I have recreated all the steps, that's why the video is long, you can skip the unwanted part
This solution will work in Adobe PR, Pl, Me, PS, and AU

okay so the green line is the reason why its slow. make sure the green thing took up the whole screen then play
Is there anyway to force the green line to start loading? right now I have to wait like 30 seconds before it starts to load the preview, is there a way to like press a hot key or something to start the process of loading the green line on command?
I have a similar problem where my After Effects 2022 (mac) only playbacks 4 frames repeatedly, as if my "work area" is those only 4 frames. This happens everywhere in the comp when I press space to playback the comp, it just renders the first 4 frames and does that forever.
I already cleared my cache and memory and restarted my Mac numerous times and nothing fixes it. Do you know a fix?
Have you tried to maximize the memory size for after effect application??
did you fix it ? what did you do?

@@enchantedsmoke or also completely close after effects by doing alt+esc and force quiting after effects

Sir I have another problem. I opened After Effects and made a new composition. But I can't drag any clips from the composition. Like I can't drag to cut the duration of the clip. And also I can't move the time cursor. Or adjust the work area. It's showing the green line fully over the composition. Can u please fix this problem pls I beg u sir. 😭

Sir, I have a question about rendering. I have purchased AfterCodecs for my PC. I face problems when I render my composition/video and share anybody on my mobile phone. It shows only a thumbnail rather than a preview. Could you please share the solution or render settings of After codecs with me?
I will check and will get back if I find something.
if this doesn’t work for someone, maybe changing the range on preview can help
i tried changing to work area, work extended area by current time, entire duration, or play around current time (from range option) it still don't work :((

Hey, I have something for you to help. The green line on my after effect program just suddenly disappear and I couldn't see the blue line either.
It cause a lot of crash for me which is a problem that bothers my a lot. If you can figure out why then please tell me how to fix it? I would really appreciate it!

Could you please try to press Shift + F12 or workspace. Go to Window > Workspace > Standard.

Have you found any solution for that issue? My After effects here just deletes the blue line without even changing anything in the comp...That things mostly happens when I preview a large portion of the blue line

Your suggestion didn't work for me, so I will keep researching. BTW: your video is far too long. You could have made your point in 1/5th the time. I recommend you get to the point sooner. When content creators search for help such as this, we don't have a lot of time to spare.

@@YoTechGuru Thank you for the quick response. I did not migrate my previous settings when AE did an update. I went back and tuned my preferences so that the app is again optimized. For now ... the issue seems resolved.

How do you get more ram for it, is that my total ram for my pc or just the ram for the program.
In my case the sufficient amount of ram was not assigned to this application. So I adjusted RAM with the application from my total 12 gb memory.
No vertual memory is there

Hey! I have an issue that I never had before but when I play my video the picture and sound slows down and speeds up again and again (despite the green bar being fully loaded) and in the "info" window on the side it tells me that it doesn't read in real time
I can only fix it by changing the "ignore" tab (in the preview window) from 0 to 1 or more, then theres no more realtime playback issues but it plays the video like Im editing in 10fps. I'm working on a new macbook pro (one month old) M2 2022 24G RAM 1T storage, I'm using After Effects 2020.

I am currently on after effects, the preview of my clip is horrible and the audio randomly skips around with the preview fine. It doesnt fix itself even when i replace the clip or interpret the footage. Please help, this is driving me crazy I have found 0 solutions

for some reason ae takes enormous amount of RAM so it easily uses 22GB RAM (the limit of my 32GB) on barely empty projects... I don't want to increase the limit since I feel like there's no need to even use 22GB so I guess there's nothing else to do right? if so I'd be really thankful 😄

@@1zenex I downloaded a different version as well... unfortunately didn't find anything that would solve the problem. Why does Adobe say that recommended amount of RAM is 16GB when it's apparently not enough smh
