You certainly went around the houses.😄 I unbolted it under the seat first, unplugged the lights there and removed the whole assembly in 1 lump then removed the indicators afterwards. One of the nuts was a bugger to get a socket on as you saw and the number plate lamp was a pig to unclip. I managed to get bastardnut in and out around the white connector without it's removal. Interesting to see the long metal bit being re used. I never had to re use anything with the Evotech tidy. Whole job took me about an hour and a half from start to finish.
I've just fitted the Evotech tail tidy it looks bang on, but disregards the whole existing assembly and you just re-use the indicators and their wiring. Comes with a clear set of instructions which i somehow dragged it out for 2 hours but imagine anyone with more than 2 brain cells could do it within an hour. Not the cheapest at £150 but a proper tidy bit of kit
Wondered the whole time when you would change the tail. But it’s still a bit long? For anyone searching for alternatives: I mounted the original yamaha without the middle part and with some washers got it to German street legal 30degree angle (well as close as it went). The original LED indicators are huge. Mounted Kellermann rhombus micro. The difference is extreme 😮
Lmao, looks like something I'd do. I knew that the tag plates for bikes in the UK were big, but dammit. They're more than twice as big as what we use here in the US. You did a good job for the most part. The only thing I would do different would be to disconnect the wires under the seat and then remove the bracket. It probably doesn't matter what brand of tail tidy you use, it probably will still be a pain in the ass. I'm hoping to get a mt10 pretty soon. I'm going to wait for the 2024 model. Not sure if I want the sp or the base model. I've got my fingers crossed for a bit larger TFT, but who knows. 😂
Hi mate ,tail tidy looks nice and fits well, I fitted a J tech tail tidy to my mto9 and it went on no problem and its been fine, really pleased with the quality and price so well happy, I've had several parts from them and always been happy with their products, now you've had your yamaha a while what do you think about the brand and the bike in general, are you please with it . Anyway mate take care and keep the good content coming. 👌
Thanks as always, mate, they're cracking for how much they cost! Had auits a few yams in the past, and they've all been excellent, this bike is fantastic bar some niggles but overall excellent!
That definitely looks better , but what a pain in the ass, that plate sure is huge but like you said , fucking laws.. bike definitely looks much better, good add on man.
