I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid, they got a million toys at Toys R Us that I can play with... 🤣 Memories!!! This is great. I still have the huge banners and signs I picked up when my local Toys R Us shut down. You are right though, shopping online is definitely not the same as being in the store. I miss going into the parking lot and seeing the sign lit up and the colored slats lining the front of the store. Awesome video!
My childhood is being relived… the last time i ever went into a toys r us was in the American Dream mall in 2021. I remember always going for Fungus Amongus, Grossery Gang, stickers and cars. If the states still had toys r us id be going there day after day if i was still 8.
I hate that leveraged buyouts lead to great stores closing in the US. That happened to Toys R Us, and that more recently happened to the 99 Cent Stores. From what I saw it looks like the same is happening to Big Lots soon as well. Toy manufacturers said Toys R Us still were profitable for them, and Toys R Us going under hurt their bottom lines. But there was no one to swoop in and buy Toys R Us or try to start the same thing from scratch. I DO love that it seems like ever since Toys R Us closed, a lot of collectable stores have opened up in my area, selling tons of action figures. Feels like they're somewhat making up for the void left by it. Also, those shirts. We never had those. Some pretty good ones there.
These stores are so cool because they look like they haven’t been updated in forever, they still have all the really old fixtures and stuff, awsome looking store! (They do seem a little expensive on abunch of stuff tho, even when converted to US currency, so it’s Awsome they have price match)
Thats the city I am from. I was shocked when you started to film canadian ones but also disappointed the spirit halloween in my town didnt return for you to film.
The stores do play a new version of the I'm A Toys R Us Kid jingle that they have used for commercials here. Some locations now have more adult products with small HMV ( a former store chain here in Canada) sections with records, Blu Rays, DVDs, T-Shirts and other stuff ( It's shown at 10:55)
Sad that there are not a lot of people shopping in this store. I remember shopping at Toys R Us for my kid, around 20 years ago, and they were always packed with people, especially around holidays.
You should remember that prices were lower back then, and the toys were of better quality compared to now. Prices in Canada are quite high, and everyone is price matching with Walmart.
In Canada we used to have Target too, but they removed it and now they’re only in the US. We kinda had the opposite affect of you guys losing Toys r Us
Last time I went to a toys R Us was late fall in the final fall season that store was open. They closed the following year with most the other stores. I miss this. I'm a little jealous too as I have had the idea of visiting a Canada TRU since at least 2019... just no where near a point where I will be able to anytime soon.
I go to toys r us every day. I'm feeling lucky to be in Canada. I hope I'm not too old to walk in toys r us. I may be 28 years old women who enjoys walking in toys r us buying toys still. I hope there's nothing wrong with me for loving toys.
I went to this toys r us in India recently and it was relatively new. Very dead store especially in a busy mall and it was a very mediocre store that could not live up to its American counterparts probably due to it being smaller or something. It’s not as popular in India as hamleys which is like some British toy store and it’s actually pretty cool.
The problem with Toys R Us is that it's too expensive compared to Target, Walmart, and Amazon. If they can't compete in price it's going to be hard to attract customers.
Toys r us actually came back in nj Nate visited my childhood store I remember going to toys r us so much back in my kid days I been to njs toys r us in the mall
This is awesome in the USA there are only 2 stores left, one in American Dream in East Rutherford,New Jersey and the other is in the Mall of America in Bloomington,Minnesota. There is also only one Babies R Us store left in the USA and it is also in the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford,New Jersey
I miss Toys R Us. The ones in the Macy's stores don't even come close. By the way, I always wanted the giant ninja turtles figures. Heck I even miss Kaybee Toys and Childrens palace.
I’d always go to toys r us with my grandma and grandpa and we’d always get games and me my grandma and grandpa would always play them together when I was over
Hey Nate u met my friend at spirt in Oshawa and gave him stickers 😊 could u possible do more fan mail videos? After Halloween since I know everyone loves the vids
Guess What? There's a MEGA Toys "R" Us in Hamilton, ON that has an even older Exterior logo than the one here. (The mall entrance logo here is what's on the Exterior of the MEGA Toys "R" Us in Hamilton, ON... I think, I can't tell if it's the same logo as the mall interior logo design, or if it's the one with the Jeffery The Giraffe image in a circle logo to the right of the Toys "R" Us logo, but without the Jeffery Logo). It looks like that one, but without the blue star around the backwards "R". It also has the yellow bar things with windows and Blue paint surrounding them on the exterior despite being part of a shopping plaza. It's pretty cool. That store was also bought by a private business man. And he owns it. (I know this information because I used to live in Hamilton, ON and would go to that specific Toys "R" Us store every time I would go to one). The store looks almost like the one in Windsor, ON, but the building exterior isn't flat like the Windsor one. It has that "slightly curved" front that the MEGA ones used to have before they looked like the Windsor one. The ceiling roof is also much higher up than this mall location. This Toys "R" Us in Hamilton, ON also shares with a Babies "R" Us store.
@@T3XACAN0 I would be relieved if it was that one. That's because the one I'm talking about, is actually in Hamilton. Near a Mall named "Lime Ridge Mall".
@@T3XACAN0 Well, I never lived in Stoney Creek so it's not a loss for me. I don't live in Hamilton anymore though. Thankfully I now live in a city that has a Toys "R" Us in a mall. Although, the logo is newer, and the store is a bit smaller compared to the Hamilton one.

I'm surprised of the Toys 'R Us existing in Canada. That company transformed into Smith Toys in Europe. First I thought you're using a time machine. 😆
Wow! After 6 years Nate gets to see a fully functional Toys R Us!!!!
Toys R Us being gone for so long made me forget what the interior looked like thanks for refreshing my mind

They replaced EB Games with GameStop here in Canada.

That is why some locations are closing down, sadly.
I’m so glad toys r us never closed in Canada I love going every time 😆
Man, I miss TrU. 😢 Amazing to see a walkthrough!
Walmart isn't as huge there as it is in the U.S plus no Target!
I love the hasbro logo on the side of the box
its great to see you in Canada Nate!!

I miss the toys r us we had, it close and got replaced by a liquor store. Lots of good stores i miss that had closed down in mid to late 2000's
There’s also a toys r us in American dream mall nj thsts 2 story’s tall!
And in mall of America as well in Bloomington mn
Proudly Canadian🥲
an actual toys r us!? THATS SO COOL!!
There’s still one in American dream mall nj
Sadly my local toys r us closed but I rember going there on the last day and getting toys I still have those toys.
My old bike was the last thing I bought at toys r us and got it for Christmas in 2017
How cool is that?! But in my opinion, the vinyl records they have there aren’t by very kid-friendly artists!
I think HMV is mostly for Kidults ONLY.
can you let me know whe nyou get to sudbury to check out the sprit Halloween plz plz
