Hey Bara, nice vid! I remember a couple years back I was bugging you on every single video you made to play this build to the point that it got annoying... sorry about that. Regardless, great vid, I tune in to every one!
I feel like the crit ability of LBXs is quite overrated, it actually only boosts your damage by 18.6% on average. Combine that with the fact that 2/3 of an enemy's HP is in their armour, it's only a 6.2% boost over the course of a game. Even worse is that its a boost that mostly comes into play towards the end of a game, by which time the snowballing nature of MWO has most likely already come into effect.
the cooldown on dual lbx 20's is way worse than 4 lbx 10's, therefore damage per second of brawling is worse. This build gets pushed a lot (I have one, it's one of my favorite mechs). Every second counts. Plus, the range on the 10's is way better. . .
Probably not the build, more so the position. There have been times where I was in my HGR Fafnir and got maybe two shots off the entire game. Fafnir damage depends on your teams speed and the map.

Do people still actually play MWO? Baradul videos make me want to pick it up but the reviews all say that there are really bad queue times. Do you have to spend 3 hours to film your 2 matches, Baradul?
I'd argue there's still a decent community. The queue times seem to have a lot of fluctuation, but it's usually not more than a minute or two before I'm loading into a game - sometimes it can take longer (4-5m probably?), but it's certainly not been consistently that long for me. I play both solo and with a group, and I feel like when I do get longer queue times, it's generally when we're queuing as a group. I think it finds it easier to place solo players. That being said, group queuing is still usually not more than a minute or two, so when it is taking particularly long somebody will usually notice and ask "yo, is it still looking?" Your choice of mech class can affect queue times some - I personally generally queue mediums and occasionally heavies 90% of the time. You can see what % of people are queuing what class any given time, but even when I'm running a mech that's in a saturated class it's not super long, in my experience. But my opinion might be different than people who exclusively queue up with Assaults or Heavies, which are usually pretty saturated. The above commentary is for the quick play queue, specifically. There's also a mode called "Faction Play". It's not a "ranked" mode per say, but it's geared for larger-scale battle and feels more competitive to me, but doesn't use any matchmaking. You can see the number of people queued for each team at a given time, and when there's enough for a game, the match starts. This does have much longer times between games.
@@jefff6007 @Jeff F Apologies for the length -- this turned out longer than I anticipated. So, I started playing the game earlier this year, for context. The game starts you in some kind of "cadet program" or something like that. Playing nets you a pretty BIG heap of c-bills (in-game money) and skill points (for the skill tree) as well as "premium time" (just gives you a c-bill bonus at the end of matches) and MC (in game currency that's usually bought with actual cash) while this "cadet program" thing goes on. During this time, you'll be ROLLING in money. This is good, because if you're anything like me, you'll be kinda bad at the game. I don't recall the amount it'll gift you, but it's enough for at least a couple mechs. While you're new and don't have many optimized mechs and might still be "figuring out" the game, you probably won't be making a heap of c-bills per game. As you do start to figure out your playstyle, your damage/matchscore should increase and you'll make more c-bills more reliably. Tbh, even then you don't get a lot of c-bills per match, but if you play semi-regularly, after a while you'll find yourself accruing them faster than you'll be using them for your mechs (because you'll have loadouts you're happy with). But until you have a handful of mechs you're content with, there's a pretty good span of time where it'll feel like you need to take care in how to spend your money. That being said, I'm well past the "teething" period, and now I feel like the grind feels perfectly fine - not "grindy" imo. I feel pretty unencumbered by the economy - but while I only had mechs (that frankly weren't very good), it felt like I had to take some consideration into how I wanted to invest my c-bills. What has been REALLY helping is that they've been doing monthly mech giveaway events. It takes playtime - not a massive amount, but probably at least a few days of hopping on - but there's regularly been a free mech given at the end of the event, and during the event, bonus c-bills, MC, and premium time can be awarded. Speaking of which, right now is probably the *best* possible time to dip your toes in because of just such an event -- during, like, between dec 26 and jan 3rd, anyone who plays a match will be gifted two assaults.
Hearing "Hello 'Mechwarriors" has by now achieved the same energy as having your grandma give you a hug. I like.
Absolutely. It got that extra little boost of the tonin
As you have 2 slots free, putting C.A.S.E. in the arms is probably worthwhile. Looks a fun build though!
Was going to mention that. Good call.
Baradul. Single-handedly keeping mwo online alive.

Even on the lost game you got more match score and damage done than anyone on the winning team! 😃

One button builds. My favorite.
Yes, I need my daily dose of MWO.
IS assaults are strongest with a lot big canons or masses of LRM racks with artemis so those line of sigh shots are devastating
Perfect for those components in Events!
This was my first mech, this build is still my fav. If you havnt tried it I would recommend.
dual heavy gauss is also really fun if you can figure out how you control it, very risky though. "Easy" head hunter achievement with that build.
I have a similar build for the Kodiak... the exact variant escapes me but its quad LB 10's and decent mobility make it fun in trench warfare/CQC
Nice to see the MWO content. I have played quad LBX10 but never really loved it. Try twin LBX20 and twin SnubPPC.
On what mech? Sounds like a fun loadout.
I run 4 snub PPCs and it's super fun
Well? Which mech, harkin?

Awesome video as always Bara! Really look forward to these :)

Why 4x LBX 10s vs 2x LBX20s... couldnt you fit a bigger engine then?

Two FNS-5's on one side. One with 1107 dmg, and another 128. Interesting what build that dude got.
