This is just what I needed! My Iron has just under 14K and the Rear brake lever wiggle is getting fixed today! Thanks again brother🖖🏻
No problem, Aaron! I had planned on just fixing it without shooting a video. Then I thought if I have this issue, other riders might. I'm glad I did now!

thank you ,this video helped me out on my iron 1200 ,that linkage bolt was a bit tricky to tighten.👍
Thanks for another cool vid. Fairly new to your channel 2 months in, really looking forward to your trip later this month down Route 66, have a safe trip keep the vids coming.
Thank you, brother! I appreciate you being a part of this growing community. The trip should be a fun one with tons more great videos coming your way!
If you loosen that 14M nut to lose that’s on the rear brake could that effect it? I’m not getting my brakes to fully engage unless I press down extremely hard and lock them up.
Not sure if you keep tabs on this video's comment section, but i have a problem where my brake pedal makes contact with my exhaust when being compressed, and because of it I'm getting very limited rear brake power. Is there a way to adjust the pedal upward? I have the Roadster but it appears to have the exact same brake setup.
That was my issue too and what I did in this video solved it. If the issue you're having is different, snap a few pics and send the to me to greategretmoto@gmail.com I'll take a look and see if I can help out.
@@GreatEgret absolutely, thanks!
Actually, send it to greategretmoto@gmail.com. I'm making some changes to my channel and email is one of them.
Did your breaks ever get tight from working on the brake rod I’m having issues with mine since I had to take it off since I put passenger pegs
Very informative. My 2017 has the same issue but not as bad yet. Looks like hurricane Florence is gonna stall out over us so I'm gonna address that n a couple of small issues while it's raining. Thanks for info
I hope you and everyone you love stays safe during the hurricane, my friend!
Thanks again for your videos...awesome channel and content!!
Thanks, Vito! I work really hard on this content, so that means a lot to me.
My rear brake pedal/linkage is loose like this, also noticing a rattle when riding mostly when leaning bike, think this could be the cause of the rattle?
I can’t know for sure without looking at it myself, but I’m near confident that’s the cause. Disassemble the linkage like I did in this video and reassemble it. The worst that could happen is you’ll see for yourself how this linkage works. Hit me up here, on instagram, or Facebook if you have any questions.
I haave only 3000 on my 2014 883 right now. I was wondering how I adjust should the time come and now I know. cool. thanks man.
I considered not shooting a video on this one. I'm glad I did, man!
What happened to Sportster iron between 2009 .? My bike has so many different parts than other irons . My brake system doesn’t look anything like that one . Many parts from newer bikes are completely incompatible with 2009’s
😡
A little behind on watching, but awesome video Joe!👍👍
I've been so busy with work and preparing for the trip that I haven't been able to watch as many UA-cam videos that I'd like. Just a matter of days before I leave!
I have 2018 iron 883 and that pin and retaining clip I need to buy. Do you know where I can purchase it ? I still have the pin but the clip came off and I lost it . Thanks
You need p/n 12600080. It's number 10 on the diagram here: partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies/showmodel.asp?Type=13&make=hdmc&a=1245&b=21&c=0&d=2018%20XL883N%20IRON%20883%20(LE)%20BRAKE%20-%20REAR%20BRAKE%20CYLINDER%20W/%20PEDAL.
Ronnie's is where I get most of the parts I lose too 😬. Good luck!
@@GreatEgret thank you so much ur great
Hi mate, what s those black pegs you 've got? Really nice!
Those are the Kuryakyn Heavy Industry Switchblades. I actually sold them and I regret it. I'm going to buy the non-switchblade version soon. Here is a link to them on Amazon: amzn.to/2zvZmTj
I need to figure out how to adjust the brake pedal down more.. On my 2017 Iron 883.
Unfortunately this is one of the failings of the H-D engineers. The stock rod is not adjustable. There are aftermarket options, but they are not cheap.
@@GreatEgret I found one! DK customs makes the full adjustable kit for $39!
That's WAY less expensive than I thought! Let me know how it works out for you.
@@GreatEgret right? I thought I'd be spending $100-$200 for a new setup. But $39 is worth every penny, already ordered!
Well done !
Thanks, man!
So there is no real adjustment to the break rod ?
I need to bring my break pedal up maybe 1/4 .
Unfortunately, no. One of H-Ds great engineering fails.
I don’t have that play in my 2020 iron 883. But it seems like I have to push further down now after a season for the brakes grab. ? Any idea thanks
How many miles on your Iron? Check. your pads and check if those bolts I show in this video are torque to spec. If not, tighten them up.
Also check your brake fluid.
@@GreatEgret I have around 500 miles on her.
As pads wear down, you’ll notice that you’ll have to push down further, but 500 miles is not a lot. Your brake fluid should still be good, but check the level and check for any leaks. Above all, tighten those bolts up.

Great video thx!
No problem, brother!

is your plaid jacket the street and steel mission?
It's the Scorpion Covert Moto Flannel. I've had it for more than a year. I keep wearing it so I must like it. 😁 I think I'll do a review of it soon.
oh, no i've tried that one before but i can't wear it because all that kevlar is super duper itchy on my skin, that's why i'm in the market for the street and steel mission.
