I feel like even though rivals didn’t have a story it was because it didn’t need one. Hot pursuit didn’t have a story yes? And people love hot pursuit so what’s wrong with rivals?
It was my first and it was the first game I saw a hacker in and it was also my first hugely competitive game as a kid besides the original garden warfare (us youngins didn't play cod back then)
@@sizweneneFr, Rivals was buggy as hell, but when it worked it was a hell of an experience. It probably wouldn’t sell well, but I’d love to have another Rivals style game, one with better quality. Rivals is incredibly underrated, although somewhat understandable due to its buggy nature. But I think a lot of the hate also came from it being a more simple throwback style NFS, when nowadays everyone just wants Underground 4 🙄 I love the Underground formula as much as anyone else, I promise you, but if you can’t appreciate a throwback style NFS, you’re probably a child, or not a true NFS fan. One of the first games I ever owned was NFS:HP2. That was the original NFS formula.

Rivals is easily my most played need for speed. Its buggy, it's broken, it's unfinished, it's terrible, but it actually has competent cops which makes it massively repayable and a ton of fun. Its handling, while obviously simple and brake to drift, was actually the most predictable and controllable out of any other modern nfs for a long while (if you managed to mod 60fps on PC)
@@mohitparker8602 completely agree. Though I do prefer them without weapons so the cops in payback are easily my favorite with how smart the AI is, though they never get an opportunity to actually be threatening
The "mod" to unlock 60fps was a simple launch parameter you put into the desktop shortcut. No actual modding was needed to achieve optimal frame rate at the time.
@@PLAYER_42069 I know what it is, I've done it after all. Mod stands for modification so even something that simple is modifying the game. The issue is obviously that the majority of players are on console and aren't able to do this
@Jared Carson it absolutely does. It's an awful game, rushed out the door, completely unfinished, should never have been sold in the state it was in, and yet... It's still fun if you like what it does have. It's cringy, but that's all that matters.
Rivals is actually one of my favs, it's just so chaotic and it puts you on the edge of your seat all the time, and when you get to a safehouse you get a feeling of reward and satisfaction that you somehow escaped the brutal cops they had. Sure it didn't have a proper story but the game itself and the mechanics are super fun
I actually liked the story. it was chaotic seeing the good VS the Evil and the good eventually turning evil. it was also really good to see it being an opened ended story since the characters have nop face which gives them a really interesting personality
@@vanshsureka2425 Agreed. I enjoyed Rivals and liked the story because, imo, it's very "spy vs spy" themed. The result you get when 2 conflicting ideologies don't realize they're just simply 2 sides of the same coin with boths sides having the will to do whatever it takes to stand above the other; you get total chaos. I also enjoyed the fact that they got you to play both sides and see it from that sides' perspective. I see it "conceptionally" comparable to that argument of Marvel's Daredevil and Punisher as in who's really the villain here I know it's not that deep, that's just the way I see it

I think what I loved the most with Rivals’ story is that it implies that both sides are at war, compared to other NFS titles where the jobs of the cops is to just keep the roads and county safe from racers
For me the worst is payback. The whole speedcard system ruined it for me. The fact that you had to get lucky to get good upgrades is awful. That and the sheer amount of micro transactions. I honestly really love playing Rivals. Heat and Rivals for me are the best ghost games, followed by 2015 and in dead last, Payback. My absolute favourites out of all the NFS games I’ve played are Rivals, Heat and Hot Pursuit (2010)
Bro for me is Nfs undercover, it didn't aged well, the handling is horrible, the frame rate is shit, and it has more glitches tahn cyberpunk 💀💀💀, but at least has a decent story and car list

Rivals was just ahead of its time period. Technical issues aside, Rivals was always such a good ass fuckin NFS that was pretty much non-stop fun in my experience. It was the epitome of what a NFS game *should* be. Not this stupid fuckin woke rap, wacky visuals shit we have today with unbound. It's a joke and honestly Criterion just needs to go away. Heat is still a much better game than unbound. As a long-time NFS fan, it's disappointing to say that unbound will be the first new game in the series that I actually don't buy.

I played many of the NFS games and Rivals oddly was one of my favourites however, very very broken. I even took a mobile photo of when I managed to accumulate over 2 mil before the game froze. Realistically I feel more the downsides were the game was ahead of it's time leading to vehicles spawning late on console, glitches and bugs all the time. There isn't many games where you can play the police in a full on fun police hunt down.

Personally I reckon NFS Rivals is one of the best modern NFS games. The absolute chaos, the cops who were out for blood the second you touched the road and I very much admired the heat system (higher tier car means you start with a higher heat). The game had a very good car list which made up for the lack of customization options. Sometimes Heat actually feels like an extension of Rivals that way.

Honestly i really love Rivals even though its buggy as all hell. As a person who grew up with NFS 2 and Hot Pursuit, it felt like a natural evolution of HP with proper freeroam and everything. And yeah that was the first game i spent over 1400 hours on! As for Payback, i did like the Fast and Furious approach they took, although i straight up hate the upgrade system, specially after seeing how (almost) in-depth it is in NFS 2015
Imo cops should have been nerfed in rivals. Literally everyone was playing as a cops because they were pussies scared of being busted as a racer. There was always like one or 2 racers on the map and 10 cops. Hot pursuit balanced cops and racers better.

@@johnnystankiewicz295 Imo Racers ware unappealing from the very start: -Early game is worse and way more tedious. -Tech is way inferior compared to the cops. -Cops have way better cars all the way from beginning to end, with the final car being quite literally twice as better than the racer equivalent in every single aspect outside of durability. -You can quite literally play Cops as if you ware racer without suffering any penalties whatsoever, even though you definitely should've had. -The game dosen't reward Racers nearly enough for the 'risky' stuff they do, with the point system applying also to the cops as well only exept adding huge bonuses on bounties. -Hunting down heat 18 Racer is unironically more rewarding than going through all the trouble of reaching heat 18 (and surviving) as a Racer. -The “assignment system” for Racers dosen't nearly represent the “high risk high reward” gimmick Racers ware going for, at the end of the day you are still just grinding limit breaks without any way to work around it. I think the ending of the campaign represents perfectly the fundamentals with both factions: Zafir dies in car crash while trying to reach glory, Cop becomes power hungry and blood thirsty and gets away with just slap on the wrist for his reckless behaviour.
I like how the game is called No Limits, yet you have to use credit card for the crappy microtransactions. The most annoying thing is that, you have to get a certain amount of rep of level to progress and use real life money for the gas and etc
I still unironically enjoy Rivals to this day. Despite the hourly game-breaking crashes. Once I moved to next gen, with the Series S not having a disc drive, I basically lost most of my game catalog, because I didn't like doing the digital download route. But I couldn't play my backwards-compatible Call of Duty games, or the other NFS titles, unless I used my Xbox One or repurchased them. With the space and money I had, there needed to be sacrifices. I chose to rebuy Rivals and purchase Unbound. I swiped some free stuff I knew I'd keep playing from the Microsoft store, and waited for a couple CODs to go on sale. Here we are, with my hard-copy titles collecting dust under the table, and my Series S having the not-so-uncommon memory problems. Games ran good for a bit, and then started deteriorating like a supernatural force was destroying the game from the inside-out.
Rivals as a NFS game could be bad and possibly the worst one yes. But the game as a whole is chaotic and fun as hell. It brings you straight in, no story to tell, just action packed cops and robbers. The game makes you feel like you’re driving really fast with the motion blur and like this filter effect. I’d definitely play the game again
Had to say this, even whatever are said to NFS Rivals such as it's bad or bugged, This is the only NFS that got me playing more than an hour, even 5 straight! It's full of actions, scenery, variety (Not customization tho) and choices. Sometimes, the bugs made the the game are more fun to play with. And challenging. I just can't get myself used to newer NFS, it's just doesn't feel right... And the graphics..Man, as if you're playing inside a movie. I enjoy playing Rivals, that's what some newer NFS are lacking. The experience are wild!

Rivals is easily one of the best Need for Speed games, maybe only beaten by Hot Pursuit 2010. Rivals is definitely better than all the NFS games that came after it.

I genuinely loved Rivals. If they just patched the game with native 60fps support, fixed some of the bugs, and allowed you to pause in single player it would easily be the best modern nfs in my opinion. Its already my favorite, but that would make it so much better
If I could “Frankenstein” my perfect need for speed… I would take the mayhem cop chases and 10+ minute final races from rivals; billboard smashing from 2012; the events from payback; soundtrack from underground 2; the customization from unbound; and combining the maps from all of the ones mentioned…
I agreed the game had a shit tons Ads and Micro transactions also you cant play the game offline and that why I liked Real Racing 3 better despite it’s Micro transactions and waiting in this game.
I feel like Rivals felt more like an updated version of the 2010 hot pursuit and I enjoyed the game looking at it that way. It’s hard to milk out a story from such a game and oddly enough I think the approach taken in Rivals was better than the one from HP 2010.
Dissing Rivals? Come on now, it's like strapping into a virtual death race with cops hot on your tail - graphics so sharp they could cut glass and tunes that make you wanna rev your engine. It's practically a rite of passage for adrenaline junkies!

NFS Rivals had freeroam cops and still has a big playerbase. They need to add playable cop cars in NFS Unbound. Maybe like Payback where you can steal it but maybe this time you can customize it
NFS Rivals was the first modern NFS game I played and god i loved it so much. True to be daid, it was from like 2013-2014 and i was 10 at that time, but still today when i look at it or watch videos about it i'm still in love. First of all the graphics. God damn if the graphics were godly, being a game of 10 years ago, still defends himself pretty decently against other new games. Then the fact you could use boosters like EMP, or shockwave or those things that made the game funnier and crazier, things that some other games (like the original The Crew) tried to replicate but failed miserably. And then the fact that you could choose if being a cop or a driver, that thing still makes me love that game so much, no other games I played did that or at least did that in that way. Yes, it had many cons, like being too chaotic and being a cop was far easier, literally sometimes you could just roam or be parked somewhere as a driver and suddendly 10 cops were behind you, and plus the servers were pretty terrible, but already the fact that you could play that also offline made it better than many other games. Ohh and not to be forgotten, it's the 1st NFS game after many years that finally brought back Ferrari, something many games, even newers, struggle to do (original the crew didn't have them). NFS Rivals might have been hated by every lover of tradiction (like what happened to crash bandicoot), but it will always stay in my memories as one of the best games i've ever played.
I grew up with nfs rivals and my xbox 360 and it is such a blast, to say it was the worst i think is a bit of a stretch, only things really lacking is the customization and the story and the amount of bugs and glitches.
NFS MW2012 only gets so much hate because it is a NSF title. If it wasn't a NFS title, i bet you people wouldn't complain as much. Because it was a NFS title without any customization
NFS Rivals is probably the most fun racing game I've ever played, great car control, the drifting is crazy, amazing speed visualization, drift charging nitro, sick gadgets, total police-racer chaos, you can go on massive destruction sprees, it's so intense... getting to the closest gas station kilometers away with your low health and 3 cops trying to get you with EMPs. I'm probably gonna replay it again sometime.. again... love it... WAIT WHAT??? WORST NFS????? ARE YOU INSANE??!?

I've played every single NFS game except Unbound. Rivals was the *ONLY* one I couldn't finish and needed my friend's help to complete the final stages. Granted I also play it on Xbox Live Free (internet connected but no actual "online" so it's just AI) But that makes it worse because the AI is relentless and you just feel alone and helpless, even in the best cars. I'd enjoy Rivals way more if there was a No Cops / Races Only mode... like in Hot Pursuit 2. A game that came out over 20 years ago. (EA legit just remaster the old NFS games, we'd be happy with just that.)

Rivals was one of the best Need for Speed games, the story was ok but the driving was good, the cops were a challenge plus the open world cops and robbers it was something we wanted that we couldn’t get in Hot Pursuit 2010. Rivals is in the tier of 05 Most Wanted
NFS Rivals got worse the more you play it, it starts off ok, never gets better only worse. Shame because I like the ideas it had, and the look of the game. Also the PC port is horrible, so really the game is stuck at 30 fps.

NFS doesn't need a story imo, a plot would be good, but there's no need for a story, something like Underground is good imo, you want to be the best racer in the city, that's it.

Like the basic 5w1h for a story, theres none for the m3. It just there for the sake of "OOOHH THE M3 IS COMEBACCK" thats why we need an actual story. And we already have the plot just deliver it properly even someone can make it in yt video somehow connected to ryan cooper. Other than NO INGAME PAUSE, rivals was the MOST FUN. & Carbon was probably the hardest. I played em all. Burnout paradise was the most memorable. Actually taught me how to read the roads/map for the first time.❤
First modern need for speed ive ever played, i grew up with a ps2 most of my life, i still have it. The vibe rivals gave off was so good. The music and the easthetic scenery is still nostalgic.😢
NFS rivals was one of the first racing games I ever played when I first got a console for my 7th birthday. Not only did it first get me into racing games, it also taught me anxiety in having 25% of your health left while the closest gas station is 1.3km away. Good times.
I still think NFS 2012 is underrated. Graphics, car sounds, MUSIC is awesome. What I found in the recent NFS games are that they're so childish nowdays and "bright". NFS 2012 had the dark feeling too it which I liked.

Worst one by far has been Unbound. From the political agendas to terrible cop radio dialog. It has some of the worse customization options ever in NFS history. I'm trying to make my car look _clean_ , not like a transformer in mid transformation. I only played it once, and I honestly do not remember the story. That's how forgettable this game is.
I'm writing this as a long time NFS fan who's very aware of the cons of every single game except Unbound (didn't get a chance to play it yet and idk if I'm gonna if I can too) and I'm thinking we can start the "modern" era with NFSHP, I had so much fun playing Most Wanted, Rivals, 2015 and Payback, to me the worst modern NFS is hands down Hot Pursuit (Shift 2 is special for me so not counting it). And my favorites are The Run and 2015. Calling NFS Rivals "the worst" while No Limits exists (why is it even in the video?) is, I wanna say a disgrace but it'll sound too much so, a huge shame.
HP 2010/ Remastered is the worst. My first was Underground 1 and played them all except pre- HP 2, World, Nitro, and MW 2012. What makes it the worst is they mixed NFS with Burnout and the time trials and their penalties.....omg.

@@Raphael16045 I highly recommend you play it! Its sense of speed is better than UG2 imo. If you care about free roam however, there is not much except a free run mode where you can play any track without other players, or you can install a mod to allow you to play free roam.
Rivals is probably my favourite of all the Ghost games need for speed games because its easily the most defined and confident in what its trying to be. Its Edgy, its over the top, But it doesnt interrupt that edge for a quirky funny moment, it takes itself seriously and knows exactly what its trying to be. having first played it in 2019, i encountered very few if any bugs at all in how it plays, no pop in, no map breaks hell not even a single crash, The Soundtrack is great, the graphics have aged spectacularly, and the gameplay no matter how simple is slick and fun. Though take my opinion with a grain of salt, my childhood NFS was undercover lmao
I have a love & hate relationship with Rivals. I have this game on PC. I loved driving the cop cars and DLC cars, but then randomly out of nowhere, the game would stop loading the map and my car would freeze. I had to use SuperF4 to close the game. The game is also locked at 30 FPS, and the only way to make it 60 FPS is to enter a specific code to one of the game files.
I honestly love how chaotic NFS Rivals was - I might be bias as it was the first NFS game I’ve played but it’s still an amazingly chaotic game.

Rivals is incredibly underrated, although somewhat understandable due to its buggy nature. But I think a lot of the hate also came from it being a more simple throwback style NFS, when nowadays everyone just wants Underground 4 🙄 I love the Underground formula as much as anyone else, I promise you, but if you can’t appreciate a throwback style NFS, you’re probably a child, or not a true NFS fan. One of the first games I ever owned was NFS:HP2. That was the original NFS formula.

Rivals is easily my most played need for speed.
Its buggy, it's broken, it's unfinished, it's terrible, but it actually has competent cops which makes it massively repayable and a ton of fun.
Its handling, while obviously simple and brake to drift, was actually the most predictable and controllable out of any other modern nfs for a long while (if you managed to mod 60fps on PC)

The "mod" to unlock 60fps was a simple launch parameter you put into the desktop shortcut. No actual modding was needed to achieve optimal frame rate at the time.

@Jared Carson it absolutely does. It's an awful game, rushed out the door, completely unfinished, should never have been sold in the state it was in, and yet... It's still fun if you like what it does have. It's cringy, but that's all that matters.
Rivals is actually one of my favs, it's just so chaotic and it puts you on the edge of your seat all the time, and when you get to a safehouse you get a feeling of reward and satisfaction that you somehow escaped the brutal cops they had. Sure it didn't have a proper story but the game itself and the mechanics are super fun
I actually liked the story. it was chaotic seeing the good VS the Evil and the good eventually turning evil. it was also really good to see it being an opened ended story since the characters have nop face which gives them a really interesting personality

The result you get when 2 conflicting ideologies don't realize they're just simply 2 sides of the same coin with boths sides having the will to do whatever it takes to stand above the other; you get total chaos. I also enjoyed the fact that they got you to play both sides and see it from that sides' perspective. I see it "conceptionally" comparable to that argument of Marvel's Daredevil and Punisher as in who's really the villain here

I think what I loved the most with Rivals’ story is that it implies that both sides are at war, compared to other NFS titles where the jobs of the cops is to just keep the roads and county safe from racers
For me the worst is payback. The whole speedcard system ruined it for me. The fact that you had to get lucky to get good upgrades is awful. That and the sheer amount of micro transactions. I honestly really love playing Rivals. Heat and Rivals for me are the best ghost games, followed by 2015 and in dead last, Payback. My absolute favourites out of all the NFS games I’ve played are Rivals, Heat and Hot Pursuit (2010)

Rivals was just ahead of its time period. Technical issues aside, Rivals was always such a good ass fuckin NFS that was pretty much non-stop fun in my experience. It was the epitome of what a NFS game *should* be. Not this stupid fuckin woke rap, wacky visuals shit we have today with unbound. It's a joke and honestly Criterion just needs to go away. Heat is still a much better game than unbound. As a long-time NFS fan, it's disappointing to say that unbound will be the first new game in the series that I actually don't buy.

I played many of the NFS games and Rivals oddly was one of my favourites however, very very broken. I even took a mobile photo of when I managed to accumulate over 2 mil before the game froze. Realistically I feel more the downsides were the game was ahead of it's time leading to vehicles spawning late on console, glitches and bugs all the time. There isn't many games where you can play the police in a full on fun police hunt down.

Personally I reckon NFS Rivals is one of the best modern NFS games. The absolute chaos, the cops who were out for blood the second you touched the road and I very much admired the heat system (higher tier car means you start with a higher heat). The game had a very good car list which made up for the lack of customization options. Sometimes Heat actually feels like an extension of Rivals that way.

As for Payback, i did like the Fast and Furious approach they took, although i straight up hate the upgrade system, specially after seeing how (almost) in-depth it is in NFS 2015

-Early game is worse and way more tedious.
-Tech is way inferior compared to the cops.
-Cops have way better cars all the way from beginning to end, with the final car being quite literally twice as better than the racer equivalent in every single aspect outside of durability.
-You can quite literally play Cops as if you ware racer without suffering any penalties whatsoever, even though you definitely should've had.
-The game dosen't reward Racers nearly enough for the 'risky' stuff they do, with the point system applying also to the cops as well only exept adding huge bonuses on bounties.
-Hunting down heat 18 Racer is unironically more rewarding than going through all the trouble of reaching heat 18 (and surviving) as a Racer.
-The “assignment system” for Racers dosen't nearly represent the “high risk high reward” gimmick Racers ware going for, at the end of the day you are still just grinding limit breaks without any way to work around it.
I think the ending of the campaign represents perfectly the fundamentals with both factions: Zafir dies in car crash while trying to reach glory, Cop becomes power hungry and blood thirsty and gets away with just slap on the wrist for his reckless behaviour.

I still unironically enjoy Rivals to this day. Despite the hourly game-breaking crashes. Once I moved to next gen, with the Series S not having a disc drive, I basically lost most of my game catalog, because I didn't like doing the digital download route. But I couldn't play my backwards-compatible Call of Duty games, or the other NFS titles, unless I used my Xbox One or repurchased them. With the space and money I had, there needed to be sacrifices. I chose to rebuy Rivals and purchase Unbound. I swiped some free stuff I knew I'd keep playing from the Microsoft store, and waited for a couple CODs to go on sale. Here we are, with my hard-copy titles collecting dust under the table, and my Series S having the not-so-uncommon memory problems. Games ran good for a bit, and then started deteriorating like a supernatural force was destroying the game from the inside-out.

Rivals as a NFS game could be bad and possibly the worst one yes. But the game as a whole is chaotic and fun as hell. It brings you straight in, no story to tell, just action packed cops and robbers. The game makes you feel like you’re driving really fast with the motion blur and like this filter effect. I’d definitely play the game again

This is the only NFS that got me playing more than an hour, even 5 straight!
It's full of actions, scenery, variety (Not customization tho) and choices. Sometimes, the bugs made the the game are more fun to play with. And challenging.

NFS Rivals had freeroam cops and still has a big playerbase. They need to add playable cop cars in NFS Unbound. Maybe like Payback where you can steal it but maybe this time you can customize it

NFS Rivals was the first modern NFS game I played and god i loved it so much.
True to be daid, it was from like 2013-2014 and i was 10 at that time, but still today when i look at it or watch videos about it i'm still in love.
First of all the graphics. God damn if the graphics were godly, being a game of 10 years ago, still defends himself pretty decently against other new games.
Then the fact you could use boosters like EMP, or shockwave or those things that made the game funnier and crazier, things that some other games (like the original The Crew) tried to replicate but failed miserably.
And then the fact that you could choose if being a cop or a driver, that thing still makes me love that game so much, no other games I played did that or at least did that in that way.
Yes, it had many cons, like being too chaotic and being a cop was far easier, literally sometimes you could just roam or be parked somewhere as a driver and suddendly 10 cops were behind you, and plus the servers were pretty terrible, but already the fact that you could play that also offline made it better than many other games.
Ohh and not to be forgotten, it's the 1st NFS game after many years that finally brought back Ferrari, something many games, even newers, struggle to do (original the crew didn't have them).
NFS Rivals might have been hated by every lover of tradiction (like what happened to crash bandicoot), but it will always stay in my memories as one of the best games i've ever played.

NFS Rivals was EXTREMELY fun but the game got way too hard and the lack of difficulty selection made me quit the game.
I personally love the environment of rivals and just how it is raining so much and the chases felt so tense
I've played every single NFS game except Unbound.
Rivals was the *ONLY* one I couldn't finish and needed my friend's help to complete the final stages.
Granted I also play it on Xbox Live Free (internet connected but no actual "online" so it's just AI)
But that makes it worse because the AI is relentless and you just feel alone and helpless, even in the best cars.
I'd enjoy Rivals way more if there was a No Cops / Races Only mode... like in Hot Pursuit 2.

NFS Rivals got worse the more you play it, it starts off ok, never gets better only worse. Shame because I like the ideas it had, and the look of the game. Also the PC port is horrible, so really the game is stuck at 30 fps.
Unbound is really horrible with handling and ai as it sits right in number 1 until that is fixed

NFS rivals was one of the first racing games I ever played when I first got a console for my 7th birthday. Not only did it first get me into racing games, it also taught me anxiety in having 25% of your health left while the closest gas station is 1.3km away. Good times.

I still think NFS 2012 is underrated. Graphics, car sounds, MUSIC is awesome. What I found in the recent NFS games are that they're so childish nowdays and "bright". NFS 2012 had the dark feeling too it which I liked.

Worst one by far has been Unbound. From the political agendas to terrible cop radio dialog. It has some of the worse customization options ever in NFS history. I'm trying to make my car look _clean_ , not like a transformer in mid transformation. I only played it once, and I honestly do not remember the story. That's how forgettable this game is.

I'm writing this as a long time NFS fan who's very aware of the cons of every single game except Unbound (didn't get a chance to play it yet and idk if I'm gonna if I can too) and I'm thinking we can start the "modern" era with NFSHP, I had so much fun playing Most Wanted, Rivals, 2015 and Payback, to me the worst modern NFS is hands down Hot Pursuit (Shift 2 is special for me so not counting it). And my favorites are The Run and 2015.
Calling NFS Rivals "the worst" while No Limits exists (why is it even in the video?) is, I wanna say a disgrace but it'll sound too much so, a huge shame.
HP 2010/ Remastered is the worst. My first was Underground 1 and played them all except pre- HP 2, World, Nitro, and MW 2012. What makes it the worst is they mixed NFS with Burnout and the time trials and their penalties.....omg.
Rivals is the most chaotic NFS game. However its chaotic nature is why I keep coming back to it despite its bugs and unfair spike placements

If you care about free roam however, there is not much except a free run mode where you can play any track without other players, or you can install a mod to allow you to play free roam.

Rivals is probably my favourite of all the Ghost games need for speed games because its easily the most defined and confident in what its trying to be. Its Edgy, its over the top, But it doesnt interrupt that edge for a quirky funny moment, it takes itself seriously and knows exactly what its trying to be.
having first played it in 2019, i encountered very few if any bugs at all in how it plays, no pop in, no map breaks hell not even a single crash, The Soundtrack is great, the graphics have aged spectacularly, and the gameplay no matter how simple is slick and fun.

I have a love & hate relationship with Rivals. I have this game on PC. I loved driving the cop cars and DLC cars, but then randomly out of nowhere, the game would stop loading the map and my car would freeze. I had to use SuperF4 to close the game. The game is also locked at 30 FPS, and the only way to make it 60 FPS is to enter a specific code to one of the game files.
What the fuck payback was insanely good and rivals wasn’t the best but it was fun….wtf
