You can also change the "P" setting on the smoker to get more smoke flavor. The higher the setting, the more smoke. The default setting is P4, and ranges from P1 to P7.

      From Pit Boss web site:
“P settings” are designed to be used in the “SMOKE” mode because the “SMOKE” mode is the only setting on your Pit Boss that is completely controlled by timing. They can affect some of the lower temperature settings between 200-250, but again are designed for “SMOKE”.

Can you not adjust the P Setting to increase the smoke it puts out?

So where did you put it in the bottom? Left, right, middle? Where did you get the basket? How many pellets did you microwave? Why didn’t you video that step? Too many questions. 😕

Glad you enjoyed it mate. I'm looking at one of these at my local home depot. Just hard decision whether to go charcoal fueled or pellets. Pellets seem easier

Pellets are easier. I use Lumberjack Char Hickory pellets. They are charcoal hickory, gives you a bit of that flavor, has way less dust that eventually can cause auger jams, so its a win win.

I can never keep my pellets smoking once there is a heat source. Will they work with a heat source if I microwave them?

I found when using my smoke tube, i set it upright, light it with a torch and keep it on for a couple mins getting a good flame and leave it upright for 10 mins. It will go to a smolder, but leave it alone. after 10 mins i lay it down gently and it burns the entire tube .

Nice idea. But the reason foods dont get real smoky when your cookin at higher temps is because its a hotter burn the fans blowing harder and its a cleaner burn and produces less smoke. Try adjusting you P setting you can increase the smoke that way. Enjoy!!

James Jackson it’ll clog your auger if you do that. Known by experience 😂

🤣😂🤣 absolutely 110% not necessary to put those in the microwave that's the craziest thing I've ever heard never had a problem with my pellet staying lit in a smoke generator like you're using.
