Harvicks always been my favorite but with him getting older I’m tryna find a younger driving to follow since Harvick won’t be around forever I’m leaning Briscoe and Chastain I really like Chastain

Great race! So action packed and wild. They'd be stupid to take this track off the schedule. Especially with how many people stuck around to watch the race today in person.
As a Kurt Busch fan, I swear. Every time I think that this season has hit rock bottom, it manages to find a portal to another dimension and dig there.

The issue of loose lug nuts, comes down to making sure that the tire changers make sure the tire is properly seated and tightened. In other series that have single lug nuts, it is a rarity that this happens. If they can change the tires faster than they can put in fuel, they can take the time to get it done right.
Felt like the scene in Ratatouille where Ego flashes back to his childhood. There have been a few races this year that felt like Gen 4 races and it's been awesome

Best Dover race in years! And I agree with the Iceburg on this when he says it felt like a Gen 4 Dover Race, it really did, what a day! Total shame that it had to be on a Monday, would've loved to see the full crowd celebrate Chase's win!
Honestly comparing the grand stands between today and yesterday it looks like everyone stayed
@@BlandSpagetti as someone who was in the stands on both days it wasn't even close. The turns were basically empty today where as yesterday they were decently full and the section I sat in, entrance of 1, it was about 1/2 full from yesterday still pretty full though

I was not able to stay for Monday 12pm shoot I will say even just make it 1pm. I don't see them going on hey here's a sporting even on the west cost let's move it up for the people on the east cost so they don't have to be up till 1am

I was there! Finally saw my boy win in person! I was at Martinsville in 2020 when he won but I wasn’t able to get in because of Covid restrictions (watched from outside the track and had my scanner). This was a great race for Dover’s standards especially since it got delayed. I’m so used to it being a boring single file long green race. Not this time! I wonder if the next gen car had anything to do with it. Track position still mattered but I saw more passing and 2 lanes working for once. I was right on the fence by the flag stand where he did his burnout. Chase looked directly at me when I was cheering him on. So memorable! I’m glad I came back today! 😊

It's amazing that there wasn't a phantom caution at the end of the race to tighten everyone up for a restart.
As expected this is Elliott's best track next to the Glen, he was strong all week glad things finally went his way in a race but i honestly felt like when Busch & Bowman pitted and got caught at the end of the lead lap cars the race flipped for Elliott and he definitely shined go #9 🔥🔥
As someone who will be lucky to go to a second cup race this year (I live closest to dover) thank you for saying what you said at the start of this video eric. It was a real bummer not being able to go back on Monday. The crowd and atmosphere Sunday in the fan zone was absolutely electric.
My home town from the state of Dover Delaware. I think it’s the best attendance we’ve had in years. We were sitting shoulder to shoulder in turns 4 in front of Kyle Larsons pit box on the Sunday of the race. Monday was about 65% full. And I agree with you about the way they started the race till 3:00pm Eastern Time start it at 1:00pm instead. But as a local Dover Moter Speedway fan I’m getting tired of the rain delays but it’s again all about timing.

I drove 3 hours to Dover Saturday morning, watched the xfinity race. Went to the cup race the next day and had to go home for work. Then couldn’t even watch the race because of work. It kills me because I spent a ton of money on this trip and when it all was said and done I couldn’t even watch it on my own tv. Disappointed in scheduling for today/ yesterday’s race. I agree that they should start races early at tracks with no lights it helps people like me who spent a ton of money to come see it. Hopefully we will see and earlier race at New Hampshire.

I'm disappointed I couldn't stay to watch elliott win for my first cup race, but at least we caught the first 79 laps.
I hope the attendance will keep Dover on the schedule. I went sunday but couldnt go monday, but hope to go for every year
Chase is being Chase. He never gets his win early. He’s consistently getting top 10s to rack up points but never wins early in the season
A lot like Tony for some reason. Seems to get better as the year goes on and races get more important.
Reminds me of Kenseth. Start towards the back and finish top 5 without anyone talking about him all race.

Nobody talking about how well Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ran? He was about as fast as Elliott towards the end and was really fast. Happy for a great finish.

The race started for me today at 6 in the morning although I was busy getting ready for my day at college and missed out some of the parts from this race. But I was able to watch the highlights of it once the race is over. Congrats to Chase Elliott for getting the win at Dover along with some great runs other drivers had today! This Dover race has been pretty decent so far! Can’t wait for the Darlington weekend along with seeing those beautiful throwback schemes on track!
Surprised the 9 won. His pit crew let him down several times. Chastain’s crew was stout as they’ve been all year. I’m surprised Hendrick Management hasn’t stepped in to upgrade Chase’s pit crew.
Only thing I figure is Chase feels loyalty to that crew and so does Alan.
I couldn't agree more weekend week out his crew cost him wins.. the rest is teams Hendrix.. has better Crew... If they expect that board win another championship he's going to need a new crew.. and probably a new crew chief.. the other teams in Hendrick have top notch guys.. he's got leftovers.. give him a good crew chief and a good crew and you will see him sail back to the top...
The only Toyota lower in the point standings than the two cars from 23X1 Racing is the owner of 23X1 Racing.
I just want to point out that William Byron gets 0 love, nobody talks about him, he only has 3 shirts at the track today and 1 was from last year. Nobody sells his stuff at the tents.
It's because he's pretty vanilla and run of the mill personality wise. I love willy b but he's not a villain he's not a hero, he's just there you know.

@@RealTalkRacing I totally agree, I would say kinda similar to Jimmie Johnson, was one of/if not the guy, and he didn't get much love from the fans for the most part. Not saying Bryon is jimmies level but similar.
That sucks. I would maybe buy an Axalta shirt. Once he starts making the Final 4 though, he will gain popularity.

Marcus and his wife were in Dover, he did the interview at the Monster with Alex Bowman. He seemed thrilled with the crowd and the events, and I hope they keep Dover around.
I who don’t have cable watched the Indy race at my home track of barber. The Indy race was on big NBC. The broadcast was absolutely amazing. The race was about 1 1/2 hours. It was pretty good racing all things considered. I understood the tire strats and what the drivers were like due to the broad cast. Tickets started at $45 and got you any where in the park. You could also buy pit passes and other perks for more money. It was sold out to hell and one of my friends who went in person said it was good. Talladega last week was not sold out. Tickets started at $65 for the worst section of seating. The race was on big FOX. The racing was good. The broadcast was good for nascar but lags way behind indycar. I didn’t have the pleasure of going to either race for various reasons(mostly I had shit to do other than drive my ass out there on a Sunday afternoon) and I know that the atmosphere at talladega is unmatched by any track but I don’t think the atmosphere at barber was bad by any means. For both races that happened in Alabama this past few weeks I think the one at barber was better. And I prefer to watch oval racing. Plus the race at Dover this week was on FS1. Nascar needs to step it up.
Not sure how Sunday looked on TV but at the track action seemed great with the rubber laid down from xfinity. a lot of guys running different lines it seemed. Love Dover its so unique

Dover was my first race in person, and of course I had work Monday. But as a Chase Elliott fan, I'm still going to say my favorite driver won the first race I went to, without shame lolol
This is the first time in the "win in you're in" era, Hendrick motorsports has all four cars qualify for the playoffs in back to back years. And the first time since 2012-2014 that all Hendrick cars making the playoffs.

Agree totally with the earlier start time suggestion! My wife and I sat up there for about 3 hours with sun popping in and out before the race actually started! I'm a local fan to Dover and it's a joke. We had to take vacation Monday to come back. The west coast needs to wake the hell up in the morning if they wish to see cup races. Very good video Eric!
I have seen comments from west coast fans they got no problem with 10am local time. it the networks and advertisers if not also the premier partners as in Xfinity, Geico, Coke and Busch
Cody ware seems to be a common issue this year. Its becoming a trend. He tries to take out Chase Elliott under caution on the dirt. Last week at dega he got spun out and was understandably mad at his teammate. This week he collects Hamlin. Also @Eric Estepp, shocking you never mentioned one guy who ran top 15-20 in this race, that guy being Ryan Preece in rwr equipment. Preece has been good no matter what series or track hes on or in.
I'm glad to see Bowman running and finishing well this season. Even after a really poorly timed caution for him, he recovered for a top 5. That's grit!

It was a pretty fun race to watch though. Got to stay home and watch it.
9/10 for me I was able to listen to it through MRN on nascar's app from my ears standpoint fun race.If it was on regular tv it would be viewed more and more people could have a way to watch it like me and millions of others who don't have cable or in Dovers case fs1Dover needs to stay on the schedule it has good competitive racing the only issue is it got rained out so the tv ratings won't be as great hopefully they give it another chance.
It’s actually an advantage when the race is on FS1. I was able to watch the race on my Xfinity streaming app while at work because it was on FS1. Usually when it’s on the main Fox channel it will block it out for streaming and say “you need to be connected to in home Wi-Fi”.

I’m a Pocono regular and this was my second trip down to Dover. (And couldn’t stay for the Monday race). I’ve seen way too many Monday races, and with how beautiful the weather was in the morning, the 3:00 start with rain knowing was coming, stinks. We’ve seen NASCAR move up the start times for xfinity and trucks to avoid rain, why can’t they do that for cup? I imagine the loss in viewers of 1pm start vs 3 is much less than a 3pm to a Monday noon
The real story here is Ryan Preece once again showing everyone in the garage and around the world why he is the BEST CHOICE to take over the Stewart Haas #10 next year. Preece wowed em again! There's no other driver ANYWHERE that deserves the #10 ride more than Ryan Preece. This 31 year old is AMAZING 👏

I go to dover every year for the past 10 years… got covid and missed it and unfortunately it was one of the best races (even though they are all fun!)… sad i missed it and had to watch it from home

I thought it was a good race, Elliot’s crew finally did not lose him a race but the 11 car losing a tire on pit road opened the door for others. Hamlin had the car to beat.

Bubba Wallace had a sway bar link break sometime during to the race. Crew chief told him after the race when they were checking the car out.
When I lived in California, I appreciated the 10:00-11:00 starting times. I didn’t have to spend the afternoon watching a race.

I really hope Dover stays on the schedule, would be an absolute shame to lose a unique track with so much character. Also Miles the Monster was hungry today, lots of bent and broken carbon fibre today.
I attended Dover in 2017 when Jimmie Jam won his last *official* race. Good tight racing all around, and when it was calm. There were back markers up front such as Casey Mears, (then) Kyle Larson, Daniel Suarez (19), Erik Jones (77). With the big one at the end and JJ winning. I feel that even though Dover can bee boring sometimes. (Which it was when I went back in 2018). It can provide close and hard racing when the drivers are preforming well and have diverse front runners.
Fan favorite Elliot wins in next gen era, Ricky Mullet getting absolutely well needed 2nd place, Watermelon Ross continues to have strong performance week in week out! Well done gentlemen 👍

I went to Dover for the first time since 2015 and so disappointing with NASCAR and Fox with start time. NASCAR is rating hungry and no regard with the fans. WE had a group of 5 on Sunday and only 2 could return on Monday. And driving 180 miles round trip daily. At least the race was very good.

I saw it up to the rain delay on Sunday, but we were road tripping back home on Monday and the DVR didn't grab it. There were about 80 laps left when I got home, I hit record, and waited for my son to get home a couple hours behind us... and the recording cut out with 8 laps to go. Boo, hiss.

Tracks that don't have lights should race Saturday afternoon so if there's a rain delay they can go on Sunday

I went to the race yesterday and sadly I couldn’t come back today. Wished it was possible to push the race to 1 if rain is in the forecast. However nascar is letting people who couldn’t go back to the race get a refund and change the tickets to another race.
That is a SMI policy too. They can go to a race within SMI track before next year or to Dover next year should they have a 2023 date. So, they might let many of those fans go to a playoff race.
Yeah idk what to say to Truex, boy's my No. 2 fav, but he spun himself out. This isn't the same as Newman playing lame duck on Matty D at Bristol, this was for a podium spot (of which Ross now has *SIX* out of his 7 Top 5s).
Super hype to see Chase win though, after Larson just laid waste to the competition last year, I was worried he might be slumping a bit (from winning, dude's been the points leader for what feels like forever now). HMS clench a playoff sweep yet again, love to see it

The track president said before the race in person said dover will be back next year also their site has it up to lock in ur tickets from this year for next year also now so good chance 2023 dover is a thing
