Awesome. Nostalgia overload. Brilliant layout. Love that bar, the jukebox, pacman fever. Probably my favorite feature is that Pepsi machine in the hallway! Cool arcade.
WOW! This is AMAZING! You know when I was younger I thought I was so weird for being obsessed with arcade machines + claw games like I was the only person in the world. I have my own house now living by myself, and while I have about 7 or 8 different machines scattered throughout my house, it's NOTHING compared to this! Amazing! Makes me want to fill my house up with even more stuff now!!! :D
Matt3756 There's plenty of us out there. :) You'll fill the house (double car garagecade in my case 6 years ago), then eventually move to a bigger one. That's what happened to me.
WOW that's fantastic. Brilliant job. That's must have have taken some commitment to put that together. I wouldn't want to leave if I was there. Being in my early 40's now I remember a lot of those, and although I'm biased, I think older games are still the best! Well done mate
Beautiful set-up my man, SUPER CLEAN! I really appreciate 70's, 80's, and 90's culture and the games/machines/colors all in this video epitomize those decades. Realizing that these will never be made again, it is really cool to see this much in one basement! This is truly a retro hidden gem. I was born in 1992 and I wish I would've been around a little earlier!
This is heaven.. I can almost picture a lot of kids running around those machines.. The song fits perfectly too.. Awesome trip to the past.. Congrats on your beautiful playground sir!
INSANE! Thanks to emulators and retro enthusiasts, the 1980s will never die! I've heard it said more than once, that the trick to nostalgia, is that we remember the good and focus on it. Also, as kids of the 1980s, we can identify with this technology being state of the art during those years. Being in one of these rooms (or just with me viewing this just now), can reignite the feelings and emotion associated with stuff of that time period. I have a decades-old cabinet record player that no longer works. I'd like to pay some enthusiast to gut out the antiquated parts (keep the original knobs, but just gut them out internally), and then use new parts, so that it can play vinyl albums again!
Thank you for the comments. It might be worth looking into trying to fix your record player. I bought my 1978 jukebox (plays 45's) broken without knowing anything on how to fix them and the mechanics of them. I managed to research forums and eventually fixed every problem on it an even did a few upgrades. Just something to keep in mind.
***** Whoa! You've got more patience than I do!! I admit that I know nothing about old vinyl players, but to avoid ruining old vinyls with a slip of the hand on the newly restored needle and turntable, how difficult would it be to find someone capable of having a laser read the grooves of the vinyl and play it like that?? I'd HATE to have the damned thing resurrected, only to slip one millimeter when handling an album, and ruin the damned vinyl... (?????)
I havent played some of these games since i was at school....this is such an amazing setup, even just the feel of being there, brings back a ton of memories from my childhood. Good job on the setup and all the effort put in over the years
This is amazing...instant smile. In my city of Ottawa, there is a retro arcade called house of targ. Vintage games, pinball, perogies and live bands. Now this place opened up maybe six months ago and it's packed every night. I figure people need places like this again....love this...add a jam space and it'd be perfect. Cheers
Total flashback. I felt like I was walking thru the arcade at my local mall circa 1988. C`mon man too cool. New order blue Monday.lol. You put a huge smile on my face.
This guy's great. Emailed me back very generously and answered all of my questions. Can't wait to start collecting cabinets and creating my own Arcade.
First awesome, Man Cave meets arcade in a era that can;t be meet anymore. Also amazing skill's fixing those arcade machines, just takes myself back seeing those all lit up in the vid on the tube. When i was younger you would dream about those pixel graphics and wonder where they would take you playing the game and think about the movie tron you had seen in the 80's, you wondered if they were all running around and giving them the last chance for there bytes. Thanks for the memories, I take my hat of to you Sir, I live in Brisvegas Australia but wish you were my neighbour.. Awesome :) :) :) :)
Great arcade! I want to do my basement like that. A bar, foosball, air hockey, and a jukebox. But instead of all the video games, I'll just use my one Mame arcade game with 7,000 games on it. More room for a dance floor! ♡
Holy smokes. Just... wow. Very seldom do I envy folks their "stuff", but your Vintage Vault is simply staggering. How can one basement hold so much AWESOME? Well done. Kudos for all the work you've put into the games + the bar. I have begun repair / build work on my own first machines. Now I just need to find a massive basement too...
a great collection and a fantastic game room! i wish i had the time, $$$ and room for such a place, lol. if i did, i'd try to track down some of my personal favourites as a kid, throw in some pretty old arcade games like 'haunted house', and pay homage to the grand-daddies like 'asteroids' and 'space invaders.'
I love how you have your classic Nintendo games lined up, then your Bally/Midway, then Williams, the Atari!!! Wish you had more room cause there's still some classics missing. Defender, Stargate & Bubbles from Williams. Dig Dug, Kangaroo, Battlezone, Centapede & Astroids Deluxe from Atari. Too many to mention from Bally/Midway (PAC Man Jr., Space Invaders, Gorf, Wizard Of Wor, Satan's Hollow, Blue Print, etc.). Than just various other classics like Frogger, Crazy Climber, Jungle Hunt, Congo Bongo, Elevator Action, etc. Incredible job on what you got though!!!! Nintendo almost looks compete!! Might be one or two obscure ones missing from that. It is a dream arcade though!! I know I could spend hours in there!!
Looks like about 37 games. Lets say 2K each on average? 1K for the lower end, and maybe 3K each for the racing games with seats? 37 x 2K = $74,000. Add lets say $6000 for the tables, soda and a few extras. $80,000 for all the games.
wow thats so AMAZING! i own one multi arcade that has a lot of those games on it. i grew up in the 80s and lived at arcades just like yours. so fun. but i must say, there is something that feels a little Haunting about your arcade too. the games almost seem alive some how. i remember some of those games from 30 years ago. I'm telling you there alive. be careful.
My collection would include Pac-man,Mrs.Pac-man. DK, Mario bro's, Mortal Kombat 2, Terminator 2 arcade, NFL Blitz, Area 51, a bar area, air hokey table, Black hole pinball & revenge from mars & a hot tub... Awesome work man, very good to see people's dreams come to reality!
I would have all MK arcade releases, Street Fighter 2, Killer Instinct, X-Men, Die Hard, Samurai Showdown, Darkstalkers....I could go on. Fantasies are nice!
I never knew fix it Felix was actually available I knew they had at Disneyland but know I want one! Awesome arcade you are living the dream and I hope you have awesome house insurance. May I suggest adding a sprinkler system in case of fire it would be a tragedy for all that to get lost
All of them were a mixture of all outlets. Local sellers, auctions and ebay in Missouri. Ebay was a warehouse in Kansas City for Roadburners and Emergency Call Ambulance, local sellers for Sega Rally Deluxe, both Rush the Rocks and both Vapor TRX's, St. Louis arcade auction for Hydrothunder. Depends on what you think a reasonable price it. These still earn money on location so people can ask more money than your standard standup vintage game.
Do you remember the sitcom "silver spoon"? He grew up...THAT's an arcade room! Not a video games collection room. I prefer that kind of stuff. Great job dude! Enjoy!
Absolutely amazing job! This is just fantastic. You have a talent for making that room a classy arcade that fits all genres. I have a large basement setup like a club. I play in bands. I am thinking of adding a few arcade machines. You have inspired me good sir!!!
Just like I said in the video I saw before viewing this one, this is the Man Cave of my dreams. In fact, when I get enough money, and a house with a basement, I'm going to make the contents of this video reality for me. This is one very wickedly kick-ass Man Cave. I can't wait to have one for myself.
Awesome game room man it's always been a dream to have one both arcade and consoles with a big screen tv and I want a theater room too. That's why I wanna go to college and get a very high paying job like owning a business. If you don't mind me asking. How long did it take to make, how much was it?
The collection has probably taken about 13 years which started in a garagecade. The dream was to buy a bigger house with a blank basement, and build my dream arcade. That happened 8 years ago. At the time the collection was about half of what it is now. I don't talk about cost or current value of the collection. However, most games I bought broken and cheap and fixed them. This knowledge is invaluable as these are 30 to 35 years old, and are prone to breaking. That means knowledge of working on them is key, much like if a person was into classic cars. Building the arcade (without the games) was something I did from scratch without contractors, but I did have some family help here and there. More of the adventures of buying, fixing and road trips through the years can be found on my site at www.thebasementarcade.com/
this is the dream right here! i have 5 cabs at the moment... 4 in the living room and one in my bedroom (havent had the basement finished yet). how long did it take to acquire a collection this big???
It has been about 10 years of collecting. That's buying, fixing, selling, swapping out games to a more tailored collection. It was mostly a garagecade initially, as many collectors have started off with. About 6 years ago I bought a new house, and finished the basement custom tailored to the arcade. It's been a process. By no means a wad of cash wasn't thrown at the final product as a lot of people might assume. So for yourself, keep with what you are doing and things will keep progressing as long as your heart is in it.
***** thats awesome! i just bought my first house last october and finally had my own place with space to start really getting into this hobby. i had already owned a street fighter 3 cab for a couple of years that i kept hidden in a storage area at my work. i knew that this hobby was really for me when the novelty of having a real arcade machine didnt wear off after playing on that street fighter cab everyday for 3 years... it never gets old for me. now i have a street fighter 2 hyper fighting, tekken 3, tekken tag tournament, and gauntlet dark legacy. i have a soul calibur pcb im going to be putting into the tekken 3 cab this week and converting all the art work over. hopefully some day down the road i can have a set up thats even half as amazing as what you have.
AMAZING. Im jealous. I have the same barstools that you have at your bar lol. They scratch super easy from belts and wallets or back pocket buttons. and OMG you have Baby Pac-Man?! I rarely see that. My local arcade had it but idiots kept breaking it so they put it in storage. Such a cool game.
Amazing! WHy are all the arcade games silent?? Only thing missing is the sound of all the arcade games. You must have a huge electricity bill when you run this room.
I like to listen to music, hang out with friends, etc. The arcade is the ambience. When its populated with people playing, thats the real music of the arcade. See my other video "What a bus load of kids looks like in a basement arcade". That is an arcade getting played.
You got it the right stuff They have 80's and 90's Arcade Machine was there And i saw on Sofa was there And the Food Snack There I hope you guys i like this Basement in the Aracde there so munch fun i can played Pac Man , Ms Pac Man , Dig Dug and Galaga Uuuummm what there is no 50's and 60's there are not here in this Arcade before
***** Thank you! Just remember, there's no right or wrong. They came in all sizes BITD from a corner area of a restaurant to small buildings to full size establishments. I actually started out with a garagecade, until my collection grew and I also outgrew my old house.
I'm so jealous of the Simpsons arcade machine! In the 90's that was the go to game! I didn't even know the NES Super Mario Bros. had an arcade machine. Also the Punch Out machine is pretty cool. You should get a fighting game for your collection. Overall very impressive.
The Mario Bros arcade came before the NES version. It's slightly harder and missing the warps so no cheating :) After all, they were after your quarters.
They are original arcade marquees, from games that are long gone, water damage, rot, etc. There is a mix of plexiglass, glass and translite. 3 or 4 tiny carpet tacks with small nail heads or similar hold them in place along their edges.
I shall move in immediately!
Awesome. Nostalgia overload. Brilliant layout. Love that bar, the jukebox, pacman fever. Probably my favorite feature is that Pepsi machine in the hallway! Cool arcade.
Thanks for the comment!

+Matt3756 You're not alone man I always felt the same way.
I subbed to you
I have 2 pinball machines and 3 cabinets I barely can move around in my house my girlfriend is so pissed off about it.
My favorite personal arcade
Outstanding arcade, sir.
You sir are living the dream
WOW that's fantastic. Brilliant job. That's must have have taken some commitment to put that together. I wouldn't want to leave if I was there. Being in my early 40's now I remember a lot of those, and although I'm biased, I think older games are still the best! Well done mate
Thank you. I'm biased too, but then again being in our early 40's that was our playground now, wasn't it.

R.I.P your electric bill..
ikr
thinking same thing
If you can buy that much stuff, you can pay for the bill.
True
Of course if you can afford a Ferrari you can pay for the ticket :-)
This makes me happy just from looking at it.
This is heaven.. I can almost picture a lot of kids running around those machines.. The song fits perfectly too.. Awesome trip to the past.. Congrats on your beautiful playground sir!
Carlos Alberto Thank you. Also, you don't have to picture it, just view this vid here :)ua-cam.com/video/2Rpwiyi0vyU/v-deo.html

Inspiration at its finest! Still one of the best home arcades I've ever seen.

You know family loves coming here for holidays
Needs street fighter, pinball, some good scotch & some good yayo to be complete.

Yeah beautiful game room. But you need some fighting games. Street fighter , marvel vs Capcom 2... Something
Yeah good game room but you need some racing games super Bikes NickToons nitro something
Total flashback. I felt like I was walking thru the arcade at my local mall circa 1988. C`mon man too cool. New order blue Monday.lol. You put a huge smile on my face.
TY. My son is having his birthday party in the arcade this very moment.

I have a home arcade....and this STILL impressed the hell outta me. Well done, sir. Bravo!
Your Arcade is awesome.

Oh well thanks bro. Appreciate that. I'm a longshot from a setup like the vintage vault but hey..it gives me a goal!
Beautiful and amazing home arcade, fantastic work. I'm sure parties are a blast down there!
This would be like my personal natural habitat... this is a fucking paradise.
Thanks for share this beautiful video.
one of the best collections I've seen in a while

Amazing arcade and that jukebox made a big difference!
This is definitely a great flashback for me !
The best layout of arcade I have seen, love the sega rally big screen standout for me , really nice spot that you could charge a bit for entry

Wish this guy was my friend. This is My absolute dream! Absolutely amazing!
Sweet setup... and all original cabinets restored... beautiful. I bet those dual racers cost a pretty penny
this is better than some of the local arcades in my area
Great stuff Jeremy - can't wait until the new tour update.
a great collection and a fantastic game room!
i wish i had the time, $$$ and room for such a place, lol. if i did, i'd try to track down some of my personal favourites as a kid, throw in some pretty old arcade games like 'haunted house', and pay homage to the grand-daddies like 'asteroids' and 'space invaders.'
I wish I had a basement, but I live in Cali, so no. I'll probably build a bartop arcade machine in the future.
You, sir, realized the dream. Congrats.
That's the most amazing thing Ive ever seen...!
Holy crap this depresses me. You are so lucky man! I wish we were neighbors. Great job and dedication.
I'd love a neighbor that enjoys these as much as I do.
My jaw dropped when I saw all the deluxe racing games. WOW
I love how you have your classic Nintendo games lined up, then your Bally/Midway, then Williams, the Atari!!! Wish you had more room cause there's still some classics missing. steven spedden The only ones I saw missing from the nintendo section were the Mario Kart racers. Those are like 10 grand tho
Omg he has fix it felix jr 😲
Absolutely incredible collection, the only machine you're missing is a Neo Geo 4 slot big red 😉
absolutely incredible. Enjoy it
Love it ! Even blue Monday blasting away😍
it is sad to see an arcade without ppl in it, arcade not only was a place to play games, but also for socializing.
Check out other videos on the same channel, especially this one. ua-cam.com/video/2Rpwiyi0vyU/v-deo.html It'll make you smile.
Jesus Christ. That must have cost you a small fortune. That's my dream basement!
WHY DOES THIS GIVE ME THE FEELS???????
WOW! not sure why anyone would not like this video. Very nice
Sweet. What an amazing set up for your arcade.
Dude all of this must be like 250 -500k total? I would kill for a set-up like this! Well done hard work pays off you should be really proud!
Maybe like 50k
Looks like about 37 games. Lets say 2K each on average? 1K for the lower end, and maybe 3K each for the racing games with seats? 37 x 2K = $74,000. Add lets say $6000 for the tables, soda and a few extras. $80,000 for all the games.
LOL definitely not 250-500k. Maybe 80k - 100k or a bit more.
Wow, you must throw some crazy parties!
Unreal arcade, this is my dream to have this. Cheers!
wow thats so AMAZING! i own one multi arcade that has a lot of those games on it.
i grew up in the 80s and lived at arcades just like yours. so fun. but i must say, there is something that feels a little Haunting about your arcade too. the games almost seem alive some how. i remember some of those games from 30 years ago. I'm telling you there alive. be careful.

Great arcade! You have good taste in games, all of those are classics. I especially dig the Punch-Out! and Baby Pacman.
That's not a game room that's a fucking DREAM room props man I really hope its all insured lol
Awesome very well put together !!!
This is SOOO Cool! It Must Have Taken A Long Time To Collect All Of That. It's Hard Enough For Me To Make My Own Arcade Cabinet.
Sweet ! Better than most I went to in public back in the day , (way back). I'm a old dude, Lol !
Damn whats your electric bill like
simply amazing!!! great man cave
where did you find the racing games at 2:40 ? i've been trying to find one to add to my collection but i cant seem to pinpoint a reasonable seller
All of them were a mixture of all outlets. Local sellers, auctions and ebay in Missouri. ***** Thank you! Just remember, there's no right or wrong. They came in all sizes BITD from a corner area of a restaurant to small buildings to full size establishments. I actually started out with a garagecade, until my collection grew and I also outgrew my old house.
I want to get me just as much as you have ...with Funhouse!
Funhouse is my top pinball choice while hunting for a pinball, Pinbot is second and Firepower is third.
Until I get the money I'm hoping for.. It's just a dream to me. (I have MOST of the machines on my pc in SIM FORM!
Truly awesome. I salute you!
omg your arcade room is amazing! so awsome, thanks for sharing :)
Are those full size arcade marquees you have hanging on the wall or they smaller? Also what did you use to hang those up?
They are original arcade marquees, from games that are long gone, water damage, rot, etc. There is a mix of plexiglass, glass and translite. 3 or 4 tiny carpet tacks with small nail heads or similar hold them in place along their edges.
Ansolutely amazing
