I hope eventually they can return and have there own physical stores again. I hate not having any toy stores around me. My opinions are Walmart, target, or online shopping. I miss going into a toy store. I remember as a kid going into toys rus and how special it was because I didn’t get too do it often. Most kids nowadays play with electronics. I had electronics too as a kid but I played more with toys then anything else. The majority of toy sales was made are from adult collectors
Toys R Us never disappeared in Canada (where it is owned by an independent group). All Canadian stores remained open, and even weathered the pandemic better than most other retailers. It's proof that Toys R Us' troubles cannot be blamed on toy sales or online competition, but is entirely the result of the leveraged buyout and mismanagement at the executive level!
TRU in the US was on the rebound when it was pumped and dumped. While it is true the pandemic might have hurt it bad, it was no longer actually considered a failing company. In fact, it was growing while most other retailers were continuing to be squeezed out by the retail apocalypse. The secret is that you can't replace in-person browsing for toys with children. Kids need a big space dedicated to kids' stuff to run around in - unlike adults who let themselves become jaded with having to go out places, kids WANT to go to brick and mortar stores. (If the stores have something they're interested in.)
Toys R Us was and is an icon of my childhood! It was where I got my first Thomas toy. When it closed down in 2018, my heart was broken for half a year. But, my heart was taped back together when Toys R Us reopened in Macy's. It was no physical Toys R Us Store but it worked and made me happy!
I sure hope it comes back to the US with actual stores. I used to like going there every once in a while and shopping. The one I used to go to was always busy. And places like Walmart and Target are just not the same as an actual toy store.
When I used to shop at Walmart, they were these my little pony blind bags and they stopped selling them for some random reason because they were I think out of stock and my aunt gave me $50 to go and go get my my little pony when I went in to Toys “R” Us when I was 15 I was so happy that they had my blind bags and now.
I am 19 and I wish that Toys “R” Us was still up because I would love to go again and go get some my little pony toys and some other toys. I may be an adult but I love to play with toys and dress up Barbie dolls. I miss Toys “R” Us. I wish I would come back to Pennsylvania
Hey @VtuberVixxy - Thanks for the comment. Toys "R" Us holds such a special part in the lives of so many of us. That's why it's such great news that they're making a comeback. You never know, your local Macy's could be home to the next Toys "R" Us store!
@@BrandBreakdown I know Toys “R” Us has so many great memories. I really wanted to take my kids there because I’m about to get married in 2028 and I want my kids to experience what I experienced when I was growing up I may be 19 but I still am a kid at heart I mean I still watch my little pony in SpongeBob and stuff like that I wish they would bring back Toys “R” Us and another thing that has been gone for a while, which is called old country buffet but we don’t talk about that
Ahh Toys R Us, the place where my mom & dad got me my first console ever, the n64 w/ Super Mario 64. Years later the Nintendo Game Cube with of course Super Mario Sunshine. I love toys r Us.

One of the best parts of visiting Vancouver Canada was going to a Toys R Us , my kids were too young when I use to take them several years ago. now they're 8-10 and could appreciate the beauty of a real toy store.I remember when my dad would take my brother and I to Toys R Us ,it was like Christmas.
I remember the 80s and 90s Toys R Us had some of the coolest toys that you couldn't find anyplace else! Sad, they went through such turmoil and Amazon took them down. I am glad to see them making a return even if it starts in the UK. Walking into a major store with so many different and creative toys, nobody I felt ever beat Toys R Us.
I work for a Macy's location in the Miami, FL area. Our store converted the Macy's toy department into a Toys 'R' Us location. I was very happy to see this. We also have a Radio Shack located in the mall.
I didn't grow up with toys R us, but I have a nostalgic place myself, the lycoming mall. I have so many fond memories of going there, but now, it just looks so dark and empty, I went to a closing books a near yesterday and saw windows into the thing, I was almost on the verge of tears. Apparently some company bought it and is trying to turn it into a old folks home or smh, screw those guys.
Missing important information, the owners of TRUS which was a financial company at the time was bleeding the company dry, they where making a profit not only in the toy brand but in the babies R Us stores as well. It’s owners were using the money to pay off other debts and let both brands into ruins. Today it’s true they have opened inside of macys but they have also opened stand alone stores as well such as the location in America dream mall in NJ.
There was a Toys “R” Us not to far from where I lived. It was where I got most of my toys and helped me get Lego when I was older. It closed in 2017, which was quite tragic. I have to travel a lot further to get Lego these days and I still miss the feeling of going there (it was like an even).
This place was the bang every year when the catalog came out near christmas time. Always really enjoyed a good walk through this store. Even when I grew up and was able to bring my son as a child.
I wish all the stuff about Bain Capital was not left out. Doing so makes it look like TRU's bankruptcy was Amazon's fault, and not due to the literally millions of dollars of debt that it was saddled with by Bain that had nothing at all to to with it's business, nor any benefit to it.
Well,, when I heard that TOYS R US was closing, I almost cried like a kid 😢😢. I'm in my 50's , grew up with it and my kids also. Now as grandpa, I wish to go to a TOYS R US store and "PLAY" with my grandsons in store to make me as a kid again😂. The toy you couldn't find, they had it!! Miss touching, play, see physical, trying the toys before buying, which now by internet I think a lot before buying. I HOPEFULLY they start and stay nationwide again.
I’m currently 13. I live in Australia and most of the Toys’R’us stores fell threw in 2018. I was 8 at this time. I remember me and my little brother would run down the long aisles, play a game of hide and seek and then eventually pick out a toy. I remember when I heard that store was closing down I cried.
Born in the early 90s, and while my family rarely went to Toys R Us for various reasons (most of my childhood toys came from stores like Walmart, KB Toys, or -- here in the Midwest -- Meijer), I always loved going inside Toys R Us when we did go there. That place was like a dream come true for me and millions of other kids across several generations. I hope they can start opening brick and mortar stores here in the States again, even if the Canadian company (which still exists) does it. I know they've had a few pop-up stores in the last few years, so anything is possible. BTW, there's a minor error in this video. Toys R Us actually DID sell video games, and in fact, they were one of the first major toy retailers to do so. They recognized the potential early, and it was another ingredient in their success.
Back in Christmas 2018, I decided to buy a toy for myself, but Toys R Us was closed and I'm really sad. So I buy toys from Toy Kingdom instead. And in Christmas 2021, I brought a Harry Potter doll for myself. My young cousin really liked the doll I brought from Toys R Us. I was in Power Plant Mall Philippines in Toys R Us every Christmas. 😊
As a boy who went to toys r us when I was around th ages of like, maybe 5 - 7, I am surprised to hear that toys r us came back, only hearing it shut down.
I'm sorry Toys R Us won't be back until they're the Toys R Us in Tulsa Oklahoma and other cities Nationwide that stand alone on its own feet and not coupled with Macy's.
I’m 28 years old and still like playing with Toys and Action Figures, especially Bionicles. Call it my High Functioning Autism or just the Inner Child but there’s a certain magic in being able to lose yourself in your own imagination and maybe even recall a simpler time of life. Going to Toys R Us was fun for me even when I was in Highschool, even IF I didn’t always buy something, so I’m glad it has the potential to live on. Maybe if they start dealing in Old Toy Brands and Collectibles I might pop in!
It never disappeared in the Philippines. It even survived the Pandemic despite of months of lockdown specially for kids. There were times that I am the only customer in the store. Their presence in popular shopping apps and being backed up by one of the biggest local conglomerates may have helped the Philippine branches stay afloat.
I’m glad the company is back but I wish they were just a normal toys “R” Us instead of going into a Macy’s stores in seeing a toys R us way in the back
I Am so Happy Toys "R" Us Revived! Closing Down all Stores back in 2018 was One of the Biggest Mistakes They could ever Done! My Childhood is Saved! Thank Heaven!
i am actually going to our Toys r us here in newfoundland next week, it never closed in st johns, i believe there is a few on site locations still across Canada.
I remember going to Toys R Us when I was a lot younger, I was confused about how the entire company when bankrupt after being such a big success. It’s sad seeing the abandoned buildings in shopping outlets that I once used to go to. Toys R Us can no longer have its own stores, but one time inside a mall, in a clothes store, there was a small Toys R Us section that had toys and children's clothes, it was crazy to me to see Toys R Us still actively selling stuff, just not in their own store.
NOPE! An online site or a little Toys R Us spot inside another store will NEVER be the same as shopping in a HUGE toy store. Bring back the stand alone store. Maybe not as big, but it’s own building. THAT is what we loved and want back.
I remember one day I went to Macys with my mom, when I saw a sign saying that Toys R Us was on the 3rd floor. I didn’t believe it, until I saw it for myself.
I heard about Macy's having Toy R Us however after a few years Macy's stores closed in Maine where I live. There was a Macy's in the Bangor Maine and Portland Maine Mall they are gone now. Maybe Toys R Us should have been in a different store.
Ab, the memories from that store. For me, if I want get a new toy, if was always Toy R’ Us. I’m in my 20’s and into getting LEGO now. Sadly that the Toys R’ Us location in my town got shut down, but also the Macy’s as well in my town’s mail. So there’s no way for me to go look in there. Mostly I get LEGO pieces off of Bricklink to expand my collection and hobby of LEGO, so I’m glad that Toys R’ Us didn’t fade away from existence and is still around
My childhood Toys R Us shut down over 7 years ago and the mall that I frequented in my youth which was right beside it got bought and torn down, and turned into an Amazon warehouse. Kinda funny and ironic to me after watching this video, they sued and beat Amazon in court all those years ago and now that Toys R Us still sits there abandoned next to a functioning Amazon warehouse.
As much as people don't like me for this, I'm a squishmallow collector (I started recently, only 3 Squishies) and Toys R Us is a great store for me to find the right squish for my collection. (There's no targets in my state, at least I never saw one before.) When I heard toys r us is going down, I was devastated. Keeps the child alive in me (I mean, I am a child but I'm getting "too old" for this stuff apparently)
This Video doesnt apply to Canada at ALL NONE of my three local Toy R us stores closed for a second, and there is still proudly 81 shops all across Canada.
I live in the UK and the shop that are getting Toys R Us shops is WHSmith which is a book shop but sadly mine STILL doesn’t have it yet and I’m kind of worried that I won’t be able to see it ever again.
I really miss the Toys R Us stores. I remember window shopping there with my kids when they were little, and i think i enjoyed these " adventures " as much or perhaps even more than they did!! Yes indeed, toysrus will forever live on in my memories ❤
I never went to toys R US But I know it was a good place But all the downfalls It's just nothing But thank god you're on 2023 We can finally Go back to old memories😌
I Hope eventually they can return and have there own physical stores again😢 I hate not having any toy stores around me😢 My opinions are Walmart, target, or online shopping. Toys “R” Us is still not back. It’s still abandoned but when we was not born and my mom was a kid she to go inside Toys “R” Us because it was not a abandoned back in her days
No its not. TRU Canada was a separate part of teh US based TRU international ( all the euro stores were under this umbrella as well ) They ahd their own fully independaNT president and board. They did sell to another company nut the logo brand were always thiers and still is. Of note the company has actually added stores post pandemic and continues to grow.@@chriskay1449
Keep in mind you're competing with online sales like Amazon, and Walmart. Keep your prices in check, while providing a quality product, while competing online, you'll be fine.
Toys R us closed when I was in preschool that was the saddest day for me since that was my favorite place to go when I was littile now that I’m in 5th 6 years later I still want to see toys r us ATLEAST once since they put it in macys I was so happy until I found out it was littile it still brought a joy to my face if only I could see my og original huge toys r us store it would bring so much joy to my face I didn’t know what toys to get when I went inside toys r us (huge) one time I Finnaly made my Choice 2 days before it closed I chose to get a garbage toy truck that was the only toy I had gotte I’m so happy there starting to open toys r us again who else has the same feeling as me that was like wonderland for me even if I’m not a girl I still wish I could ATLEAST see the girl toys ATLEAST once again
👋🇨🇦 we were lucky Toys R Us is still going strong. My kids and grandkids have wonderful memories shopping here. I hope in the U S it makes a comeback in a big way.
i looked in the macy's , the toysrus section was so small and only had the priced up gifts you see at christmas time, that you see when they are trying to get as much money when it's christmas, selling a 9 inch tall figure of captain america, when all i wanted was a 3.75 inch figure line for Avengers 3 and Captain America 3
🇬🇧We lost our stores in 2018 but in the UK Babies R Us was online until 2021. Now we have stores in Canterbury (St George Street), Chelmsford (High Street), Cheltenham (High Street), Cwmbran (The Mall), Oxford (Cornmarket Street), Poole (Towngate Shopping Centre), Reading (Broad Street), Solihull (Mell Square) and York (Monks Cross retail park) the closest on to me is in either canterbury or reading open some stores in london please 😭theres an abandoned toys r us just off my highway exit btw 😩🥺
I still have empty abandoned toys R us and babies R us stores in my state. Some better than others but all completely empty except for the signs which still get power and come on at night. Hope they reopen physical locations though and not just stay in Macy's for good.
I hope and pray that you can come back and be bigger and ever. What I mean is the stores be like a supercenter Toys r Us. Only two in the whole state of each state. State of Georgia there'll be one up near Atlanta and one here in Valdosta Georgia . For those that can't make it they can shop online.
i loved this shop, when i was a kid i absolutely did love it. but then when it closed, i went to smyths toys, i still do just to get fnaf merch, but now though, i only have 1 toys r us thats opened close to me, and its part of a W H smiths, and it is just a tiny section in it..💀 the only part in the little toys r us i like are the funko pops. but sadly theres no fnaf plushes. i dont get why they closed, if they didnt, i could of probabaly had so much more fnaf merch or games now, i hope one day the section becomes its own full shop and where a toys r us one was in a city that i loved to go to as it was massive, comes back as massive as ever, even more possibly way more massive, i just loved toys r us, but hey, atleast its coming back a bit.
Look, I was born in 2007. The reason why little kids these days are using UA-cam videos to fill their mind with is messed up. Kids should play with physical stuff that doesn’t have to do with online stuff. Of course I used an Nintendo, but that’s when Times were good
When is Toys “R” Us coming back to America and back to the stores I want to go back to the store to my childhood favorite store. Toys “R” Us was my favorite child favorite store when I was a kid.

so I'm 15 and when my local toys R us closed down, I remember it selling like video games and the accessories and stuff
As long as they reopen the Iconic New York location, I’ll be happy
I wonder what happened to the T-rex animatronic, it'd be nice if they bring that back too.
Ain't no way this channel only has 798 subs. When i started watching, i thought you had millions.
Toys R Us in Malaysia never died, we also had the last of the Borders book stores and even RadioShack's in the world
wow,I haven't been to radioshack in years, they closed ours down years ago
I was heartbroken when Toys R Us Closed but I’m glad it’s slowly coming back.
ToysRus is my child hood I have over 1000 Thomas trains 🚂🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋🚃 And finally my wish is come true 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
Toys R US and Randy West Part of My Childhood in the years of 1980's and 1990's.
This Video doesnt apply to Canada at ALL NONE of my three local Toy R us stores closed for a second, and there is still proudly 81 shops all across Canada.
Because that is a completely different company from teh one talked about here. The one in Canada licensed the Toy R Us name.
I remember the last time i went to a toys r us. It was with my dad in 2017. He went along with the stores.
Unfortunately I don’t remember going to Toys “R” Us but I love the video
I never went to toys R US But I know it was a good place But all the downfalls It's just nothing But thank god you're on 2023 We can finally Go back to old memories😌
I Hope eventually they can return and have there own physical stores again😢 I hate not having any toy stores around me😢 My opinions are Walmart, target, or online shopping. I miss going into a toy store as a toddler going into toy rus and how special it was because I didn’t get it often. Most kids nowadays plsy with electronics. I have electronics as a kid but I play more with toys then anything else. The majority of toy sales www made are from adult collectors💔
Toys “R” Us is still not back. It’s still abandoned but when we was not born and my mom was a kid she to go inside Toys “R” Us because it was not a abandoned back in her days
Yo you guys remember grocery gang? They were pretty cool but they stopped selling them In 2017
As I understand they never closed in Canada. I've seen current videos of people shopping there over the past couple years.
That is a different company that licenses the Toys R Us name and logo.
I love how you showed anime figures as children's toys =P, esp the danganronpa bear ;D
Toys R Us AllReddy R In 9 WHSmith The Locations R In York & Oxford & Cheltenham & Cwmbran & Reading & Solihull & Poole & Chelmsford & Canterbury 7:51
I loved this Story of Toys R Us.
This channel is rather underrated, I'll be here before this reaches 100k subs.
Proof: I was here when it was only at 1.58k subs.
I'm so happy toys r us is still in Canada
I used to love going to Toys R Us
Toys R Us was my FAVORITE store to go to as a little kid. I was devastated when it closed, so I was rejoicing when it reetuned❤❤❤❤
I actually love it I won't to know we're the closest one is to jacksonville florida and is there any plans to bring a store here in the future

👋🇨🇦 we were lucky Toys R Us is still going strong. My kids and grandkids have wonderful memories shopping here. I hope in the U S it makes a comeback in a big way.
What do you mean 18’s and 19’s I was born in 2010 and it was still a thing until about 2018-2019
There will be 2 toys r us near me! One is out today when in typing! The other one came out a few months ago!! I’m actually so happy rn
I really hope eventually they make the big stores in America again
thank goodness it's back! the last product I bought from Toys R Us was a pair of fake silver cheerleading pom-poms
i looked in the macy's , the toysrus section was so small and only had the priced up gifts you see at christmas time, that you see when they are trying to get as much money when it's christmas, selling a 9 inch tall figure of captain america, when all i wanted was a 3.75 inch figure line for Avengers 3 and Captain America 3
3:39 Damn bro nice voice
🇬🇧We lost our stores in 2018 but in the UK Babies R Us was online until 2021. Now we have stores in Canterbury (St George Street),

YES YES I HOPE THEY HAVE LPS (the exclusive ones :D)
I was born before toys r us closed its been my child hood and I'm happy it's back❤
In the U.K. the only toys r us that is open is a small section inside another shop. I always shopped in toys r us when i was younger
8:08 thanks to Macy’s. The darkness finally gave away for a brand new beam of light for Toys “R” Us to gives us something real something substantial.
I still have empty abandoned toys R us and babies R us stores in my state. Some better than others but all completely empty except for the signs which still get power and come on at night. Hope they reopen physical locations though and not just stay in Macy's for good.
Your very underrated great video
KEEP TOYS R US ALIVE IT WAS EVERYONES CHILDHOOD!!
Upcoming Content creator alert 🎉
I hope and pray that you can come back and be bigger and ever. What I mean is the stores be like a supercenter Toys r Us. Only two in the whole state of each state. State of Georgia there'll be one up near Atlanta and one here in Valdosta Georgia . For those that can't make it they can shop online.
Thanks a lot kids playing digital games you got one of the best toy stores shut down
i loved this shop, when i was a kid i absolutely did love it. but then when it closed, i went to smyths toys, i still do just to get fnaf merch, but now though, i only have 1 toys r us thats opened close to me, and its part of a W H smiths, and it is just a tiny section in it..💀 the only part in the little toys r us i like are the funko pops. but sadly theres no fnaf plushes. i dont get why they closed, if they didnt, i could of probabaly had so much more fnaf merch or games now, i hope one day the section becomes its own full shop and where a toys r us one was in a city that i loved to go to as it was massive, comes back as massive as ever, even more possibly way more massive, i just loved toys r us, but hey, atleast its coming back a bit.
I love toys R Us and I'm so excited that Toys r Us Back
Look, I was born in 2007.
*We still got em in the UK, somewhere.*
*Oh wait they just got placed into a W.H Smith store.*
*good job guys.*
