With over 100,000 people expected to buy a white poppy instead of red this year, Colonel Richard Kemp and Brian Wood, both army veterans, join Good Morning Britain to share their opinions on the symbol, calling it 'insulting'. Symon Hill of the Peace Pledge Union also joins to explain why he thinks wearing a white poppy is positive.

Smells like gammon in here.
The red poppy is NOT exclusively for the British Armed Forces, it does include the civilian victims (the blitz, Japanese internment camps etc) as well; I get one every year (except in 2020 when I couldn't find any on sale due to the coronavirus pandemic---I still made a donation online). I personally wouldn't wear a white one but I respect unreservedly anyone's right to. And while concentrating principally on the British and Commonwealth casualties we can, at the same time, spare a thought for the non-British ones as well.
You have every other day but that one. 🔔 END
Symon is being given 70% of the airtime.
I dont wear any poppy
Disgusting, only the red poppy symbolises remembrance. I do not recognise the white poppy.
What else do you find disgusting?
Your able to wear white poppy because of the people who fought and some cases died that's why we wear the red poppy to remember The white poppy serves no purpose other than self fund raising
Symon Hill is not anti war, he is anti military. Well, anti the British and American military anyway. He doesn't seem to have a problem with Russia's military.
