As a Catholic senior, I've found over the years that for me, to look upon the disfigured Holy Face of Jesus, meditating on His Passion, as well as praying the Chaplet of Our Lady of Sorrows, have proven to be the best ways to obtain a firm purpose of amendment.

This is not ok too confess these sins on the weekly basis, something may be lacking indeed. But I also think that the views in this sermon are extreme, even in traditional circles I usually heard less extreme views about firm purpose of amendment. This sermon doesn’t make sense to me, if your determination to keep diet is such that you avoid being in the same room with donuts no matter the cost or effort and it doesn’t affect your determination, than why think that if you would be in the same room as donuts you would eat them. This view assumes that after having firm purpose of amendment you would be super-spartan when it comes to avoiding what you think is “occasion to sin” (which is tempting situation), but if you actually are in the tempting situation you are likely to give in even if resisting could be much less tiring than acting super-spartan when it comes to avoiding getting into this kind of situation. The thing proposed in this video doesn’t seem like a good strategy to conquer sins and it is very extreme view about conditions of firm purpose of amendment and contrition to the point of being misleading.

Feel like never going to confession ever again after listening to this
This is actually pretty discouraging since I confess my sins of drunkenness and impurity on a weekly basis.
