Agreed. I want to hear Daryl’s magnificent voice, not the audience. Have some respect for this fantastic musician!! No one will ever have a voice like Daryl❤❤
I have wanted to meet Daryl Hall all my life. I first heard him sing when I was 17. Please come to The Biloxi Coliseum so I can meet you. You are beautiful and awesome!!! Hugs Daryl Hall.
I am 53 years old, I first heard and saw this man and his amazing music when I was 10 years old! What an absolute legend and musical genius!!! Loved it!❤️ Cheers
Awesome musicianship with great feeling and space. Us born and growing up in the 50's and 60's know what real soul music is and we are lucky enough to have two Ray Charles in our time.
So I know that everybody loves to sing along with their favorite songs at a concert, and I am probably just as guilty as the next person... but when Daryl Hall is putting his incredible, one of a kind, genius jazzy spin on one of his classics, everybody needs to seriously shut the hell up and just listen! I mean, the man is incredible, and no one - I mean, No. One. - does it like Daryl Hall!!! Wish I could edit out the audience "noise" on this performance! 😢
He is relying on them to finish verses, hit the higher notes. The older performers all add audience participation to their set to cover for their loss of vocal range and stamina. 15 years ago Daryl did not need any of it but sadly at 77 he does nowadays.
I don't listen know a lot of Daryl Hall's songs and I certainly don't listen to him enough to know how well he is still able to perform live. However, Sara Smile is one song of his that I've heard throughout my life and I think I know the sound of it very well. Daryl is now singing it live very differently than he did with H&O or even in Live From Daryl's House ten years ago. He can't do things with his voice that he did in the past, but his older voice and abilities have different virtues and he shows in this recording how he has learned to bring them forward. What an endlessly creative artist he is. He doesn't have all the tonal and vocal acrobatic options that he had as a younger person, but he emphasizes the best aspects of what he has to offer and that is its own kind of creativity. Such a clever music man and performer.
My second concert was Big Bang Boom tour after The Jackson's Victory tour, their final tour with all of the brothers. Both shows were spectacular, what a great time for music. Daryl is still amazing! ❤
Its amazing all the digital recording technology that is available to most everyone today. And yet, they still havent perfected the technology to filter out people singing off key and out of range in the background.
Well we all have aged a lot. Don't know what wonderful discoveries you've made recently but I think we've all been dragged thru hell and back & dealt with our own series of medical issues. If you say you haven't I'd call you a liar but anyways.....mirrors always tell the truth, first chance maybe you should take a gander in the morrow yourself.
He’s 77 years old!!! He looks phenomenal for his age! Sounds it too! I’d still “take him” if you know what I mean and I’m only 52. He’s still a gorgeous man.
Can't quite pull of what he did when younger because what he did then required peak physicality, but his body of work leaves him with nothing to prove.
@@timharris8109 sorry but he was diagnosed with Lymes disease decades ago. His voice was great until about 3 years ago. The Lyme’s disease didn’t just suddenly kick in! He’s old, his once great voice is shot. Call it a day
It amazes me the people who come to the comments to bring negativity. As every singer ages, their vocal cords become more fragile. Daryl's nothing to prove. He's an icon as far as I'm concerned.@@timharris8109
It's a great song but how come you guys don't write hits anymore you and Oates get together and write some more of that stuff cuz you guys where banging them out
That's so funny how much Daryl has grown musically. When I was very young I was about 18 years old. I saw hin at one of the first gigs at My Father's place. That was the name of the gig he was at. That was the name of the establishment. He was terrible. Him and John Oates since all they had were each other and they needed other musicians but they didn't have the money. So make a long story short knowing him from then till now🎉 wow how that man has evolved. The funny part is when I was that young and I would speak about him. Song such as Sara Smile and one-on-one was on the radio. No one knew either song. I would say you don't know that song Sara smiles most people respond? No❤ I never heard it. So today I feel attached to him in a certain way because while he was growing up n he was evolving as a musician. I was evolving as a person.🎉 Today. Now that I look at him and everybody loves him and they all know all the world. I remember time when 🎉 no one knew him. No one knew the words but I always did because I saw the potential in this show man who is shining like a dime right now in front of this piano. God bless you Daryl. You made it 👏
Dorothy, such a deep response to the man I love! I am 80yrs now and I listened to Daryl on the LA radio. Saw him grow up with me on TV, sweet era, good times! Planned to see Hall and Oates live in Portland uh no, covid! Now I'll plan on going to Daryls House, music I've waited to see live💕🤗🎹🎙🎶🎵🎸🎷🥁 I was to busy raising a family going back to college when I was young to see concerts. Now I love this song and the video, going to see it live at "Daryls House". Tell me more about "My Father's House" I like your comments about music, yes! 🥂 sweet success for Daryl and John💯 😘💕😎🕊🥀 Best of Rock and Soul!

I love Hamburg. It's my favorite city. The Reeperbahn is a good time, and I had a great time everywhere there. It's a beautiful city.
I named me daughter after this song.. and she's 33 now but I sing it and listen to it everyday... So thank you Daryl.. it's my baby girl ❤️❤️
Brilliant musician, no one can match him. I have been listening to him for 60 years ❤❤

Hey where was this performed?
Creo que es dedicada a su esposa, genial.
People he's 76 but he's still amazing!!!
Good God.. his voice is gone.. like skinning a live cat
What happened to John Oates?
Daryl is presently suing John.
Can't quite pull of what he did when younger because what he did then required peak physicality, but his body of work leaves him with nothing to prove.
🤘🫶🤘
Love him and the song. BUT, I love the original arrangement way better. It sounded like a crappy cover.
His voice has gone all quivery.
As you get older, your muscles, get a little weaker and you use muscles to sing.
@@Rick.Grayson didn’t happen to Tony Bennett!
He’s been living with Lyme disease for decades. All things considered, he looks and sounds amazing.
