    If they are supporting their family with no government support, and the children are well taken care of and happy, then no one has the right to criticize them. I applaud them! More power to them! God bless them!

      It’s no one else’s business on how many children a couple has, especially if they are supporting and looking after them themselves.

      They will be getting support though, since the mother would be classed as unemployed, plus benefits for the kids.. however, for me, the key is that the father works and they're not trying to fleece the government for everything.

      What's wrong with government support? All of these kids will probably work and pay taxes, surely the government can help out with their upbringing.

    My parents had 11 in 13yrs and i felt very lonely growing up. I'm the youngest and my dad left to move to Australia when I was 8mths and my mum was an abusive alcoholic with a violent boyfriend.
    I don't think it matters how many children you have, it matters how you love and nurture them. I would have loved to grow up in that family compared to mine!

    These comments are so entertaining 😂 especially the negative ones! Being a member of this family is far from a negative experience. 15 years on from filming this, guess what? We’re all still alive! (I know, shocker!) funnily enough, some scenes in this were purely engineered for the viewing audience, such as cramming a million kids into a car. That’s how tv works, you see. Reply video and catch up with the Povey’s coming soon! 😀😀

      When we lived in Japan ( military family) We ( 9 siblings at that time) we’re sitting in church waiting for the service to begin and an usher handed my dad a note that said “ sir, Catholic service is at noon” the preacher thought ( since we were a new family and a large family for 1959) we were in the wrong service. My dad whispered to the usher we were not Catholic. That evening the preacher came with a bottle of wine and apologized . I am sure he never made that mistake again. But every one got a good laugh out of it.

    We come from large families as well. From 10 to 17 kids on the average. Grandmother has 123 grandkids. But a few things we learned was chores were divided out to help make a better family function, and which gave more individual time for the kids. Also we gave the birthday child a choice of a family party or a date alone with mom and dad. The birthday child always chose the private date.

    What a loving family!! And loving parents!❤ . They take great care of their kids! I've seen documentaries where there are moms with 9 kids from 7 or 8 different fathers, who cant take care of their kids. Living of the state, complaining about everything and not willing to work! I have a lot of respect for this family, most of all for the loving mom and dad!!🙏🥰❤

    Coming from a large family, i lived first hand not getting to assistance i needed. Undiagnosed adhd meant a large struggle to get through school. There was never enough time for each child. I helped to raise the younger ones, meaning i had no childhood. There is a bigger picture to all this. Prayers for all and may it all turn out well:)

    What a lovely family. The children are well-spoken, the parents are wonderful and they're self-sufficient. I am one of 5, which I thought was a big family but I would have loved to have had more siblings. I'd love to know how they're doing now.

    • @MandyJMaddison
      @MandyJMaddison 4 роки тому +3

      Why the f*ck would you care?
      Ties are ridiculous on young children. The most sensible school shirt for a young child is a polo shirt in the school colours and with the logo printed on it.
      These are the standard uniform over much of Australia.
      In the winter the younger children wear heavy track suits. - cheap to buy and easy to launder.

    Wow my mom had 7, we had charts in the hallway for bath nights and laundry. Three littlest got baths in the evenings, the rest of us got to take showers at school every day in gym class. On weekends it was spilt up in the day. The laundry was done as we each had a day of the week after school when we washed our own laundry. Beds were made etc before we ate breakfast, our table had color coded placemats with colored coded dishes. You were responsible for your own dishes and after use you washed them, dried and turned upside down on you placement. You get the idea, mom was very organized.

      That was my impression of big families. Good organisation and children highly independant and responsable from an early age. Which from my point of view is fantactic. In this family it looks like mum does more or less everything. Apparently she enjoys it and is happy, but that's a highway to burnout, resentment and possibly children growing up into adults with mother-needs-to-do-everything-in-the-household mentality. I prefer households that raise children in the spirit of teamwork - we are all responsible for the familiy's well-being and we all contribue according to our age and abilities.
