Hey, don't know if you will respond, but I'm a beginner in modelling, so I have a question if it's ok to have a few triangles in a quad retopology? It seems to me it's nearly impossible to exclude them, since most head shapes are roundish, yet it's said to avoid them. Thanks in advance

I know this isn't supposed to be a tutorial, but it's been really helping me through an otherwise confusing blender. This was honestly the easiest way to learn, this model is wonderful 10/10

your topology is GORGEOUS!! i really like your workflow of working from the extremities/limbs and *then* joining them at the torso, it seems like you get a much smoother end result in comparison to just extruding from the torso lol
This is amazing! You get to see how much effort goes into one character model. I'm still exploring blender, and I think many people and I could learn a lot simply by viewing the modeling process.

The hardest part of modeling for me is finding an actual proportionate side view to go with the front view 💀
I barely even use refs anymore aside from just a singular image off to the side in both front and side views.

check out Dikko's poly modelling tutorial if your comfortable enough with blender(not a beginner). I loosely used his video for modeling the body. Though I came up with my own method for the face. If you wanna do it the same way, i suggest slowing down the video. for rigging I dont quite remember what videos i used because i watched a combination of many tutorials to achieve this. This was my first and last time rigging like this so sorry for not having a better response... hope this helps~ ^^

its called the F2 addon! It comes with blender by default. Just enable in in blender preferences!! ^^

so cool!!! i noticed you used bones for the face instead of shape keys. is that just easier for you? i’d love to learn your process on that 🤍
thank you!! i use bones because personally it’s easier to animate. but for a vtuber model or for vrchat, shape keys are def the way to go, much more simple.
