I was a little disappointed with this as I expected more for my Monday - the items I found fault with were small but a little annoying - Regarding FMS - as you say " No Coincidences here" - they are among the best manufactures , but this one was just not 100% - LOL - I expect that from Dynam but NOT FMS.. ha ha...
Interesting what your saying about scale. The wing and the fuselage are good examples of this, scale and volume are not linear. You scale something up by x2 you increase the volume x4. The inside of the fuselage and wing thickness are the most obvious areas you notice the difference. I know what you mean about the quality. It may be a completely functional model but every small niggle, defect and odd bit just takes the shine off it. Thats why Dynam give you the decals so you can f**k it up yourself and they cant be blamed!
I think my thought process was flawed - for some strange reason i was thinking that bigger would be better, (quality wise) - also I took time to take a good look over it all and its not really as bad as I might have made out at the time , Very good point regarding Dynam - its also quite a good idea - I think I will try a heat gun on it or film iron see if that smooths it out .. might take a wing to B&Q if they still do that colour match process....
I have spoken to the Retailer and can now confirm the following ... The Foam Hinges are coated with a nylon that provides extra durability - this is the same as Lamination - so it is in fact nothing new for FMS models. The damage to the red paint on the wing can be put down to shipping wear and tear - however they have been kind enough to provide me with a small refund..
You will have no issues with the hinges on that plane! the only problem ive encountered is the usual T-28 Retract Annoyances. with are inherite to the design
Did you inform FMS about the defects in your concern on the hinges and all the dents? I’m curious if you did do that and what their response was? I just ordered the same plane in yellow version, but it hasn’t arrived yet. If it is like what you’re showing here and it maybe going back! Thank you in advance! 😒🙏
No I went back to the Retailer an spoke to them - it was going to be so much aggravation to send it back , that I accepted a part refund from them to compensate for the damage - saved me packing , wrapping and Shipping... I guess mine was a Friday manufacturing job, as other videos I have seen they did not have the problem, - regarding the Hinges the retailer tells me that they are laminated with a special covering that is NOT foam ( I thought it meant they had plastic hinges) so that we me getting a little confused. Mine is still in the Box in storage...
I think I was expecting more for my money and the reviews from RCINFORMER was very favorable - so I might have been a bit picky - but it was no doubt a Friday afternoon job, the E-Flite T28 Z costs over £650 it has a 2m wingspan - just too big and expensive for my taste (for a single Aircraft) .. So this was the next size down at 1.4m - and being FMS, I felt It had to be good - where as I could have gone for a Dynam or Durafly 1.2m T28 - but they just did not do it for me , I am sure I will get over it and it will turn out to be a great Bird...

The FMS does seem rather cheep n nasty compared to eflite horizon.... Shame they do some nice kites
