    😮7:42PM 4/20 I love your videos. I am not a lumberman but I am a woodturner. Love it when you show the grain. Some is just gorgeous. One video I would like, probably wouldn’t interest others, would like to see you c hanging the blade of the LT40. That’s one fantastic machine. Keep up the good work and videos coming.

    My local sawmill had a belt drive off of a MInneapolis Moline tractor both were antique's! But a sound when that saw started through the white oak and the old tractor would grunt. Great memories! Sawmill owner was "Buster Sweat"

    It seems like it would be easier to throw the edges on dunnage and load the 2x4 on the forks and take them to the cutting table. Don't put any more stess on your back then necessary. Seventy five years gets here faster then you think. Have fun and stay safe!

    I really like this video. I used it in class today to teach a bunch of production tech students about key performance indicators. We talked about efficiency and ways to improve performance and ways to reduce cycle time. The students caught your discussion about buying an lt 70 mill. Once I explained to them what that was, they really started to get into the topic. Thanks for a great video. My students learned a lot from watching it.

    I'll admit when I came across one of your videos a couple weeks ago I immediately thought "just another channel where the dude is pimping out his hot gf/wife" and even left a cheeky comment on one of them. Since then I've watched a couple more and realize you guys are simply a hard-working couple trying to make a decent living and showing us how. I would like to apologize for my initial (and incorrect) assumption of this channel and wish the both of you the best of luck and hope your business is able to afford the life you guys want. Don't know where in MS you are located (I'm in NC), but if I ever travel to that area I will try to get in touch so I can buy you guys dinner...it probably won't be during the summer because it's too dang hot and humid...lol. Take care and be safe.
    In regards to gloves, wearing them probably saved me from a major injury to my hand...kept a rod of rebar from impaling the palm of my left hand and instead tore a quarter-sized flap of skin open (I could see my tendons and bones)...27 stitches and 3 weeks in a cast and it was as good as new. So I would say, yeah, gloves are important.

  • @afos3462
    @afos3462 6 місяців тому +5

    Gloves give you a sense of protection when using power tools. This make you sloppy with your hand positioning and distance from the blade, you do not get a second chance with fingers against blades. Gloves also can snag and pull you into spinning blades or chippers as Can loose clothing. So think what’s best for you, pulling an odd splinter or having an arm chopped through, you choose.

    I’m old enough to remember when there was no daylight saving time so it doesn’t matter to me I get us to it in a few weeks, I believe it’s called standard time, some states don’t do daylight savings time still if I’m correct the politics started it because they got more daylight after work 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • @andhisband

    You're gonna groan when you read this because it's something you already know: "regular" time is *standard time* (as opposed to daylight saving).

    Tyler, You and Britney do a heck of a job. I am wondering do you have ways to sell your by products of saw dust, scrap slabs, scrap 2xd4's or 2x6's. Maybe you could answer these questions for me since I am new to your channel.

    • @wallacefarmandsawmill
      @wallacefarmandsawmill  8 місяців тому

      We compost sawdust. Our slabs are currently not sold, just waste. We move retail 2x4-2x6 and so on fairly often!

  • @TheMakersMarkTSF

    I don't care if it is EDT or if it is EST; pick one and stay with it! This changing the clock every 6 months is ridiculous.
    I know that if I would wear gloves I might not have as many cuts or scrapes but I just cannot make myself do it.
    One question Tyler; does the radiator screen get stopped up when you are dumping all of that sawdust? It looks like it was sucking it right in.

  • @larrystoodley7193
    @larrystoodley7193 8 місяців тому

    What do you do with your sawdust? I have watched 6 or so vids on UA-cam on how to make compressed sawdust bricks for a fireplace or stove waste, not want not. You're a smart guy I think you could make a system to make them in bulk.
