- Ever wondered how to start a banknote collection? You can get some ideas on banknote collection themes here! Sometimes currency can tell you stories through their design, colors, artistic representations and of time periods in which they were created. Banknotes become more than just currency and become a collection when they are assembled in a way that reflects centuries of history. We created this video to hopefully inspire new ideas and to admire what other banknote collectors have created.

some collect just because they go on holiday, others collect because they want to invest money, and most of us collect because paper money are really a piece of art, specially the old banknotes. It's all about History, Art and pleasure!

I've been a coin collector for years and always kept currency from other countries I came across. I'm fortunate I work at an airport and friends who fly home to other countries always bring back thier country's currency for me. So I suppose I have a collection. But at the moment I have no direction and this video helped out alot. New subscriber.

Awesome video, really helps out new collectors. I first started with banknotes like over a year ago, but kinda focused on coins more, but would like to return. I have about 30 banknotes. Im currently focused on european socialist theme 1945-1991 and yugoslav war era. I have occupation money from war period, hungarian, yugoslav from cold war etc. I collect because old and new banknotes are art, amazing designs and feels great holding and having that kind of historic item.

I know uncirculated currency from Banknote means it was never in public hands but does that means it can be use for goods & services if purchase from World Banknote.

You are correct, UNC is just the condition of the paper. However if the banknote is legally in circulation in the issuing country then yes it can be used to purchase goods or services. If its demonetized then it cannot be used regardless on whether its UNC or Used.

Banknote World, I think he is talking about general eBay and not specifically your store. On eBay you can find almost any note at a cheaper price than a dedicated website. I understand that you need money for publicity, staff, etc and hence the price of stuff increases. For example, a Zimbabwe Trillion Dollars AA series in your store is worth 250 USD while on eBay you can get it for 100 USD. And that's just the "buy it now" price. If you extensively participate in auctions, you can get the banknote for around 80 USD.
I can understand if you will want to delete this comment (although I really hope that you let it stay).

My next target is yen I tackled most of European money ( euro, lira ( Italy 1982 - 1990 ) Russian ruble, Franc and more ) now Im hunting my neighbour countries money ( yen and some bank notes ) I have won and Singapore dollar Malaysian bank notes.

Is there anybody here that goes to money changer whenever they went abroad, just for having banknotes collection from the countty and their surrounding countries ?
We go to the central bank of the country we visit! don't know if that counts as a "money changer" :)
