The moment he says, "It's impossible," it reminds me of Danaher. Ryan is an alter ego of Danaher.
I regard this relationship of the teacher-student as beautiful.
The teacher exerted a great influence on his teacher, and the student proved that the teacher's system is correct.
on his student*
Chill bruv
Same thoughts 👍

“He can stand up squared without giving up his back”
Bernardo turns and gives up his back 😅
Ryan is mainly seen as a competitor but he is one of the best teachers around. When he retires he'll be the most in-demand instructor, probably even outdoing his own teacher Mr Danaher.
If you imagine this all being said in a devious New Zealand accent this is basically a Danaher instructional. He's got all the same cadence and mannerisms in how he explains technique
Yis
Yes but the Danaher instructional is 3 times as long and includes a long lecture on the importance of wedges, taught by the Socratic method.

.
That’s why it’s important to be around a master. Eventually, you take on their qualities. All the best to Ryan’s future.
All Renzo Gracie Academy affiliates are required to use the term "buttock".
Not always true. Every once in a while Danaher mixes in an "ASS." It really wakes you up, like biting directly into a pepper while eating a well seasoned meal.
also the term "wedge"... a staple of professor Danaher's vocabulary.
@@tbonejackson8181 Tru dat!
Buttox plural.
More videos of Gwordon's Gward please.
Joe Hogan!
When I first saw Gordon, I immediately though he would be pompous, arrogant. Extremely refreshing that he isn't like that. I know BJJ is predicated on the sharing of knowledge, but I feel like there's something special about almost inarguably the best grappler on the planet, seemingly divulging his greatest informations to us. Thank you, Gordon.
this has always been a go to move for me so im sure the extra details will help , thanks
Man, Gordon, really loves doing this. Pure joy jumping off the screen.
Outstanding instructors and outstanding techniques! Very nice of Ryan to share his wisdom. I’m an older guy but still gain from the details.
This is a lovely little sequence.
Thanks a lot for the instructional video. Your explanations are amazing👍👍
Thanks for the GREAT INFO Bernardo and Gordan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome instructional again. Thank you!
Yeah yeah many people teach everything he had uploaded so far, what a surprise in a sport where millions train in.
Thanks for the video guys, keep up making them, they are so good!
Always has the answers.. . . .dudes a beast.
Great detailed explanation
love these videos thank you
Solid. Going to be using all of this.
And this is why gordon ryan is the best
huge honor to watch that video
At 04:53 when Gordon talks about the two common ways that your opponent gets up, it looks just like the way Nicky Ryan teaches it in his wrestle up instructional
thank you for the video
Awesome as usual
Thank you guys
Thank you
Masterful !!!
The best athletes in the world are able to hit the most basic moves on the best guys. It’s all in the details.
Brilliant!!!!
6 people disliked the initial stickiness....
Good stuff.
Love it :)
am I the only one getting Ben Shapiro vibes from Gordan Ryan?
Lmaooooooo
Whoaaaaaa.......
Uh completely different ppl
😂
You’re spot on dude
the champ is really good at explaining steps
This is epic
When I hit this it's normaly transitioning from Dela Riva. They are always expecting something more advanced and you hit them with some fundamentals.
I always used it when they stand up in guard. I always tried to make them fall to their side. That way you pass the legs on the reversal.
Same.
Really anytime they attempt to get their posture back I go for it.
So many times it gets them to come back inside and I swing back for DLR, Lasso, etc.
If they don't and just back off, I stand up and go right in for a shot because wrestler lol.
This guy is a bjj genius.
Nice. My coach was just teaching this the other morning.
Here I am again. A year later. Need to remember that lift the leg detail. I think I do anyway, but just don't think about it.
Lpve it!! oss!
first
good details
"now! Let's say you've had a late night in the champagne room and your a day late and a dollar short"
I always use this from Dela Riva position. They usually wont see it coming.
Ok guuuuuuyysss 😂 oss!
The 14 dislikes are from atos lol
Are straight ankles locks not a viable submission against top level guys or any higher belts bc it seems like it’s all heel hooks?
In the thumbnail, does anyone how did he do the kind of black painting at the place he writes the text? Thanks
Robert Biernacki teaches it the exact same way :p
Why did I just notice Bernardo’s logo kinda looks like him. 🤔😂
🤯
It’s all I can see now 😂😂👌👌👌🤟
When does supine open guard come out? And when are his closed guard and back attacks goin on sale? ??
Open guard attack video is already in the market, isn't it?
@@MrSinusu seated open is out. Supine is the one in this video
September for part 2 open guard and sale is now 😃
I would love to roll with Sunny!
"it's not an easy thing to do." One could say it is... considerably difficult.
All this seems to work in slow motion, but in real time assaults are usually much much faster. Pulling all this off at rapid motion seems a bit hard to conceive
I love this sweep. I always felt it was useful for actual self defense
I think you're actually very expose to ground and pound, dont you? Bottom guy's hip leg (Gordon's left leg) is the only line of defense. If your opponent leg drags it out you're fucked. I think that's why we dont see these open guard techniques in MMA. When someone falls in MMA and he's playing open guard both hands are always in front of his face just to defend and grab once his opponent inniciates the attack. I dont know any example of this working in an MMA fight but to be fair self defense in a street fight you should be dealing with someone not as versed as an MMA fighter or bjj player so yeah I guess of course this could work
V V look up the tripod sweep in mma There’s a highlight of it used in an MMA context
@@antufcti Got it, thanks!! I had never seen it before in MMA
V V I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it a couple times just can’t remember. I always saw this move as an option if say I was knocked down and the opponent was still standing trying to strike me. Of course I wouldn’t stick around too long with open guard but I think it’d work as a surprise. Most likely if I was in this situation I’d look to technical stand up but if they crowded you or just didn’t know what to do in that situation (untrained individual) I think this would at least buy me some time. You’re right tho a leg drag might counter this, gotta keep that in mind
V V Also I usually try to get ahold of at least one arm just to make the sweep easier
I’ve been hitting this one for 20 years. Good details but he skipped one if the most crucial elements; using your free hand to catch the opponents wrist at the same side of the anchored leg to prevent him from stripping you foot that is planted at the hip. Maybe it is shown in the video series.
thats very hard to do without the gi on a good opponent
How good is this against bigger guys
Is Gwardan Ryan related to Gordon somehow? That would be cool
Saying buttocks is so Danaher
Buttocks. Shoelaces. It's not an easy thing. Who is this man's teacher? 🤔 (SPOILER ALERT: It's John Danaher.)
what happened to all his steroid gains

@@gordonryan3494 yeah but your muscles look soft, they should look like granite like ultimate warrior if you are juicing, what happened did you stop lifting cause of covid?

I used this sweep on a cop trying to put his knee on my neck.
This is female style. Men we stand up and fight, what wrong with yours
