insane how they managed to make bill and frank's story 1000x more devastating than it was in the game
SO true. It really felt like we were able to connect with them so much more in this episode. Devastating!
@@PsychePlays exactly, and the mix of queer joy and tragedy is just 🤌 like it didn't feel like a typical "bury your gays" trope, they had the happiest ending possible in their situation
Super agree! It was so powerful to see them get to live a full life, with all its ups and downs, when so much of the time media gets it wrong!
Nick Offerman (Bill) won the 2024 Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, for this episode.
Murray Bartlett (Frank) was also nominated.
That does not surprise me in the slightest! Absolutely incredible episode and wonderful performance from both of them.
It helps to remember this: Bill & Frank lived like kings, with a quality of life far greater than just about anyone else in the world, and did so for longer than most people in that world get to live. And when they finally died, they did so completely on their own terms. Compared to them, it's everyone else's lives who are tragic.
9:20 "Please excuse my cat"
Cat: "Damnit, I'm the star of this show" 😄
This is her world, we're just living in it!
I just discovered your channel, but I believe this is the most human hour of television I've seen. It's ok to cry. I'm now subscribed
Thank you so much! I am very new to reaction content but I think it is a really lovely way of sharing an experience with others. I'm hoping to record the next episode (I've done 1x4 already, doing 1x5!) some time this week as I've been super busy lately but looking forward to it!
i LOVED how they fleshed out Bill & Frank's story like WOW 10/10
Absolutely incredible! I am still thinking about it days later, and I'm currently watching Devs with Nick Offerman in it and I keep thinking, this man broke my heart the other day haha.

great television will do that to ya 😂
Brkfst-wife and I both cried through watching you cry through the episode. This episode is one of the finest examples of television ever made in my humble opinion! The way they told the love story is so heartwarming and heartwrenching at the same time, and like you said, the importance of the queer love story being told is so crucial but more important is the fact that it's a love story about humans that just happen to be queer, it's not about their queerness, it's just about their humanness and how much their love is real and raw, which is such an important distinction.
I also love that they timed this episode just after the stunted love story between Joel and Tess so we get to experience a bit of extra heartbreak by proxy for Joel. I'm sure the similarities between Bill and Joel and the ones between Frank and Tess were no accident either.
Anyway, I could go on all night. Brkfst-wife passes on her condolences for the crying and the congratulations for surviving that episode!
I saw this comment the other day and didn't have time to reply right away but please tell brkfstwife thank you 🥹
You're so right about them timing the episode right after the stunted love story between Joel and Tess. I didn't include it because of timing but I loved the way Joel in this episode refers to Tess as "my...mine".
But the way they portrayed the joy between Bill and Frank, as well as the difficult moments, was beautiful. I'm so glad they got to go out on their own terms, even though it was devastating. What a wonderful episode.
Man I cried for hours after watching this episode 😭
I think there's a 2 hour cut of this episode with even more heartbreak that exists, and I really hope we see it someday
You're kidding 😭 I'd love to see it but I just know it'll hurt.
Don't apologize, I loved your reaction.
Thank you 💜
Welcome to the fucking club.
What a series, what an episode. My heart.
One thing to note about Bill and Frank declaring themselves married is that gay marriage wasn't legalized in the US until November of 2003, so two months after the world fell apart.
Oh that's heartbreaking and brings so much more meaning to it.
❤️

I saw kitty, instanly like!
I have five! I'm sure you'll spot them all at some point in my videos. 😂
@@PsychePlays after watching episode 3, maybe it’s time for another emotional support animal haha
So accurate haha

I hate too see you cry! :(
And unfortunately I love media that makes me cry 😂
@@PsychePlays If you love media that makes you cry, have you ever seen HBO's "The Leftovers"?
2% of the world population (140 million people) disappear in the blink of an eye (An event they call the "Sudden Departure"). And the rest of humanity is left to grieve and wonder what happened; or why it happened. How would humanity react to the sudden vanishing of a portion of it's population?
I haven't! I'll have to check it out, thank you for the recommendation!
