Can u compare Sotto bat path he had great success against great pitchers this past post season but it’s different than this it’s more of a merry go round vs Ferris wheel .. thoughts ?
great video. also important to note that a line drive is like 10 to 20 degrees. in a cage zero degrees into the screen looks like a great liner but on the field zero degrees will hit the ball to the ground after like 50 feet or so due to gravity.
I love this Matt, but I was hoping for an analysis on how to get into the proper bat path. It's valuable to know how the bat path will effect the outcome of the hit (grounder, fly ball, pop up, etc.) but how does Bryant create that path? Is it his back hip and back shoulder staying connected to each other while he turns into the pitch? Is it his hands pushing outward and up to get the upper cut? Thanks in advance.
Great break down Coach! In this day and age of slow mo video, there no excuse to sticking to old teachings. Everything you taught in this was on point and easy to comprehend. One comment....should a hitters thought be more about what your hands are doing more so than the barrel? With the high vilosity swing, it seems difficult to control what the barrel is doing. But if you think about what your hands (or handle) is doing, add the speed, and the barrel should automatically get on path right? (i.e. mass follows force) Just my 2 cents. Thanks again for giving back to the youth to keep this great sport alive!
It's tough to say without seeing it. It's either swinging at bad pitches probably up in the zone or path. My guess is a little bit of both. You have to video tape to really see. A lot of guys think they have good bat paths until they slow the video down and really look at it.
Where is a good place to keep my arms and hands so when i do want to hit line drives or homeruns but at the same time i don't want to get underneath the ball.
great video and explanation
Another insane video. I come home and watch these videos every night. They are sooooooooooooo educational. Thank you!
Great video. I was able to show this to my 9 year old and he was able to understand this. Good visual illustrations that he could understand.
Matt what would a slight down angle line look like?
I love this! Thanks Matt!
Thanks!

Do you have any tips on how to improve arm strength (like workouts) thanks

I'll make some more videos on it. If you check out all of our hitting videos you will see some on creating the proper path. Thanks for watching!
can you either do a video on your hitting mechanics or mark mcgwire. Thank You.
Sure thing I'll do my best!!
what is a good drill to work on to accomplish this?
I'll try to throw one up for you. Thanks again for commenting and watching!
Hey coach are the shoulders swinging the bat or is it the front arm
I think its the whole body working together
I mean when the rotate the upper body thanks

Hey coach my team is always popping the ball up. All of our swings look like they're on plane we just can't figure out what the problem is.

Like Matt said it’s either your swinging down and nicking the ball (popping up) or swinging at high balls
Where do you find the clips like this to look at different players swings
Most of the videos I get are from TV
