  • The overall aim of this webinar is to inform patients with CLL to be better able to live well with active monitoring also known as ‘watch and wait’.
The majority of people diagnosed with CLL will have to live with active monitoring before they are treated, one third of those diagnosed may never need to be treated. Living with the uncertainties, challenges and opportunities active monitoring presents for patients can be difficult to cope with. This webinar and panel of experts seeks to explore many of your questions, such as:
    - What is active monitoring?
    - Why are the majority of CLL patients not treated straight away?
    - Why not just “watch and wait”?
    - Why are my appointments so far apart?
    - What do I need to know to help manage living on active monitoring?
    - Are there things to be aware of and look out for between appointments?
    - What else can I do to support my health (e.g. vaccinations etc)?
    - Are there any techniques to cope with active monitoring?
    - What support is available to me?
    We will be joined by:
Prof Francesco Consultant Haematologist and Cancer Immunologist, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
Bryony Tyrell, Lymphoid Clinical Nurse Specialist, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
Audience: Those affected by a diagnosis of CLL, patients, family and friends.
