the GLS 450. Mercedes-Benz saw an already overcrowded segment in the American market and said "me to". Where the hell anybody would want to drive a truck like this is completely beyond me. Why anybody would want to drive a truck like this with the petrol engine is even more amazing. If you want to drive an S class Mercedes-Benz, just by an S class.
Can I add James, why if you’re stating this is an “S-Class” like vehicle or MB are...; why aren’t the rear seats focused for passengers? They seem flat-like and not fitting as an S-Class should be even in SWB form! This Benz does look great in the video and love it 😊
POV review please, just the interior - seating and features. How far does the sunroof open? And, I am looking forward to the fuel consumption figures..!
GLE is much better size - but if you do need the 7-seats, the '+2' option in the GLE is pretty tight. This thing fits seven people and stuff - its huge! - J
Hi there, my brother has a new GLE53 it's too firm for me. I am looking at ordering a new GLS450, but want to know whether the active body control will make a notable difference on poor quality roads, in particular potholes and sharper bumps? It's my biggest concern, as my previous GL500 was much firmer than I would have liked.
if you didn't buy it... I'd say drive it... If you have to pony up for this and you're not an exec at Amazon or a Hedge Fund king.... leave it alone.. You'll go bankrupt.
@@Drivecomau Then what? We don't buy car because are longer or bigger! We buy car for what we need to and their purpose, Mercedes has not very much space here in Australia, because it is not a multi-purpose vehicle such a Toyota Prado or 200. You can just go to office with this car... You cannot go off road or hauling heavy stuff, spare parts are expensive, you cannot modify the car as you need etc.
@@KoDeMondo people don’t buy these cars for off road as you probably know already. There may be a small percentage of people who will but those that want to go off roading and have a more refined driving experience can now go for the new defender although it has less space (still has a 7 seat option)
@@eshanmirash2456 the new Defender it will cost you a fortune...in comparison the land cruiser is still cheaper reliable and you can find any spare parts you need here in Australia... Even if you get stuck in the bush!!
Hi Eshan - it's all the same team! We run both sites now, and are building a new one - which will have all the CA content and team and functionality, just on a brand new platform using the Drive brand. So the whole team stays (actually will be growing) and we'll be able to focus on one site - so will do even more great stuff! So hang in there - plenty of good things coming! James
About time you got another video uploaded. Yourself, Trent and Susannah should only be the presenters. Everyone else should not be featured. They are boring!
Service costs and Customer Support, let's dance with the devil on these questions. Does a premium priced car equate to premium customer (after purchase) service care or are you provided the quality service of a "Telco" call center devil?
Sorry but people who buy these cars don’t necessarily have a fear of servicing. I bought a new MB 11 months ago, offer on a service pack was presented. Even if they didn’t have a special “offer” I would have taken the service park as part of my purchase.
@@AccFinEco it would totally depend on the dealer you take it to, their staff, and how you relate to people in general. There is no way you could make a sweeping generalisation for all of Mercedes Benz overall.
Yeah that thumbnail got me😂

Do check it's off-roading capabilities.
Great idea!

Interested as to what the towing abilities are and how it handles it.
Lugging itself around trouble free for a year would be a big enough ask......
Three adults across second row or two with car seat?
Access to third row from second?
Towing capability?
Any guidance about running cost please…
Gls is a great car but doesn’t make much sense compared to the gle. Same interior space and design (probably less space in 3rd row) and looks better

Please advice on towing abilities

What about the 400d gls
Auto journalist without fancy watch flashing around? How refreshing! 👍😊
Lot of questions about towing for a vehicle that should be commended if it doesn’t fall apart after 9 months under its own weight.
How much to fill up the tank.. in Australian $ and USD$.. what is the road tax also... Thanks in advance.
Hello Guys, can you please run through some pricing and also towing capabilities if possible 👍
Will be good to do a 25km radius drive review. :) :) :)
Should I go for GLS450 or GLS580?

Scotty Kilmer is an authority of absolutely nothing, apart from being a deranged lunatic that spouts garbage.
How would you compare the 2020 Audi sq7?

How reliable is the Mercedes gls?
I think toyota land cruiser & lexus is larger and higher than this merc you you're onto sizes.
Nope. LC200 is 4990mm long, LC76 is 4910mm long, Patrol V8 is 5175mm and GLS is 5219mm long. It's enormous!

Lies James! Lies! You need the Maybach version.
It was quite sad to hear about Caradvice’s demise to Drive. Will you be staying with Drive or moving elsewhere James?

To refine my questions is about customer service quality; are customers treated like Royalty or like a McDonald's drive through?
