That tripod is really paying off! I like it :) And thank you for the shout out! I would never have bought a goldpan if it wasn't for one of your old videos :)
Right on bro, that’s a great cleanup. What did you end up with ? And what a trip that you mention Skovian. I met up with him today for some sniping. Great dude for sure. He will be coming back out with the fellas. It would be cool if you met up with us some time. Or vise versa
For sure man! I can tell by eyeballing it’s not worth weighing yet at least for me anything under .2 it takes along time to transfer and dry this gold to weigh o if I get more I will. My gues around .1 takes a lot to add up. Might go back tomorrow with more time and see if I can make lunch money. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment Damon and congrats on your stellar season!
When I was there in July, it was so windy on the beach that I could hardly hold on to the pan. It felt like the sand was sandblasting my skin off also. Nice clean up.
Yep gets bad especially at this beach, so muc so it’s a favorite for kite surfers and such. Matter fact I’m thinking about building a wind powered go cart with a sail lol
When you are up north of Bandon headed on 101 to Coosbay there is an area called Winchester Trails. The dirt roads go all over. If you get up there and look around you can find chunks and possible larger seams of the ancient beach deposits which is the same color red/black. Quite a bit of gold in those as well.
@@Goldhunter7769 It has been years since we used to go up there. Stuff was pretty easy to find. If I remember correctly the ancient black sands is around 100 ft. above current ocean level. It actually looks orange and is really hard/compact. Being able to go into that area helped as we found it initially just off the side of road then tracked that down to find more. I'd say any where 3-5 miles from ocean east and 100 feet elevation is potentially a place to find it. Just will take some hiking or finding other roads. If they closed Winchester Trails for logging be dandy when they open it back up with all the ripping ground they will be doing. Here is another tip about the area. If you go to Whiskey Run and head south on beach to the creek between Bandon Dunes golf Course and the Preserve par 3 course after storms deep black sand deposits can be exposed which is very rich in gold. I was told this by the same guy who put me on the ancient stuff. Be worth poking around there.
Damn I need to pan more at rhe beach... I never figure the dark sands hold much, boy wad I wrong haha found a huge layer at moolack Beach last weekend. Like 1.5ft thick
I'm going to be on Portland this weekend for 3 weeks and want to hit the beach and a few other places but have no idea where to start. Do you recommend any beaches to check out? I'm used to flower gold in illinois.

Hey thanks for the tip! I’ve been searching for those ancient deposits actually and they put a gate up on that road unless there is some way around.

Oh for certain it’s just a lot of testing to get the best results Is they key, if I can get over 5 specs per tablespoon it’s worth it
I've seen several deposits from moolack down to Yachats. Even found gold that comes out of the Yachats River in town.
I hauled 4 buckets from that location in my cart once. My back hurt for a month. Lol 7 👹
Dam! Only 2 is heavy as hell. When I set up the mega sluice way back up the beach I hauled around 14 buckets lol. Never again!
@@Goldhunter7769 I remember that mega sluice video. I thought you must be on meth hauling all that weight on that long haul to the parking lot. Lol!!!
