Peter, have you gotten your hands on the V2 Short Speys? Any input and/or info on grain windows?

The ShortSpey series have a very useful, general purpose taper that'll handle a range of lines and situations, both at close range and at distance, so it should work for your fishing.

Peter, I want to cast a scandi line with this rod I purchased on your recommendations. A fly shop suggested Airflo's Rage 420. Your thoughts?

That would work s well as the 450. If you plan on using the heaviest PolyLeaders on this line, the definitely go 450. If you want more of a finesse option, then the 420. This video goes into all of the line options this rod will handle: ua-cam.com/video/kOI3vl_bEj0/v-deo.html

    Hello Again Peter
I watched videos on the NRX How does this Compare with The IMX?
Can I go to a 6 weight in a NRX compared to the 7 Weight IMX?
    Thanks
    Peter

The NRX+ would have the edge in swing weight, power and responsiveness., but the difference is not large. The NRX+ 6 wt. is a 6 wt. so except it to perform as such. The IMX-PRO 7 wt. will handle heavier lines. Loomis rods tend to be accurate when it comes to line ratings and you're not going to see 7 wts. masquerading as 6 wts.

Is that rod Gloomis flagship rod. At that price, I hope it's fav.

No, there are two models above the IMX-Pro - the NRX+ followed by the Asquith.

Hi there, just wonder. I have £1000 in UK pounds for a rod. The line i will be using is a airflo rage. What what be the best Spey rod in your opinion around 14ft. Hardy.. Mackenzie, G.loomis, Loop, Guideline?

For the record, over the last decade and a half at different times, I've been with Guideline, Mackenzie and now Loomis. All these companies produce great rods, so I don't think you would be making a mistake buying from any one of them.
That said, if I planned to be doing all of my fishing with an 85' Carron, I definitely get a Mackenzie, but if I wanted the best general purpose rod, it would be Loomis.
I don't know if you're aware of the Yellowstone shootouts where the rods from all of the top companies are compared, but in these tests, Loomis consistently takes top honours. Loomis took top spot in both shootouts in 2020.

This shootout involved single hand rods, but the results can be extrapolated to salmon rods as well.

    Hello Peter
    I'm looking at 10' 7weoght IMX Pro
It's hard to choose a rod in these times as we are not allowed to hold , feel or Try them.
So picking something by watching videos and trust options of more experienced anglers for me is the way to go.
I would be using the 10 footer for kind of an all around rod one I can use in the boat and also fishing Credit river and the gramd.
    Would this fit the bill?
Price wise its perfect at 640 bucks
How does the Imx feel whem casting any vibration?
Any other comments or suggestions is very much Appreciated
    Thanks
    Peter

Between my own rods and demos, I've had seven IMX-PRO fly rods and one spinning rod, but I've not had the 10' 7 wt. They were all well damped, very light and responsive. Distance casting was very good and I think that they perform better than some other more expensive rods.
