Mark Richt is one of the classiest human beings on earth. I was a night manager at a Subway sandwich shop 20 years ago, on Capital Circle NE in Tallahassee, and Coach Richt and his family would come through the drive through once every week or so. He was always such a nice guy, and was always willing to make small talk. I’ve always been happy for his success, and what great words he has for Coach Bowden here. Mark Richt is as good a demonstration of the effect Coach Bowden had on people, as any player that went to the NFL
Coach Richt coached at FSU, Miami, and Georgia, and as a Gator fan, that was a problem. As a Christian, nothing but respect for you Coach. Thank you for the testimony.
God Bless you, Coach Bowden. Your legacy at FSU is more than football. It's your spirit and faith, and it will live on forever. You're the best, dadgum it!!
I met Coach Bowden approximately 23 years ago. I want you all to know, that he stood there and talked to me, just like I was his next door neighbor. He was truly a wonderful man. R.I.P. coach!!
You would be hard pressed to find a better man than either of them two. That’s two great men right there. Mark Richt and Bobby Bowdon are top shelf. And anyone who ever knew either of them is better off for it. God bless both of you and thanks for all you’ve done to make this world a better place 🙏
I know assistants move on and take head coaching jobs but a part of me always thought coach Richt would take over once Bobby stepped down. People talk about coaching trees and what not, but there aren't many that compare to Bobby's. RIP Coach Bowden. Great coach. Better human being
Bobby was a inspitlration. A exemplary person. A Christian man. Who,loved people. A great coach on,and off the field,, a man of honer. If we only could be as good as bobby we would do well in life. Jesus got a good man up,there. We love ya coach prayers are with the Bowden family,, thanks for those words. God bless,,,
Coach Bowden and CMR, two men that put their faith to work for years. Helped hundreds of players be better men. We love you and are praying for you Coach Richt.
Bobby Bowden impressed me as a coach, but he impressed me more as a good man who truly cared about others. He is a role model for coaches of all kinds. It hurts me that he's gone, but I'm happy for him because there is no doubt he's in Heaven. God bless Bobby Bowden! FSU Grad '77
Wow! What a powerful tribute and testimony about what makes a man a great coach. Get those under you, whether players, other coaches, or your family, to realize what is truly important in life (and it ain't a football game...).
I lived in Athens when he coached. Every Sunday morning marching his team to church Prince Avenue Baptist. No matter win or loose whatever happened the day before. He was friendly kind and humble.
Rest in peace Mr. Bowden. It was an honor to meet you in 1997 and get your autograph on a helmet. Its a memory ill never forget. You are and were an inspiration to so many. And touched people lives without ever knowing them personally. Lets go NOLES this season is for Bobby. Make him proud men. Best wishes and condolences to Mrs.Ann Bowden.
I always liked Coach Richt unfortunately a nasty business of winning at all cost type game lik college football didn’t way to stand on your beliefs as a Christian man for this I will always admire u that testimony made me break down I too need Jesus coach!!🙏🏻
I graduated FSU in 71' and remember FSU before Bobby Bowden : It was pitiful . When Bowden showed up , he put the University on the map , which helped the rest of the University immensely , recruiting , funding , prestige , not to mention winning . Coach Bowden was hands down the GREATEST coach of all time . His play calling was brilliant , no one even close . Coach Bowden won the Big One : the respect of everyone , including no doubt St. Peter . R .I.P. Coach Bowden .
Mark Richt was the QB Coach in the 80's and early 90's, then Offensive Coordinator from 1994-2000, later Georgia Bulldogs his First Coaching Experience from 2001 through 2015.
