Just over a month until my retirement, looking forward to it... I plan to take some long weekend breaks around the UK, probably one a month. As you know, I am coming to Blackpool at the end of September, staying at the Carlton...

I remember the bridge coming over from the palace nightclub and the old bandstand. It was definitely a big improvement when they redeveloped it all though.
I loved that bridge, we used to skateboard 🛹 down the prom end ramp on the way to pleasure beach ⛱️

Makes me want to revisit Blackpool ,live in Ireland Belfast and the British were always very welcoming to us Irish first went in 79 good memories
I remember the old seafront,not so wide as it is now. There were steps placed every so often along the prom .There used to part of the beach near Central that the tide very often didn't reach, except at high tides. Pretty sure farther down the south and North away from the busy parts the steps were wooden.
I remember them steep horrible steps, 😢
