Learnt something new and really helpful here! I didn't realise there were legacy packages. I just thought they moved on to the new edition and that was it. Thanks for this. I hope you are keeping well.

The legacy libraries are great! I’ve bought several of them myself.

Fully agree with the recommendation to start with the free Logos engine, and to consider legacy libraries. That’s exactly what I’ve done. I’m using 9 Basic on desktop, 10 on mobile, and have purchased some legacy libraries.

The poor cannot use logos, it is unfortunate that the prices are excessively high, I know they must earn some money but the truth is that what they charge is an abuse, it is a business with the word of God... The Software It seems to be magnificent but I will never be able to have it because of the high cost it has. Thank God for the free version of E-Sword, MySword, the magnificent MyBible, those developers thought of the good of their fellow men, of Blessing humanity with such wealth of resources, God Bless them for their goodness.

I also use the free software e-sword etc. logo is way out of my price. Thank God for second hand books as well.

Yes it is definitely pricey. I can sympathize with that.

I would take advantage of their monthly sales. Put the books you want on your wish list and check that wishlist out each month.

      Don't forget about "Olive Tree"
      Been using for 4yrs
      God has blessed me

@@paulmag5804 I have olive tree also. But I definitely prefer Logos. For me it is easier to use and there are many more resources. As far as it being really expensive, I bought one of the base packages 20 to 25 years ago and have just added resources through the years.
I took advantage of sales to build my library.
Plus when you think about it, Logos 10 collectors edition is about equal to the cost of a year of tuition at a top ranked seminary. I think it’s an excellent investment on a life of ministry.
There are payment plans if you can’t pay for the package lump sum.

If I buy an older legacy edition then upgrade down the road will the books carry over?

  • @digital0day

Summary: legacy is cheaper; books are cheaper than features; start with small sets and work your way up; check if the book(s) you want are in a set before buying; don’t forget there are monthly free resources; pick up the phone and talk to sales reps, especially at the end of the year - they can make deals when you want to make a bigger purchase that you won’t get on the website

If the whole purpose is to master the Greek language so you don't need tools should I even purchase Logos? Won't it eventual collect dust at a $1,000+?

    • @BiblicalStudiesandReviews
      @BiblicalStudiesandReviews  Рік тому

It certainly wouldn’t be everybody. There are lots of recourses that wouldn’t be directly related to Greek syntax. But even after learning Greek well, you would still want to reference good lexicons etc.
