Great story coach. It's raining here in Morgantown so tears from heaven I guess. We are all proud of Bobby and Jimbo Fisher and Yourself for being the awesome products from our little state to the sport of college football everywhere. My heart goes out to you. We truly do take care of our own and I figure it's just the way that we were all raised. He really was the most modest and most generous man that the lord could offer us making it quite a sad day! My grandfather said that back then he shoved everything he owned packed "shit tight" into his old station wagon and took himself and Anne straight there! Lol. My dad was on the wrestling team with his son Terry at Morgantown High School. I even saw Terry's signature in my dad's old yearbook. Dad is proud of that signature too. Bobby was loved here and we knew that if he took the chance at Florida State... That he would be loved there too. He was a great man and all of his children too. Just wish I could have met him... John the college football world has truly lost a giant. I loved Coach Bowden. As a coach he was as good as any to ever walk the sidelines. But as a man he was one of the very best. Roll Tide and Go Noles!

Coach Bowden one of the best ever and a son of the state of Alabama.
One amazing fact I learned today is He had FSU finish in the top 5 for 14 years in a row! That is an unbelievable feat imo. I know he only had the 2 national titles (still good), but I dont know if anyone will ever do that again. I know we are in a natty or bust culture, but I think that feat should put him in a class of his own in terms of consistency. What a legend.

@Jeremy Marsh from 1983 to till 2002 almost every year a team from the state of Florida was in the National Championship. 1984&85 ,1988,1990, 1997 were the only absences.
Coach Bowden was the last old school college football coach. He cared about coaching and winning games. But he cared more about getting these kids to believe in themselves to make something of themselves. Not to much about winning games or making it to the NFL BUT about growing up and being a man outside the football field. RIP Bobby Bowden =(

Was blessed to have had the opportunity to speak one on one with Coach Bowden back in the late 90s as I’d just finished my career in the Navy and moved to Tallahassee. Despite who he was and what he did, he was kind enough to allow me to steer our conversation from the Noles to my passion: the Crimson Tide. I figured he’d need to run along quickly, but he chatted with me like we were old buddies ! Such a gracious and kind hearted man, and my thoughts immediately went to his family, friends, and the fans of his old team when I heard the tragic news. Coach Bowden touched many lives during his career and his life, and lives on in our hearts as a result. You’ll be sorely missed Coach ! Rest In Peace…

The world lost the goat today. 14 Straight years in the top four. 32 Straight winning seasons. His only losing season being his first. Winningest head coach in college football history. Literally the best to ever do it.
But he did it with morales. He did it with respect. Bowden’s only hiccup being that some of his players cheated in a online music course. He taught a lot of young men what it was to be great men. He showed them god. He showed them love. He showed them discipline.
He was and is a pillar as well as a extraordinary role model for all men.
Rest now Coach Bowden.
Great man and a great coach. Truly is one of the goats but let's stop short of calling him the literal best to ever do it. Cause that just isn't true lol. Nonetheless, he will forever go down as one of the greatest.

As an LSU alum and fan I wish ed orgeron was more like nick saban and bobby bowden.
I met Bobby the Day after the 1st wide right. Which wasn't the greatest day while attending FSU, but Bobby really did make me feel like we had known each other for a long time, we talked about my hometown (Apopka) and he rattled of Names of Football players he liked, several who played at FSU, and things he liked about the town. Then he asked about how I liked going to school at FSU.. about a year later I bumped into him and he called me by my name and asked how everything was and how I was doing at FSU. To this day, i dont understand how he remembered my name.. He really was genuine and am always proud to be a 1993 alumni. Bobby built FSU and Nick resurrected Bama. and both accomplished what everyone thought was impossible.

Bobby Bowden didn’t fear going to any stadium. Original Road Warrior! Turf Cemetery! I grew up a Nole following my Dad’s team. I ended up a 🐊 engineer. Much respect! Greatest rivalry of the 1990s.

Everyone who met Bobby Bowden loved him. Even people he never met were inspired by him and how he lived his life. I'm an FSU alum so, for me, I've heard literally hundreds of Bobby Bowden stories and all of them shed light on how amazing Bobby was.

When Bobby Bowden left W.Va. Mountaineers lost a irreplaceable coach. Always good competitive season. Sad loss indeed.
Never forget the kindness Bowden showed Jack Lyengal and the Marshall staff after the plane crash. The Mountaineers wore a green cross on their headgears the year following. Bowden Allred them to see film of WVUs version of the veer. A very classy individual

Bobby built Florida State into a national Powerhouse by going anywhere and playing anybody and winning. Coach Bowden was one of the best to ever walk the sideline and he will truly be missed.
Had no idea that Saban was a GA at Kent State under Don James, aka The Dawg Father.
That place spawned some big time coaches....Saban, James, Holtz etc.
