Instead of water I used Formula 409 which as some ammonia in it. But the trash bag technique did work on tint that was 17 years old and bubbling. This guys technique is on point.
I used thin stiff cardboard (as used on donut boxes etc) cut in strips to shove the plastic between the glass and sweep. Worked a treat. If I did this for a living I'd source thin (FLAT) plastic, cut strips about 4" wide with slightly rounded corners and use that. I already had the door panels pulled for a lock swap but wouldn't have needed to. The tint I removed didn't respond well to a heat gun because it was old and baked on, but the bag trick got nearly all of it on the first pull.
Cool thanks, got a garbage bag cut it soaked the inside window, put it on left it for 17 minutes in 95 degree heat and peeled that corner in seconds just adding spray as I went. Took me a first timer less than 28 minutes total. I just need to make sure I clean it hood now buy it too hot to figure that out right now.
I removed it on 104 day in Texas. It did leave glue but I just sprayed and wiped it twice with “AWESOME SPRAY” and it removed everything. Tint guy was impressed lol
I made a big mistake!! I DID REMOVE THE FILM DRY AND NOW I HAVE GLUE ALL OVER THE REAR WINDOW. HOW CAN I REMOVE THE GLUE WITHOUT DAMAGING THE DEFROST SYSTEM ? I USED WINDEX AMMONIA DEGREASER ALCOHOL YOU NAME IT AND NOTHING IS WORKING ANY EXTRA TIPS TO REMOVE IT WITHOUT DAMAGING THE DEFROST SYSTEM ????
