typical "build videos", just overview ones. It's here on the side and I'll get it out and flown eventually. It will go to a new home almost straight away as it's construction makes it impractical for me to use long term, Matt
If I try to get into the facebook group, its says it isn't available for me, and I don't get it, because I never have been banned or anything? Do you know why this could be the case? And what happened with fluttergate? I really liked the first video and was curious of the results!
does eBAY also sell fake EMAX servos? the reason i ask is that i just bought a ton of them for 3.19 usd per unit and just want to make sure i wasn't taken to the cleaners
I've been using ones from eBay (the cheapest ones I could find, at that), and have not had a problem with them yet. But maybe I don't abuse them as much as other people might. Interestingly mine don't have "Tower Pro" on the label, they're just labeled mg90s.
I just got 6 of these MG90S from Banggood and had the worst experience. None of the servos worked! They actually only sent 5 MG90S and then a different servo which also was defective. I had previously bought 4 of MG90S servos from an ebay seller and they all worked. One of the servos was missing the output bushing. I test them with a servo tester with no load. All 5 from Banggood jitter and appear to have defective electronics. I used the same test setup for both sets of servos so am confident the problem is the servos. I complained to Banggood and they wanted pictures and video. I sent them both and have gotten no reply. Bad experience all around. I now do not trust Banggood and am unsure about "TowerPro". Times they are a changing.

Thanks dude those are absolutely seem to be better than the plastic ones.
Morning, absolutely. They might be fake, but hey they work really well! Matt

hi matt from quebec !! i only use tower pro mg90 , 9 gr and 13 gr servos on my 1800 skyhunter they are obsolutely great and best for the price
I have those in my lidl seem better than expected... but for a moulded high end glider im going high end servos - hi tec or hyperion digital
Afternoonies, oh totally. Cheap foamies, these are perfect. Expensive models, Corona for me :)
Ditto. For important/expensive models I've yet to have a Corona fail. And for precision & centering the analogue CS939's absolutely destroy ( *authentic* ) Emax ES08MA II's.
Yeah I like those servos as well, much better than any plastic gear servo I’ve used
agreed ...amazing value and never had a bad one ...unlike the blue ones from hk, got a load of them in the crap bin
Geez, man, I was hoping you would compare, show some difference in action… 🤷♂️
Been using these since they showed up on Banggood. Love them works great no bad ones yet.

Thanks Matt, I took your advice and bought some a while ago.
I had to send back 8 or a dozen, last year. The majority of the lot would not center or return to any center what so ever. Having said that, I don't remember where they came from.... Im thinking it was not Banggood.

Plus 1 for your opinions.
The MG91's are good too. Just a little more expensive from Banggood.
Afternoon, I've not tried those, taking a look. Matt
Oooothat they're very similar to the Corona. 939MG servos. Matt

Yes these are great for the money, have used about 20 of them

I use em and love em! Excellent value for money!
great servo's for a great price, i've used them in all my planes.
petedotnl I've read "buy expensive servos don't scrimp" but wth never had these b4
Glad for the + feedback!

I really like those props too "sport " type .
Does MG90s Servos need driver shield to connect it to Arduino?
What is the slop in the gears like for these? One thing in favour of the plastic geared servos is backlash is usually minimal.
Morning, minimal to the point I didn't even notice Matt
great tip bought six thx!

used other cheep ones from banggood, (plastic geared) which broke easily, got my first set of mg90's now, just need to build a plane around them :-)
Thanks for sharing. Would these be ok in an AR Wing?
Thanks! I had trouble finding the KG rating on these. Do you have any idea by chance?
this is what ive been trying to find out.
Hi, Following your link does not find them on Bangood? Any clues?
does eBAY also sell fake EMAX servos? the reason i ask is that i just bought a ton of them for 3.19 usd per unit and just want to make sure i wasn't taken to the cleaners
10k subs, also, could you do a comparison of the best servo's to buy with links?
Howdy James, yea try these ones. Anything else, buy corona! Matt
for a second there, I thought you were talking about the beer, thanks, will do
@@james2396 well i thought about the virus 😂

I only use brand servo's in my longrange... afraid to loose my plane

Only servos I paid for. BG
Matt I use these tower pros too, have been since your first video came out on them...
Bangood now shipping the crap version.
British acsen🤣🤣👌
Craig... Tsk tsk...
