How to build LUXURY referral relationships

  • In episode 013 of The FundLoans Mortgage Minute, Jon Maddux meets up with Clinton Selfridge at his $8.8MM listing in Encinitas, CA to talk about what is important to luxury realtors and how you can start working with them!
    What do luxury realtors care about? How can you WORK with these luxury realtors?
    1) Realtors are open to hearing about new products and being educated on how they can best serve their borrowers. So go to open houses and present a mortgage product that they may not already know about.
    2) You work with who you know. You're not going to win over the business of these professionals by a simple meet and greet. You must invest! Take them out to coffee, offer to help them host an open house--give them a chance to know you!
    3) Once you've built a relationship, you may find yourself with a bonafide JUMBO referral. What does this mean? DON'T SCREW IT UP! This is the test--will you sink or swim?
    4) You've made it, Champ! You've built a solid relationship with a luxury realtor, came through on several deals, and have earned a reputation for following through. What's next? Continue to build that relationship. Successful people socialize with successful people and more often than not, you will find yourself networking with other high-end professionals.
