This is probably my favorite type of story. Humans aren't just mindless killing machines but empathic beings who would even defend their adversary if morally required.
We're crude and violent (and maybe a little crazy) at times, we don't always get along with others, but when the time comes we step up and do what's necessary...
"It takes the Navy three years to build a ship. It will take three hundred years to build a new tradition. The evacuation will continue" Admiral Andrew Cunnigham Crete 1941, Pretty much covers it I think. Great story, and brilliant narration
who keeps letting the onion cutting ninja's out? I swear I *JUST* locked them away and now they at it again. Wonderful story as usual Agro. For the algorithim. For the writer. For the narrator.
Marvelous story! Well crafted and excellent moral. Not very often you find a story where “rivals” become friends and allies and recognize the heroics of each participant. Very inspiring. One of the best stories ever done on this channel!
If Britain ever has a space exploration starship, they are REQUIRED to name it the "HMS Do You Have A Flag?" Captain Eddie Izzard will do the new British Empire proud.
I am not crying You are! This was a great story and you did a great job narrating it Agro. A like and share with great energy. I gotta go give that author a like on HFY.
Great story and excellent choice of character voice. In case you run across CWIS again, it’s pronounced sea-wiz. I’m currently going through the old videos and really enjoying your re-tfos.
Impressive story thou I wish someone would use the HSM Thunderchild as a name for a single ship fighting a almost impossible win. Love the Brit humour of not home for tea and medals lol, Captain was right we care more about civilans then enermies and willing to help protect them.
This is one of my top three favorite one off stories. Along with "The one who smells like flowers" and the one where the soldure who kills himself is admitted to Valhalla. I found that one years later but lost it. Anybody know where it is so I can save it again?
"You don't understand...We're not just sending you *a* dreadnought; we're sending THE dreadnaught."
CIWS pronounced "see-wiz" 'cause Navy. R2D2's angry cousin with a rage boner.

At least not "every" human..

Well that was another tear jerker. Thank you Squirrel!

For the algorithim.
For the writer.
For the narrator.
Between you and netnarrator I swear I’ve heard every Reddit story 2-3 times now lol
Edit: and I don’t even use Reddit lol
Are you happy with this? Seems like you are not happy
@@andrewerickson6690 I think they both need to collaborate and do a series because both of their voice acting is top notch
Yeah! Me too but at least the storiws are read so well!
Both are tops
Yeah but this channel has good audio quality
Damn onion cutting ninjas
Ninjas outta nowhere lol
I saw one! Onion ninjas are getting careless.
I don't often comment here but that was one excellent story. Thanks, A.S., for narrating it.
For the algorithim.
For the writer.
For the narrator.
Great story; Excellent narration! "Picard and Dathon at El-Adrel"
Another Star Trek fan!
Shaka, when the walls fell.
"Temba, his arms wide"
A true ripping yarn! Well done and thank you, over and out! UKUK
This one is very emotive
Onion Ninja got me Capt'n..not gonna make it. I'll hold 'em off for as long as I can. Go on for the Skwerl! Go On for the Algorithm!
The dreadnought, dread nothing at all.
Now thats how you do an HFY story. Very well done, thank you both, author and narrator.

Not a bad way to die doing both your duty and what is right. Thank you for this reading Agro you bring the stories to life. WITH ENERGY!!
You can care about anything once you get to know it.
I used to hate cats.
Salute to the Crew of the Dreadnought fta
well crafted and told story
thanks for both
If Britain ever has a space exploration starship, they are REQUIRED to name it the "HMS Do You Have A Flag?"
Captain Eddie Izzard will do the new British Empire proud.
Didn't they already have a Boaty McBoatface?
That seems a bit more a lowlands Scots name, to me.
It kinda reminds me of the early war world 2 there was so many heroes and Martyrs . thank you for your service. 😢❤
Dreadnought meaning - the word goes back to the late 17th century when it meant a fearless person (who dreaded naught - nothing).
The description of the enemy ships reminds me of the Shadows ships from Babylon 5
Wow! Just, wow. Thanks for posting this story.
Dang dust got in my eye
Terrible time for rain

I regret that I have but one updoot to give to the cause. Fantastic story and narration!
Damn onion ninjas ‼️
Really touching story....
Greetings, Mentlegent!
For the Rhythm that is Algo
Enemies become Allies. No Surrender!
Superb story and exquisitely narrated.
I still miss the old uniform. This one reminds of the enemies in "V" from the 1980. Squirrel are you a lizard person?... lol
Another good story from the best channel
Blood is thicker than water.
The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb

have you heard the damned onion ninjas have a union now lol.
Great story! Love the voices.
HMS Dreadnaight…
On patrol.
Beautiful story ❤
We may be rivals, different species, but, in our hearts we aren't so different. The Shadows will regret this act of aggression.
Because from the description of the aggressor xenos my mind went full Babylon 5
Just wait until the Ivanova gets here
For reference CIWS is typically pronounced SEE-wiz.
Had a serious case of onion cutting ninjas for this one. Britannia Rules the space waves. Earned the the V.C for sure.
Great story! That was a Star Trek episode with Enterprise B. At least there wasn't any plot tomfoolery with time travel. Much better.😁
Enterprise C when Tasha Yar went back with them to the battle of Narendra III resulting in an alliance perhaps.
@@robertstoneking7916 Oh yeah. Thx. It's been a while.
Bravo Sir Encore!
Most excellent story. Tnx.
And you shall dread not
As always! for the algorithm!

thank you.
Blood brother's forged together by war
Ok, which of you brought the damn onions? 🧅
Excellent.
For DA SKWERL and his Nest
For the Algorithm, for the Author(s), for the Holographic Voice!
oh ya.... bigger booms make bigger shows
I was expecting the survivors to head to the planet then escape evade and harass the enemy until rescue.
Computer Viruses that disable non-critical system?
Ah, those pranksters.
For the algorithm 👽👾🤖🌌🛰🚀🛸🌠

Humans and Reptiles vs insects? Meh, at least we have a lizardbrain in common.
Not bad at all.

For teh algorithm.

It's a little sad that you have to put the "Human Narrated" fixture on your vids now with all the AI-read garbage floating around on YT now.
i will always ask, where do these rocks come from? from star trek to starwar and B5 and beyond, rocks will fall from somewhere when ship is hit.
Must be shelving above the frame holding the rocks.😅
Some nerd's rock collection.
