Every time they were just saying "screw it, it's around here" and then could have just looked for defining characteristics in the picture! That last place was RIGHT beside a 4 way intersection in the road... and they drop the pin nowhere near any. It's not always that obvious, but that one was VERY clear.
For anyone who knows the lore, the ruins are a dead giveaway. Teldrassil has only been around since post Warcraft 3, or in other words not too long before day 1 WoW on the timeline, so it isn't old enough to be covered in ruins. Had Lewis known this, he'd be right with Simon about it being somewhere on the mainland.

I got into Yogscast in 2011 when Minecraft beta was released. I was 23 at the time and absolutely loved the Lewis and Simon Minecraft videos. At 34, I'm so happy and nostalgic to see them together and talking games (big WoW player) again. :)
The Hillsbrad Foothills mine is a part of the "Battle of Hillsbrad" Horde quest line (and "Dangerous!") from Tarren Mill. I hate that I know that and that I recognised all the locations, even the WoD one.
90 completed with 95% accuracy. There's some really obscure ones you would never go to normally. Like The Isle of dread in feralas, the Dwarven farm beyond the mountains east of arathi highlands, Hyjal Crater, Darkwhisper Gorge in Winterspring, Deadwind pass. So ofc what did me in was some horde questgiver in Stonetalon peak.

YOGSCAST world of warcraft... my childhood returned. True story, I first started playing WoW on the Khaz Modan server because Simon would say "Honeydew of Khaz Modan" or something like that, so I thought that was the server they played on. Totally wrong, of course, but true and real.

I came down to comments to yell at Lewis for talking Simon into choosing the wrong side of the Bone Wastes, but seeing Simon pick a spot *just* outside the circle in Shattrath Lower City, and then both improve significantly afterwards improved my mood again.
I played this yesterday, and the sad thing is, the thing that fucked me over was I ended up with locations you really couldn't get to in Clasic, like Mount Hyjal and this dwarf farm / village to the far east of the Hinterlands
There is another one which is very similar to actual geoguessr, it scores you based on distance and there is even multiplayer!! You should definitely try it out and see who does best, maybe even invite other yogs!!
There is different version of WoW Geoguesser that works like normal Geoguesser that gives you a score based on distance. Though it does not have a map for Classic
